I'm a 36yr old mom of kids age 13, 7, and 6. I also work full time and my hubby works shift work, so am on my own for half the month. I've had success using MFP in the past, but fell off track for a while. I am setting to refocus, mainly focusing on strenghth training and building up my running. I have 25Ibs to lose and…

I've also been having this issue. I contacted support, they suggested removing and reinstalling app. I did this but still the issue remains:/

Exactly, I'm still learning all the ins and outs to best utilize my HR, and that's not factoring in any bugs or glitches beyond my control. I never thought to start activity yesterday prior to carrying the logs, maybe it would have made a difference. At any rate, today's a new day AND I'll be in cell range all day so…

I generally do weights 3-4x/week. That's my one constant. For the non-weight days I aim for cardio, but this is where I vary. I have no set plan, I base my cardio on whatever I'm in the mood for. Somedays I run, length dependant on how I'm feeling. Sometimes I turn to YouTube, fitness blender, or pop in a DVD. Again,…

Ok, I want to make sure I have this right. I read through the FAQ and think I do, but I get a little overwhelmed by all of the info and guess I need confirmation on the process. Yesterday I did a strength workout, I pressed the activity button at the start and at the end. I then went into my dashboard and manually logged…

https://www.fitbit.com/user/3GTX8K I would love some friends, I have none:( I have had my HR for two days now and am still learning, including how to add people. So far I am in love with this device and maybe a little overly obsessed!!!

Thanks for the info. I did a stride test tonight and it seems to be on par, but I'm not great with formulas so I will re-read the one you posted in stickies and test again later to confirm.

Great thanks!

I think that looks like a pretty well-rounded routine. Another site I like in which you can build dumbbell only workouts is rxex.net

It can be a very scary thought; we're so used to the idea that less calories is the way to go. There are so many helpful people in this group, you should take the plunge and see for yourself, worse case is you set yourself back a few weeks, but I think you'll be surprised:) This method has done wonders for me and best part…

Did my weigh in this morning and have lost:) I know this past week has been unusually active for me, I probably should have adjusted my activity level to reflect this, but honestly I've felt great and eating at a higher goal was such a treat to start with. I am so glad I have taken on this concept of eating more and losing…

I have been at TDEE-15% as suggested by others. Am glad I listened. I've been off work this week and more active than normal. Will adjust accordingly once I get back to my normal routine:)

Tomorrow I will do a weigh; I am also picking up a new measuring tape since I can't seem to find mine! I don't know how I'll fair, but I have to say I feel so good eating at a higher calorie goal, stronger, super energized, and hopeful for long-term success! My only struggle right now as a non-meateater is hitting my…

Amazing!! Great work, you're so tiny now

I plan on doing a check-In a week from today. Fingers and toes crossed!!

You're stomach looks so much like mine! I've had three c-sections and my youngest two are only three months apart, so I was essentially pregnant for two years. I lost all of my baby weight and went back to what would be my "normal" weight. My tummy shrunk but was still loose and saggy. I don't think I ever worked hard…

Thanks for the feedback. I will look at spreadsheet this weekend when I get some computer time:) in the meantime I have upped my calories based on 15%. It's amazing the difference I feel already now that I am consciously eating more, rather than mindlessly overeating or mindfully under eating!

This just happened to me on App and the website. It also corrected for me when I changed my settings to custom.

Thanks. Make sense. I've been spending so much time reading and trying to get as much knowledge as I can. It's definately a mindset change and hard not to be a bit freaked out to willingly increase my calories; but I believe it's worth it and will likely be a lifelong process for me. I haven't been eating at a low calorie…

What's the overall advantage of 15% rather than 20%? Sorry for my lack of knowledge. I've seen both suggested and am a bit unclear?

I've started weighing most of my food, it's been a real eye opener. I may not do it forever but it's given me a reality check on some of my "estimations". Peanut butter being the biggest example, what I thought was a tablespoon was a lot higher calorie once I weighed it. On the other hand, avacados were less calories than…

I have glitches with calories sometimes when I use my phone. If I switch to the website on my computer it seems to go away.
-
I am so motivated by all of these transformations. I can't wait to be at the point where I can post my before and after pic!! Great work everyone

I'm in BC. canada. Add me if you'd like

Ugh! Just so you know I wrote a long gushing praise of the benefits of MFP and it seems to have gotten cut off. Now I just want to delete this thread. How embarrassing!

Insanity is the only series I've done where I've really thought I was going to vomit after finishing. I find it to be very intense. I have done T25 and it's a better option for the less fit, still intense but more manageable. I did find it to be harder on my knees though. Fitnessblender.com is amazing, so many options for…

Looks great!!

I used to use Splenda in my coffee, shortly after I started I began developing blisters on my mouth and didn't know why. I googled possible causes and found someone who had the same problem and it stopped when they quit Splenda. I stopped and they cleared up right away, so now I just don't sweeten my coffee:) I do know of…

I agree I've found greater success with 1lb a week target, even then I'm not perfect. But I'm better prepared for the long haul:)

I'm 5'2". I find it easy to maintain 125-130, below that becomes a struggle. We get the short-end of the stick when it comes to daily calorie target (pun intended). Our amount is so low because of our height, even when I did WW my daily points was the lowest you could go while all my taller friends got to eat so much more:/
