How many days do you retain after a massive sodium meal?!

I was down to 145.6 (FINALLY) on Saturday morning and had a late night out with friends involving lots of Sushi (soy sauce) and peanuts (I know, weird combination...whatever) and I cannot seem to get back down to 145 again. I am stuck back at 148. Is it possible I really gained three pounds from that night?! I ran about 12 miles the next day, and my pedometer told me I burned 1400 calories. What gives? I can never have any type of meal that isn't carrots again without gaining?!?!?!?

For me typically no more than 1-2 days. Drink lots of water to help move it out and it should come off pretty quick.

It could be that you have retained water due to an increase in sodium. It will go over time, so don't get obsessed about it.

Soy Sauce has a lot of sodium in it, depending on which type you decide to have. If I am ever using Soy Sauce, I use the Reduced Salt version, it's like half the amount of sodium, even then, I don't use a lot.

Also, if the peanuts were salted, which if they are, are usually coated in the stuff, that would be why. If you are having a craving for nuts, try and find some nuts without any salt. I know you said you went out with friends on the night, but try and bring a bag of salt free nuts or something lol. Bring your own soy sauce if you have to >.<
