I love this idea! Sometimes, even on a shorter run, I feel like I need water... but I think it's more of a dry mouth situation than anything. I'm definitely going to try this. Thanks!

You can also search for/log "pregnancy" to add calories. Same goes for breastfeeding.

Dooooooo it! And whatever you do, don't be nervous. You will absolutely not be the slowest/most out of shape/last person to cross the finish line/only person taking walking breaks/etc. 5k races are super fun!

Yep. I just spent $140. Worth every penny too.

Profile photo is before and current. The "after" won't be for a looooooong time.

205... difficult, though with profile photo

NICE! I love running related NSVs!

If you're planning on running, do yourself a favor and go to a running store and get fitted. I recently did this, and the difference is absolutely night and day regarding how running feels to me (after trying on and running in 6 different shoes, I now wear New Balance now, FYI). Oh, and I've also heard great things about…

Road ID bracelet here!

Just had this conversation with a friend... I can't seem to tell the difference between a guy being friendly, and a guy being flirty. Unless it's blatant (like the guy that holla'd at me from across the Panera parking lot...).

PRing is such an awesome feeling. Congrats!

What others have said - lettuce wrap. Rarely do I eat an actual bun anymore. I don't think the bun itself is all *that* good that I feel like wasting precious calories on one.

Phone on my arm in an armband (I use it for music and mapmyrun). Keys? I really need to get a lanyard or something. I have been known to hide my keys inside the gas door...

I'm a very novice runner, so take this for what it's worth. Slow down... don't kill yourself to run. You'll never actually like it if you don't. Programs like C25K are awesome, or you can run/walk your own intervals. Ain't no shame in taking a short walking break to lower your heart rate either. Keep trying. There are…

I like to use PB2 in baking, smoothies, protein shakes, etc. As a substitute for *real* peanut butter? Nah. Get the real thing. Eat it.

Colorado, in general, is fantastic... all year long.

They'll notice! Before I dropped a more significant amount of weight, I got a lot of the "you look good today" stuff. Granted, I work in healthcare, so scrubs are not exactly flattering and/or form-fitting. For me, it wasn't until I recently bought my second "new" size down in scrubs for my coworkers to REALLY notice. My…

This is fantastic! Nice work! This made me realize that my instagram probably is too! :) FUN!

I have been a non-runner for the majority of my life... unless playing a sport. Running just... to run? That's stupid. However, I dropped some weight and suddenly realized - HEY... I can run a mile now! Kinda awesome! I started running intervals (like C25K) this past December at the suggestion of a friend purely for…

My first was in March and I finished at 36:17 (started running this past December). I started out WAY too fast, and the last mile was a lot of walking/jogging. I have another 5k in May that I started following Hal Higdon's novice 5k training plan to prepare for. My goal for the May 5k is 35 or under, and run a negative…

You're super inspiring!! Fabulous!

The Pure Protein Chewy Chocolate Chip... but Quest is absolutely superior.

Absolutely lead by example. Keep healthy foods in your house, teach them about healthy and delicious foods, teach them moderation, etc. Lead by example. I am proud of myself for my own weight loss and fitness accomplishments, but what makes me the most proud is when my kids (Ages 2.5 and 5) consciously make healthy food…

THIS! Go with what you're comfortable with (walking, biking, swimming, anything!). But yeah... this fat loss business is mostly diet related. Cardio will also absolutely help, but weights will help maintain the muscle mass that you have.

Excellent points! Like I said, I'm a total noob to this stuff... I had not even thought about that.

I have a 5k mud run in June... thinking about a zombie run in August. I've been running (in general) and plan trail runs over the next month or two. My concerns aren't even the obstacles - it's more the actual act of running. I'm pretty strong (yes I even lift), but I'm a total noob to running.

so. much. this.
