What I have gained while losing 100lbs

Just your average ice cream junkie checking in.
Sure, I've dropped 100lbs in 315 days, but I have actually gained way more in this span of time.
1. Doing things I never imagined I'd be able to do... like rock climbing, or participating in a mud run (running any distance for any reason, actually).
2. Feeling like an athlete.
3. Resting heart rate of 54 (as opposed to 80). AWESOME.
4. Not only being able to shop in any store, but also not being forced to immediately look for the largest size that they carry.
5. Wearing compression running gear, and not caring if others think my butt is too big for spandex.
6. No longer avoiding being in photos.
7. Continuing to surprise myself with fitness achievements.
8. No longer being the token "fat friend"
9. SHARING clothes with my friends.
10. Non-scale victories feeling a million times better than the number on the scale.
Somewhere along the way, my desire to drop some weight and live a healthier life turned into me doing things I would have never done, meeting people I would have never met, and ultimately being in the best shape of my life. It's pretty amazing what can happen when little changes become big changes over time.

AWESOME! Losing weight and being healthy contains so many more positives than just a lower # on the scale. Thanks for sharing because I know I need to be reminded and focus on these types of things often!0

I know exactly what you mean. I was morbidly obese most of my adult life and in the past 2 years of being an active member of MFP, I've not only lost that weight, but gained much, much more in quality of life and confidence. I run now, I work out 6 days a week most weeks, I eat better than I ever did before making these changes in my life, I've been able to drop my cholesterol medicine, and for the first time in my life I feel honestly good about myself.0
