  • So I'm going to be a little different here. I quit about 6 months ago. I started smoking when I was 12 years old! Yes, 12!!! And I too had tried everytihng. I spent $1000 on hypnosis and wasted just as much money on Zyban, the patch and even tried the electronic cigarette. I've been quit since Fathers Day and I know this…
  • I'm in! I work out about 2 hours a day and the first hour has to be in the a.m. I'm doing a biggest loser challenge so 2 hours a day is only for 6 weeks of the challenge but maybe I can keep it up. Regardless I need to workout at least one hour a day and I don't do it in the a.m. it's not going to happen. The day gets busy…
  • Welcome! I'm so sorry for all you have been through. My advice is to treat today as a new day. The past no longer exists and the future is insignificant. All that matters right now is today. Live in the now and do the best you can do TODAY and realize that if you make a mistake, which you will, you'll put it behind you and…
  • They have Zumba classes through my town's park district and I sign up for them every time they offer them. I love love love Zumba. You do sweat like crazy and I've noticed not only the good work out but that I feel more flexible in my hips and it gives me a sexy walk! LOL
  • Good for you! Enjoy your success and keep up the good work!
  • I'm so proud of you for taking these steps to get where you want to get. We'll do this together! Log in every day, track everything you eat and get some exercise and it'll be a piece of cake!
  • I could not stick to this change in my eating without my evening sweet treat so I always make sure I have at least 150 calories left at the end of the day so I can have one of my single serving cups of skinny cow or edy's light ice cream. YUM!
  • let me know your user name on endomondo and we can "friend" there! Might be fun to kind of challenge eachother!
  • There is a book I bought called Eat What You Love by Marlene Koch. It has great recicepes of food that we love to eat but which are low in sugar, fat and calories. There is a Pumpkin Pie Milkshake that I haen't made yet but sounds great! 1/3 cup canned pumpkin 1/2 cup low fat milk 1/2 cup light, no-sugar added vanilla ice…
  • If you have a smart phone like an iPhone or Blackberry or Droid then you can download an application called Endomondo. Its free! It will track how far you go, map your route, tell you how fast you went etc. I love it. I'm not sure what you would do if you don't have some kind of device that has GPS on it so you can track…
  • I would like to quit coffee myself but I don't think it's possible! Good work and amazing loss!
  • I would first try to play it in something other than Windows Media Player such as QuickTime which you can download from Apple. I did a quick google search on your error (always the first step when trying to troubleshoot an error message) and came across this forum which has a lot of good advice you can try. Good luck…
  • Thanks for the tip! I love love love Mexican and have worried about how I might handle that when I have my next Mexican restraunt meal. Great idea!!!
  • I know EXACTLY how you feel. Mine was very similar and I have a horrible scar that goes from belly button to beyond. I call it my front butt! LOL I'm so happy so many women who have had c-sections report being able to get that flat tummy look again but I"m afraid that's never going to happen for some of us who had very…
  • Hate to break it to you but once those muscles are cut and you have that "mother's apron" your doctor is right. A tummy tuck is about all you'll ever be able to do to get a truly flat stomach again. I had an emergency c-section in 2007 and they cut me vertically and then basically ripped my stomach open to get my son out…
  • I tend to indulge more on the weekends but I work out as much as possible so I have the extra calories to play with. It's probably not what you want to hear but either work out and get the extra net calories and then eat those calories OR simply stick to your calorie count. I've been on maybe two months now....not…
  • Welcome! I found MFP about a month ago and I'm totally addicted and already down almost 10 pounds. I credit hard work on my part of course but certainly credit also goes to the tools and support of MFP. You'll get there! Good luck. If you need motivation friend me!!!
  • Good for you! Your motivation for me. I only have 5 more pounds before I no longer see that hated 2 ! Keep up the good work. We are rooting for you!
  • Welcome! I found this site a few weeks ago and I'm already down 6 pounds. I love this site, the tools and the support! I think you will do great here! Good luck and just keep it up one day at a time doing the best you can do each day. :flowerforyou:
  • HI & Welcome! I'm fairly new myself. I think I've been here about 2.5 weeks and I've already lost some weight, learned some fantastic new habits and feel so motivated and I credit it to this site and my ability to adapt and start making new lifestyle choices. I think you'll love the tools and the people. I've never been…
  • Your message resonates with me because I seem to judge myself just as harshly as you have been judged. God works in mysterious ways as I was feeling really down and low energy today and reading this reminded me why I'm working so hard. Thank you and you should be proud of yourself and your insight at such a young age. Your…
  • Good for you! I can't even imagine looking down at the scale and seeing a weight your happy with! It must be a fantastic feeling. So happy for you!
  • I TRY to only weigh once a week and I chose Friday. I decided on that date because I may go to a party or not do as well on a weekend as I do during the week and weighing Friday gives me time to get back on track. I've just begun all of this so maybe I'll change later but so far this is working for me. I am still committed…
  • You can do it and we are here to help. Take advantage of all the wonderful tools on this site!

  • I'm not sure since I don't know what the app your interested in really does. If the app "talks" back and forth between your iPad and the internet then yes you'll need to be connected to the internet. For an example. If you use the mfp app when you add foods or exercises etc then it's moving that information from your phone…

  • I think you'd like it BUT it will depend on where you plan to use it. Will you be using it in a location where you have access to a wireless network? If not, then you will need to buy the wireless/3G model and sign up for a data plan through AT&T. See below for costs. Keep in mind this will basically be an iPhone on…

  • Wow! What a huge inspiration you are to me and so many others here! You should be so proud of yourself. Congratulations. You enjoy that feeling!
  • While I don't disagree with you, as I've been pretty bowled over by how much some people exercise too.....we can't judge. You and I may call it obsessed while those doing it may call it their boredom/stress busters or their "play" time or flat out their attempt to feel good when maybe other areas of their life may not feel…
  • Amen!
  • Good for you staring new habits and routines! My first day was Monday and I'm on nutrisystem and keeping track here also. I found this site and fell in love with the tools and the people who are so supportive! I hope you have the same experiences and I wish you the very best of luck on your journey!
