  • Are you talking about the T-Nation article or the NYT article? I'm assuming the 2nd T-Nation article I posted. That concerned me too. They teach proper form, but then tell them that if they're doing proper form, they're doing the exercise too slow. Now onto pushing yourself, there's nothing wrong with that, but pushing…
  • You already posted that article once in this threat, please stop. I'm not a Crossfit fan, but stop beating a dead horse!
  • There are two articles you should read before considering Crossfit: http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance_investigative/the_truth_about_crossfit (the most fair article I've read)…
  • Exercise is great for kids, as long as you're not having her lift weights. Lifting weights too early can stunt growth and do more harm than good.
  • I have to post after ^^^^^ lol! Male, 5'10" 206lbs 1RM - 310lbs (only did it once) 5RM - 275lbs
  • The cheaper stuff is fine....make sure you don't get the Mass Gainer (680 calories per serving).
  • I'd do stronglifts if I were you. You'll still gain strength on a deficit, but you won't gait the maximum strength. You'll also add some muscle if you've never lifted before.
  • Ronnie Coleman is a cop, and has never denied steroid use (which makes me wonder how he became a cop....). Now onto HGH and Steroids. Human Growth Hormone and Testosterone are two different substances that do similar things, though HGH can actually cause your bones to grow, when testosterone does not. HGH can cause muscle…
  • I can ask you for evidence that roid rage exists, but I won't waste your time looking for it. Now as for psychological symptons, there are studies that show anabolic steroids could increase or heighten pyschological symptoms already there. Now it could also be a catalysts for "bigorexia," the obsession with becoming…
  • Now are you guys doing the 17 hour a day fasting or are you taking 2 days a week off fasting.
  • Again, steroids do not cause people to lose control over their bodies. In fact, propensity towards violence is no higher in steroid users than the general population. So if you were gonna beat your wife on steroids, you would most likely beat your wife off steroids. There is actually a higher percentage of violence…
  • Its an untested contest, so yeah lol.
  • Winning at all costs is just as bad as not allowing anyone to fail, and I don't think anyone is advocating that. There has to be a healthy balance. The book "Free Range Kids" is an excellent book on anti-helicopter parenting. The lady was the one who let her kid ride the subway in NYC by himself and has great insight on…
  • A lot of competitions don't test, and the ones that do the guys cycle off far enough in advance of the competition so their testosterone levels aren't higher than normal....or they show their prescription.
  • In all honesty, any multi-vitamin will do unless you're a serious into fitness. But ditto on Omega-3s.
  • Its not your teacher's responsibility to teach you self esteem, its your parents. When my daughter is old enough to understand, she will be told she will not be punished at home if she stands up to being bullied, or someone else being bullied. Basically she better not start the fight, but she's allowed to finish it. My…
  • I think it starts at the toddler age. For example, I see too many parents on the playground rushing over to help their kid who tripped and fell. I tell my daughter, to get up and deal with it, and you know what....she does. Its pitiful seeing a kid twice my daughter's age go crying to mommy or daddy when they trip and…
  • Yup, but there are also certain jobs where it would be beneficial to be stronger: military, police, fire. That being said, its easy to get a prescription these days. All you have to do is go to your doctor and tell him you have low libido and he does a few tests (which you can do things to lower your testosterone for the…
  • I don't know about you guys, but I can get 3 workouts in on a shirt before people start looking at me funny....anyone else?
  • Yes...but its not exact. See how your body reacts. If you're getting "fat" after a month or so, try lower your calories. If you're not seeing results, try upping them. In all honesty, just starting off is a big experiment.
  • I'd argue at least 50% are using HGH or a form of steroids at the pro level, 75% or more at the college and amateur level, and a lot more than you would expect at the high school level. But you're right, they just haven't been caught yet since testing always comes after
  • People move for fire trucks and ambulances, but not police cars. Also, a lot of the time people pull out in front of emergency vehicles because they outrun their siren. You can outrun a typical police siren at around 60mph...which I know I go faster than that to most emergency calls. Though the more I work, the fewer calls…
  • Try being a guy and reading that at work lol.
  • Since you're so light, 100g or more shouldn't be too hard.
  • And its shown women benefit from a touch of testosterone as well :P.
  • How can anyone forget a circle jerk? Oh wait...:P.
  • I'm not too keen on the late 70s punk as workout music. Maybe The Stooges, but bands like MC5 and New York Dolls just aren't motivating.
  • P90x is pretty much a cardio workout, unless you're using real weights and doing 8-12 reps for size...but then you might as well be doing a weight lifting program. However, if you've never lifted before, you'll see newbie gains muscle-wise. That being said, I'd eat a little over maintenance, all lean protein. Pretty much…
  • Pennywise x3 :P NOFX Lagwagon AFI (OLD STUFF, BEFORE DAVY HAVOK STARTED WEARING GLITTER) Refused The Misfits (surprised this one hasn't come up yet) Sublime The Transplants (sort of punk...has Tim Armstrong lol) Mighty Mighty Bosstones (great running music, and the band I have inadvertently seen 10+ times lol) 88 Fingers…
  • Trail running will help you get used to the cardio aspect, but concentrate on compound exercises as well as losing weight. The less you weight, the less weight you have to navigate the obstacles lol.
