Aw just go for it. And the the black card so you can take advantage of the hydromassage. Totally worth the little bit extra per month!

There are always other races. Get yourself to the starting line and positive talk through the race. You're gonna be great!

I always allow myself a cheat. Maybe not a full on day, though. For instance, last week I knew i was going to my friend's on Saturday for swimming/snacks/drinks. I made sure I didn't go over my cals all week so I knew I had the wiggle room to indulge within reason. It's all bout planning

Age 35 here. I lost over 100lbs and maintained for a while, but have since gained back about 40lbs of that 100 lost (long boring story associated with weight gain. Feel free to add!

I'm in western PA... It's pop... I switch between hoagie/sub... and fireflies.

My first was 37:17... that was in March of this year. Last weekend, I PR'd at 28:22.

Just curious...why is this diet so strict? I'm kinda stressed just reading about it.

Just echoing what others have said - mixed grip and gloves help me. My friends swear by wraps and chalk. Go with what works best for you.

Fracking impressive! I lost track in the evening... I think I was a little over 3k.

I'm also training for my first half marathon - I just started running in the fall of 2013, and the half that I'm training for is in October. I'm following a 20 week training program that I found to really ease me into high mileage (at least high mileage for me). The Hal Higdon schedules kind of scared me as a new runner,…

Thanks again, everyone!

Less than impressive? Shoot. I'm still fighting for my sub-30-minute race. Awesome job! I'm impressed for sure.

LOVE pump. Sad my gym no longer has it!
-
Arms... then legs. I think someone else said it... but yeah... no chicken legs.

Thanks, everyone! Success isn't only what the scale shows!
-
AWESOME!! I really freaking love SL. So hard.

You continue to inspire me, girl! You're the best!

AWESOME!

I daydream of pizza more often than I'd like to admit. DOOMED!

Please please consult your doctor before starting any new exercise. I was lifting before I was pregnant with my youngest son, so I continued to lift (clear up until the day I delivered). I was doing mostly upper body things towards the end of my pregnancy, though. If anything, I wouldn't try anything *too* new or too heavy…

140? Difficult with profile pic.

This! I generally force myself to get up the damned hill, and then walk at the top as my "reward" for making it. (Of course, I strained a hammy this morning doing this, but we're not going to talk about that. :)

My mouth also gets quite dry - I started stashing a mint or jolly rancher in my arm band that holds my phone (or a pocket if I have one). It may not be the *best* idea to run with something in your mouth, but it has helped me a great deal. When I start running longer distances while training for a half, I'll probably start…

Check my profile photo... I've had huge calves for my entire life - it's in my genes (could be the same with yours). I've finally learned to embrace them. 93 pounds later, rather than being flabby, they're more defined... and I like that.

Doooooooit! I ran my first 5k on my own - I was SUPER nervous, but quickly found that everything I was nervous about were total non-issues. I talked to people, I wasn't last, I wasn't the only person that took walking breaks, etc. It was a great experience!

BOOBS!!

It may not be the same across the board, but for me it definitely applies. I used to feel like I was KILLING myself in the gym... cardio, weights, hitting it two-a-day style at least once a week. Then, I decided to switch to running as cardio (sometimes swimming to switch it up and take it easy on the joints form time to…

I love this idea! Sometimes, even on a shorter run, I feel like I need water... but I think it's more of a dry mouth situation than anything. I'm definitely going to try this. Thanks!

You can also search for/log "pregnancy" to add calories. Same goes for breastfeeding.

Dooooooo it! And whatever you do, don't be nervous. You will absolutely not be the slowest/most out of shape/last person to cross the finish line/only person taking walking breaks/etc. 5k races are super fun!
