I have a seemingly supportive family in that my MIL sends literally 6+ freezers worth of homemade meals home with us multiple times a year. While this helps dramatically with groceries, it is incredibly frustrating. I eat what I purchase, and plan for breakfast and lunch on my own myself; but my husband expects me to eat…

Hi all. I can relate and understand a lot of you! I have been TTC for two years and have gone through 9 months of hormones and 8 failed IUI cycles. Finally got a referral for a doctor in my state willing to try IVF so now we wait. Anyhow, I stopped working full time when we started trying to build a family and I went part…

WRITE ABOUT IT! Someone told me to write down in my food journal why I am eating every time I eat something. So, I put a notepad on my kitchen table and one in my purse and started doing so religiously. I was completely blown away at how frequently I found myself standing in front of an open refrigerator door wondering how…

3,500 calories Of energy are needed to burn one pound of fat. But, your body doesn't always burn strictly energy from fat stores- it uses varying sources depending on the type, duration, and intensity of exertion. Having said that, you burn calories (your basal metabolic rate) through the day aside from physical exercises…

I agree with an earlier post re: trying physical therapy. Ask your doctor if you can get a referral and that way insurance is more likely to help pay for PT (depending on your state and insurance plan). It's Important to find fun and non painful activities you enjoy and will keep going back to; better to consult the…

Heck yes it does! As a PT student about to graduate, I say YES! And asking your PT about other safe exercises for you with your fitness and diet goals in mind can be a big help :) good luck with your rehab!!

I agree with this... I am a total caffeine addict but I've had to wean myself down from coffee and diet coke just to get back to a regular sleep schedule.... I was having problems falling to sleep when I was finally able to.

Green tea or coffee first thing for me, I really notice it makes my tummy feel better and helps with my digestion :)

Yes, I am completely with you. Swam and played water polo through college and now in graduate school... Sitting a lot. This site is helping me a lot with learning how to eat correctly because food/weight wasn't a concern until I graduated undergrad. If you have any helpful tips for me, let me know! Haha. I can suggest 10…

Hi! Well you do have to account for the fact that everyone's basal metabolic rate is a bit different, so we all use calories at a slightly different rate, but for the most part this isn't a big issue. I love it, it is so easy to track your progress. And I always get a big boost of motivation when someone tells me good job…
