  • Sounds very familiar! I'm Amy, 35, married w/ 3 kids (9,7,4). I'm a RN and work night shift. I'm 5'9" Highest weight: 206 Current: 180 Goal: 150 I've been successful before and one component is surrounding myself with like-minded people. Unfortunately no one in my life right now is in that place. Which is why I'm here, MFP…
  • A little experience under my belt. Hubby has been in the Army for 16 years, we've been married for 10 years. We've been separated 2 1/2 years total. A year to Korea, then his return assignment he was home 45 days then deployed to Iraq for 7 months. Then home for 18 months and deployed back to Iraq for 14 months. There is…
  • I'd think that is too low for a 19 year old male. I'm a fan of www.intense-workout.com, if you click on the lose weight tab there is an article that tells you how to figure out how many calories you need to consume to maintain your weight and then how to adjust it to lose. Also if you start losing too much or not at all it…
  • There are so many factors that go into your weight. First of all, remember the scale is just a tool, it isn't the ultimate deciding factor in your efforts. You could be the best at everything you eat and do and still the scale may not reflect your efforts. It's all about creating a healthier version of you. Congrats on…
  • Go to Settings, in the blue banner at the top you will then see "Goals" click on that. Then there is a button at the bottom that says to update, click that and do custom. Then you can adjust your own calories. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you need an extra 500 calories when breastfeeding, it's 300 when pregnant. If…
  • Welcome! I started on WW in Jan 2011, I LOVE WW!! It was a great start but at about 5-6 month range I was getting tired of counting points and needed something fresh. So I originally joined another site similar to MFP and then came across this site and have been here since. I really love it! Best of luck on your journey.
  • Ditto what everyone else has already said. I LOVE the phone app, I use it multiple times a day still to scan barcodes and all the nutrition info pulls right up! It makes tracking super easy for all of us that have so many things going on in our lives.
  • For me typically no more than 1-2 days. Drink lots of water to help move it out and it should come off pretty quick.
  • My understanding is 2#/ week if you have more to lose, for those who have less to lose .5-1#/week. I'm closing in on my goal weight and losing 2+ pounds per week doesn't seem right for being so close to goal. Don't get me wrong it does feel hard to complain considering just a month ago I couldn't lose anything. But like I…
  • When I started I noticed I was always hungry at the same times each day which didn't always correlate with a 'meal'. Based on when I was hungry I figured out my meals and rough calorie split for the day. For me: Breakfast 6:30 Snack. 9 Lunch 11:30 Snack 2:30 Dinner 5 Snack 8 (if hungry)
  • ???? I'm eating 200 cal more
  • Trust what you are doing is right until proven otherwise. It takes time to see real results, whenever I change things up I make a point to stick with it for at least 2 weeks, if after that time it is obvious that it isn't working than I change it up, if it's not obvious give it another week. Be honest and diligent. And…
  • All kinds, not so much into the hardcore rap or metal but I don't mind a bit of both. I used to be really into country, now it seems I prefer top 40 kind of music. Whatever really. I can ride a unicycle, lol. What is your most and least favorite thing about yourself?
  • I'm a stay at home mommy, I work every day. Can't wait until I can go back to work again. Love my kiddos but I love my job too, a little envious of all of you "at work".
  • Same to you Tasha. Beautiful big blue eyes!
  • If you had asked this question last Friday night the answer would have been completely opposite (girls trip to Vegas). This weekend, and the next two weeks for that matter I'm home with my 3 munchkins while hubby is working.
  • I was thinking about this post during my workout today and have decided the best way to approach a woman at the gym is to give her a compliment. A legitimate one and leave it at that. Don't turn it into something about you, just short and sweet. If it were me that would be the least creepy way, and I could totally see that…
  • You respond with "Thank you handsome"
  • I did WW online beginning of last year it was a great place for me to start. Then after about 6 months I mentally needed a change. Went to a couple different sites before finding myself here and I love it. Best of luck with your transition, just remember nothing is in stone, try it and if it doesn't work you can always go…
  • Heck why not, as if anyone is actually still reading this long thread. RN by trade, currently a stay at home mother
  • I'm a pretty social person but have to admit, not so much at the gym. With that said, I see nothing wrong with attempting a conversation at the gym. Don't be creepy about it, if it's busy pick a machine next to or if not busy one over. Then just make small comment, maybe something on the news or about the weather,…
  • Lynnwood High School Technically our mascot was Chimeras, some greek mythical creature that had lion head, goat body and a snake tail. Obviously not the easiest name to cheer so we went by Royals.
  • The weight is almost gone, I feel sexier than ever and my husband definitely comments alot more about how good I look and sex is so much more fun.
  • I'm 5'9"-ish. Highest was when I was pregnant which I don't think really counts but others have posted. It was 220#. Starting weight: 206.6 CW: 160.2 GW: 140-150 (I've never been there so Ill figure it out when I get there) I do have to say that of those I've seen that are similar height they seem to be in that range.
  • I'm 5'9" started a year ago at 206.6, currently at 163.2, 150 is my first goal weight. I've never been that weight before so I'm not sure how it'll feel when I get there. Feel free to add me, my feeling the more the merrier!
  • Hi Mari, I'm Amy! I was 206.6 when I started and would love to pass along whatever helpful info I can. Friend request coming your way!
  • And that website recommended Optimum Nutrition. He gives his rationael on his website but that's the one I got and I like it.
