Being sore is not needed to have a good workout...be thankful you're not :).

You don't have to cycle creatine. It will make you retain some water, but you shouldn't noticed any large amount of bloating....but everyone's body is different.
-
I believe you can only gain 10-15lbs, on average, a year (without steroids) and on a good diet.

Learned that one the hard way too lol.

Deadlifts are horrible to do on a smith machine due to its fixed range of motion. It is near impossible to perfect form on a smith machine and she could end up hurting her back more.

Ego is the cause of most injuries (and not just physical).

Ditto on rack pulls. It could be possible to start with light rack pulls slowly progressing Stronglifts 5x5 style. Start with the bar only and every week add 10lbs. The bar will probably be extremely light, but its the safest way to progress. Now once you hit a goal number, lets say 135lbs, lower the weight and start all…

That girl isn't really "toned," but she is skinny. Could you get that skinny? Sure, especially at 112lbs. But I bet if you lifted heavy and watched what you ate you'd look a lot better than that picture in 3 months.

All you really need is a power rack (as low as $400 used), bench (as low as $50 used), Olympic bar, and weights....the weights are the priciest thing, but you could get away with starting out with two of each plate, then as you get stronger buy what you need. Now don't go too cheap, or the equipment will break....probably…

How to start? I recommend using Stronglifts 5x5 because it has you start with the bar only and you progress from there. If you go to the website and download the PDF, the last half of the PDF file (which is over 50 pages long) is full of success stories. By regular lifting, I assume you mean the 3 sets of 10 where you're…

As long as you don't stare you should be fine....well that and as long as you don't carry a big sign announcing to the locker room that you're gay. Most guys probably don't have a problem with it (I know I don't), but you might cause more problems if you're blatant about it in the locker room.

Jack3d really didn't do anything for me, but NO Xplode, Black Powder, and NanoVapor did. Call the company and get a free sample to see if you like it before you spend the money on buying a container.

Was it a weight gainer protein shake? If so, those things are loaded with calories (usually sugar). They do make lower calorie protein shakes if you're that concerned. I usually have one for breakfast with half a cruncy peanut butter sandwhich and a banana.

They're pretty straight forward with pricing, but on the rules side....well lets just say if you want to seriously train, PF is not the place to do it. They have a ban on making any type of noise while working out from grunting like an ape to breathing heavy. They also have a ban on any lift from the ground, which causes…

I wasn't talking about his form, but the program itself. You can make arguments on the which squat is better, high bar vs. low bar, which I perfer high bar. However, this isn't the thread to argue form...and the mods have been locking a bunch of threads lately that get off topic. To OP: Do your own research, and complete…

There's always one....most strength coaches today point to Starting Strength as the "bible" of strength training. Rippitoe is also one of the few peer reviewed publishers of strength training articles, so I'm going to trust him and his program. Is it a rip off of someone else? Probably, as are most things in fitness.…

You could be naturally "phelmy." Have you tried taking a decongestant prior to exercise?

If your power clean form is good to go, Starting Strength is an expert backed program created by one of the leading strength coaches in the US. Stronglifts was created by a gym rat, but endorsed by the creator of Starting Strength as a viable beginners program due to the lack of Power Cleans. All that being said, I'd start…

That's why stuff like that should go on credit cards....easier to dispute the charge. However, if you're on month to month, they usually require a 60 day written notice (sent certified and even signature delivery to cover yourself) so they can get 2 extra months out of you. Good luck getting any money back they over…

I hope she wasn't being serious. I'd love to do power lifting too, but the only strong life I have is deadlift since I have freakishly long arms and legs (so squat and bench sucks). They have adult power lifting leagues if you live in a larger metro area, but make sure you try to find a drug free league if you want to be…

Like others have said, women have 2 things that men (most men) don't have. Now I don't think its more acceptable for men to be heavier. Countless studies have shown heavier men (and women) typically earn less money and get fewer promotions. However, for those who see it as more acceptable, I believe its because men are…

Buy smaller socks.

I let them slide and get yelled at by the wife.

Tell her to never ever, under no circumstance, exercise....teens tend to do what their parents don't want them to.

I had the same problem tonight...but I think its because I didn't eat enough today like a dummy.
-
Ditto...I can barely catch my breath after a heavy Deadlift or Squat set. Cardio is important, but latest research is showing its not as important as once though.
-
Put the fork down and when you do eat, don't eat junk. As for exercise, lift heavy weights with moderate cardio. Waiting for my ban for honesty.
-
Are you talking about the rowing cardio machine or the weight lifting rowing machine?
-
Its my job and badge #.

You'll have to build muscle in those areas so you only have to do 2 exercises, squats and deadlifts.
