Without going into too much detail and the following is only my own personal opinion....I have found that when you get so very close to your goal or when you are at a stalling point....strength training is the answer. So many women are afraid of this, but it really does pay off and has sooo many benefits other than the…

woops...this was in response to hatf's initial comment on page 9 I believe...sorry for the confusion. :)

Hi there....your stats are just a bit off of mine...you are 2 inches taller and 16 YEARS younger lol!! but our body shapes are very similiar. I was very athletic growing up and consider my thighs and calves to be huge!! It has been my experience that hiking (variable terrain) or hiking in a local park that offers hills and…

I find it hard to avoid in all aspects as well, but, do what I can to avoid it. I live in South Central Pa and have found that Arnold's name brand bread does not have HFCS. Most of our grocery stores stock it as well as Wal-Mart. I have recently found ketchup that does not have it as well. Good Luck!

bumping this to see how you ladies like and make out with TF. I am considering purchasing it, but am unsure if I should get the TF or Insanity. I have heard that CE requires more weights and such and I do my weight work at the gym. I am excited to see all of your journeys with TF! Good luck to you all!!
-
Will be lurking around here to hear what you all have to say about the hybrid....sounds like sooo much fun! I am getting much closer to ordering TF but hubby wants to order Insanity. Anyway, I will be anxious to see what you all have to say. I am sure hearing all the good things will get me fired up to push me to order!!!…

Let's see...we are doing the hiking/hill combo 3-4 times per week / most probable reason for doing this would be to enjoy the outdoor weather while we can vs hitting the gym which we will have to do over the winter months as well as just trying to get in a decent workout...not so much for weight loss but to tone lower body…

Hi Ladies....bumping this to read in its entirety later. Have been toying with the idea of purchasing Turbo Fire. Anxious to read about how much you all love it and what it has been able to do for your body and soul.

This is a great idea....**BUMP**

I have just recently started to research bread options...I chose Arnold's since it does not have the HFCS added - decent fiber and protein as well. As I started looking at the labels....I was shocked how many "whole wheat" breads were not actually "WHOLE wheat"....lol I would be curious what bread options you all choose…

I very much agree with you....I do have a banana and some walnuts or pecans as a snack throughout the day as well as a yogurt with some sort of fresh fruit in it...probably not nearly enough, but they are in there. I tend to have more of these on the days that I will not be having the salad/meat/veggie combo for dinner.…

I have a ? that may sound completely absurd....my girlfriend and I hike(intermediate terrain) everyday at least 5 miles and then run hills afterwards (maybe a total of 15 mins of hill running all total - but running up them as fast as we can, walking down, counting to 20 then doing it again). I eat 2 packets of oatmeal…

ME!! This is a great website to learn so much from so many different parameters! Great support and motivation as well. My wish is for all that join mfp to learn that this is a life long journey to better/cleaner eating and making the best choices possible under any and all conditions. And when we do fall, which is…

Bumping this to read it in its entirety later....very pleased to find it. I have been off mfp for a while, but, am looking forward to getting back on to learn more. My weight pretty much stayed the same, but, can say I had my bf tested by a dietician/trainer and it was 19.9% when I started and it has been holding steady at…

Hello, Don't really have an answer to your question, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone...this happens to me as well on the arc trainer, every single time!!! :grumble: Thought it was a posturing problem, but, I wanted my husband to try the arc and it happened to him as well. My right foot falls asleep first…

I feel your pain!! TOM always has such a drastic affect on my workouts!! I only say this since you said you will not be able to work out tomorrow....talk yourself into 1/2 hour workout tonight.....once you get started you may not want to stop (if you workout longer than 1/2 hour). When I struggle with should I or shouldn't…

Hello, I really wished I remembered all the info to back up this statement...I remember seeing it here on the posts somewhere....fat free salad dressing interferes with breakdown and absorbtion of the salad ingredients - pls look at past posts to gain further info on this. I was always told too, that the fat from the salad…

Un-freakin believable!! I used to work in a hospital and it still surprises me. I just don't understand the mentality that it would take for someone to physically take something that did not belong to them.... UUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!! Hope your father is well.

While you are at GNC today...take a gander at the Muscle Milk whey protein mixes....I use cake batter post workout in the evening and I love it....My husband even drinks it with a scoop of peanut butter in it. Good luck with your goal!!! It is just as frustrating when your goal switches to bf% as it is when you are…

I just started incorporating some of these routines in my work outs. to help me reach my 16% bf goal (I am currently at 18.3%bf....$#&^%*&(*^%%$ they kick your *kitten*!!!! I cannot attest to them yet, but have a friend that reached her goal weight, decent bf% and just wanted to be a bit leaner without losing much more…

Well, I can confirm that poor diet choices can play a negative effect on your body regardless if you are overweight or not....had body fat % of 20 and had 210/106 blood pressure!!!! Medicines did not do the trick, but making good sound food choices and limiting my sodium and caffeine and plenty of exercise has made a…

LOL...I am an 80's gal as well....was an inch taller than too with the help of hairspray!!! Anyway, I enjoy all types of music, but when I work out hard, I usually enjoy LInkin Park or Nickelback...LP has the edgy darker lyrics and Nickelback has the great bass beat of the drums to keep me movin!! I find that I work with…

Glad to hear that your bp is better with the meds....even on my meds (tried several) it didn't help my bp a whole lot. Highest was 210/106 and best on meds was 148/101...for the past month it has been right around 128/90....diastolic is borderline, but much much better than before and good enough for doc to let me off the…
