I'm far from an expert, but my understanding is for your muscles to get the nutrients they need to repair you should take a whey protein, perferrably one with soy in it within an hour of strength training. Whey, because it's the most broken down so it is as readily available as possible for your body to ingest and start…

I say if you are looking for something new and WW seems right for you then go for it. I LOVE WW! I did it a year ago (along with many other times) and it really got me off to a good start. After about 6 months I got burned out and found something new. It was great place for me to start to get my eating under control and…

True for me as well. I was at 1200 for a long time. I lost 35 # then was stuck for over a month. I up'd my calories to 1440 and the scale is moving again!

Give it a couple weeks. If it continues then up your calories by 200 or so, but at least give yourself some time for your body to adjust.

Woohoo! Congrats.

Kind of hard to tell because you are pulling the dress away from your body so I can't really tell your shape but I can see a difference in your face.

What kinds of things can you have?

The plan is not to eat them but if I'm hungry then I do.

Very interesting. Point made but will say that the left is male, right is female. Notice how compressed her diaphragm is, granted his is a closer X-ray but you can definitely tell that his lungs have do much more room!

You can measure the width of you elbow. That's supposed to tell you if you have a small, medium or large frame. You'll have to look up the actual measurements for which is which.

I try to use many things to gauge my success. I ran further/longer/faster, lifted more weight or more reps than last time. I see muscles I never knew I had before, my clothes are looking better, I feel stronger, I'm being healthier, and the scale is just another tool. None of these define my efforts but they are little…

I used to take one day off a week, no counting calories or exercise. To mentally and physically get a break otherwise I'd feel like you do and then I'd start to find reasons not to workout and eventually stop all together. With that you have to expect that you will be up the next day. For this reason I set up rules for my…

Anyone who has done this for any real length of time has been exactly where you are. Through trial and error I have found what works for me to get myself back where I want/need to be. Day #1: write everything down, regardless of how bad it is I write everything down. Day #2: do better than day #1, doesn't matter by how…

No, he is built like a linebacker. There is usually about 100# difference between us. We are both losing weight and it is a good little competition. I'm currently winning!

I do workout BUT I don't typically do as much or as intense as normal, depends on how I'm feeling but I still at least do something, even if it's just walking, but typically I can muster up enough energy to at LEAST walk at a 5-7.5 incline.

I'd figure out what your maintenance calories needed to maintain weight and add 300 for pregnancy to give you an idea of how much you should be eating. With that said, my mother weighed less 9 months pregnant with me than when she first got pregnant. With that said she was following a diet that was all about regular food…

I have PB2, don't think it's very tasty on it's own but mixed with things I think it's good.

What do you all do about the hormonal lack of motivation? I struggle with this every month, I do great every other time. Any ideas??

That is a hard habit to break. Right now I'm doing pretty good with it. A few things I've tried I'll sit and do my nails while watching TV at night, buff and clear polish, hey my hands look GREAT! LOL. I'm currently addicted to Crystal Light, I'm a sweets snacker so I think this helps my sweet tooth. Sometimes it's really…

Everyone is different and what works for one may not for another. I find for me I keep those foods I tend to overeat out of the house. Even those 100 cal snacks, some of them are SUPER yummy problem is I'll eat a whole box! So I don't buy them anymore.

Schedule an appt with the plastic surgeon. I've never had a flat stomach add in 3 c-sections and believe that when I reach goal there will be extra skin. I want to finally be proud of my body and not embarrassed.

When I started over a year ago this was the case. BUT I made the decision purposefully to not have an exercise buddy, I wanted to succeed or fail on my own, if I didn't follow through I wanted no one to blame but myself. Plus no one to pursuade me to go to Starbucks rather than go to the gym. Since then I have made friends…

I do and have for awhile. I pick at most one day a week as a free day, no counting calories. Multiple reasons really. Mentally when I need a break from counting and not think about it, secondly I believe giving the body a bit extra helps to prevent plateuas or lack of weight loss due to decreased calorie intake. I do have…
