YES! Also this. Good sports bras are stupid expensive, but absolutely necessary.

I'm a pretty inexperienced runner (only running for a few months now), but I went through something similar when I first started running intervals (similar to C25k) - my back was sore... as was my right knee. It turns out that my running form was AWFUL. I started focusing more on form than speed or distance for a few…

Check out www.skinnytaste.com GREAT lightened up recipes... many of which I would consider total comfort food.

I started Stronglifts mid-January at 65% of my bodyweight. I'm up to 100% bodyweight now.

When I was in Jamaica, I ate a lot of fruit, veggies and meat. I think the carby stuff was an option as well, but the other stuff was fresh. And, seriously, jerk chicken. Eat it. I could live off that 'ish.

It's definitely possible, but let's not set yourself up for failure. What others have said... Set realistic goals. Healthy weight loss is about 2lbs/week (max). Burning 1,000 calories a day seems like a very lofty goal. You're going to get REALLY burned out. Slow and steady wins the race, my friend.

I do sort of a combo of IIFYM and the calorie is a calorie method. I try to hit my macros while staying around my calorie goal (I have set my calories and macros myself to meet my personal needs). Seems to be working for me!

Wait a tick... if my average pace is 10:34, does this mean I'm also a runner? Not ready to own that!
-
for the TL;DR crowd... per day? NO.

In short... yes. MFP seems to underestimate caloric goals for active people. MFP tells me that I should be somewhere around 1450, but I reset my goals based on BMR/TDEE (check out iifym.com). I eat anywhere between 1600-1800 calories daily - depending on activity level - and consistently lose fat. In fact, since I started…

I think someone else said it, but I'll reinforce: you have already done the hardest part... starting the process! Good job! Does it get easier? YES! The more you focus on this being a lifestyle change and not simple a "diet" the easier it becomes. You may want to reevaluate setting your calorie goal to 1500. Less isn't…

I'm a new convert to Quest Bars. What the above poster said - few ingredients, high protein... oh... and they're delicious. They're not just "oh this is pretty good for a protein bar" kind of delicious. Seriously REALLY tasty. I look forward to that chocolate chip cookie dough bar all day. Please go to GNC and pick up a…

When I first started, I rewarded myself with things like a pedicure or a new outfit when I hit 25lbs lost, 40lbs lost, etc. My goals and rewards have changed quite a bit since I started, but definitely put some goals in place for yourself. Write them down, put them on your profile, do whatever you need to do to stay…

Heavy lifting rocks!! I'm about 8 weeks in on Stronglifts (about at my max, though), and inches are FALLING off my body - 7 inches overall in about 2 months. Keep it up - you look great!!

Nope! My kids are ages 2 & 5. I will say that I try to cook things that everyone in my house enjoys, but I do not cater to any one person. I also give my kids days where they get to choose the menu - the only rule is that it must have healthy components. Rarely my older son totally hates something that I make. When this…

That's the exact reason why I started with MFP - I liked the idea that I could have "friends" like I did while doing WW. I'm 31, married, and my kids are ages 5 and 2. I work full time and also have my own small mostly internet-based business. You CAN do this, it just takes a little planning and effort. Soon enough, what…

Seconded.

Dude. This is freakin amazing! This gives me serious hope for my heavy lifting. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

This. Is. FANTASTIC!

I often have to get up at 5AM to fit exercise into my day. What helps the most is this: SLEEP. Setting out a gym outfit with my water bottle, and eating something little as soon as my eyes pop open also helps. But, mostly, SLEEEEEEEP.

Wear what you're comfortable in! I used to stray away from compression yoga pants, because I felt that I was far too fat for spandex. Now, I'm probably still far too far for spandex, but I'm most comfortable wearing compression capris and a t-shirt or tank top. You're there to work on you - not to impress anyone else.…

Hi! Non-runner here. I would imagine you will notice progress early on. I started running intervals (my own version sort of c25k) about 6 or 7 weeks ago. I've gone from not being able to run a mile, to being able to run 5k on a good day. Push yourself, but also know your limits. If you're really struggling, slow down down.…

THIS 5x5 is a great way to begin! I'm still technically obese, btw. However, you WILL see results! I can physically see triceps and quads now. Lift heavy, get lean. Enjoy!

I have an Enell bra that I loooooove. I can wear it running or to a high impact aero class and the girls do not move. Pricey, yes, but worth it.
