Congratulations on 13lbs gone. Line up 13lbs of butter and see how much that is. GREAT job! Keep it going, you can do it. I'm just starting my journey AGAIN! I'm 52.

Thanks kiwigal.... Nice to hear from someone over 50. My job is a change. One year ago I was Work Force Adjusted and placed elsewhere. I'm in the process of trying to move elsewhere in my job. I have this love/fear of food. I'm afraid of the good things like a date loaf or a cream cheese treat so I deprive myself and then…

Add me to this list. I'm at my heaviest weight again simply because over time I became complacent. Add menopause in a total house reno and a new job. Stress drives me to my love of sugar. I need to smarten up and get back on track!!

I have been on bio-identical hormones for over a year and they have certainly helped with the hot flashes. Thanks to everyone for their replies. I will definately check out the over 50 thread.

There is definately a correlation between belly fat and sugar. I quit sugar for 30 days once and felt fabulous. Then I thought I could have "a little", but the addiction quickly takes over. What has worked for me, about 4 years ago, was eating clean and weight training. This past 6 months has been stressful with a home…

Wow! Thanks guys for the show of support. I love that. I'm no stranger to fitness. I ran my first Marathon at age 44 and again at 50. Although the age 50 one was for pure vanity. I don't like being in my 50's. My demise over and over again is sugar. I seriously need to give it up!

1200 calories per day does not even support your body systems. You will not achieve the result you want doing it this way.

We eat non foods such as all the processed items in the interior isles of the grocery store. 50 yrs ago we did not have fast food or the volume of grocery store choices we have today. We have not evolved enough to listen to our bodies, we listen instead to our brain…

Wyndesnow....we have the power within ourselves to change ourselves, our thinking and the lives of our families. I think you are going a great thing. I'm don't like milk, but I like almond milk and use it in a few things I make. I so know the feeling of 'not feeling well' after eating something. For me it's sugar. White…

Hi there. You need to eat more. Plain and simple. 1400 calories is not enough to support a 154lb body, never mind lose the weight. Trust me on this. I've starved myself to get to goals never to achieve for more than a day or 2 before the weight goes back up. Once I started eating more of the right foods (think protein,…

I'm a holistic nutritionist, so I am not looking for sugar replacements as I don't believe they are health supporting. Even dried fruit sends me into a binge. I think my body doesn't accept sugar well and wrecks havoc on my mental and physical well being. Maple syrup is okay as are fruits that are higher in fibre like…
