Everytime I get on the elliptical or the stepper my right foot falls asleep. I've tried changing the position of my foot, I changed shoes and have tried tying the laces different. It doesnt' happen when I walk, run or bike. It's really frustrating! Anyone have any ideas why this is happening or what I can do to make it stop?

i don't know, but this happens to me on the eliptical too. which is so bizarre, because cardio is supposed to get your blood flowing. but obviously it is happening for a reason...hmmm, maybe too much blood

I don't have an answer...but it happens to me too. Not when I bike or anything else, just the elliptical. I thought I was tying my shoes too tight but that wasn't it. I am curious about this too.

    Hello,

Don't really have an answer to your question, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone...this happens to me as well on the arc trainer, every single time!!! :grumble: Thought it was a posturing problem, but, I wanted my husband to try the arc and it happened to him as well. My right foot falls asleep first (after about 15 mins or so) but, my left foot is numb til I am done as well. Like you, I have tried placing my feet in different positions and have tried leaning forward, back and staying absolutely straight...all with no improvements. I also don't have any problems with this when I do any of my other cardio work....

Good Luck....curious if anyone else will have any insight into this...lol

My trainers has also told me this is common an not to be concerned about it. I find it happens when I am on the exercise bike.

He didn't really give me a solution for it though ... and it is really frustrating.

I asked about this at the gym this morning. They told me it usually happens when one leg (or both ) gets tired and you start snapping or locking your knees causing your foot to fall asleep. So I tried to be aware while I was on today but my foot STILL fell asleep.
