  • Yes ^^^ Here's another article that I think sums it up well and is written by a very trusted nutrition/training guru (Tom Venuto). http://www.burnthefat.com/get_six_pack_abs_that_POP.html
  • Finally! I was waiting to hear someone speak out against a lot of the myth thrown around here! Showing your abs, or any other muscle for that matter, comes down to 2 things: building underlying muscle and losing the fat on top. Abs are no exception. Losing the fat on top (anywhere on the body) means you need to be in a…

  • Remember, when you do finally get a chance to talk to her, it's important to work in to the conversation every bit of personal knowledge you have about her. That way she'll know you you really care about the details of her life. If you've been doing your homework, and it sounds like you have, you've accumulated quite a…
  • Where are you gonna get your vitamins tho?
  • They made a documentary about her actually. It's called Monster In Law :ohwell:
  • Also, see this link from the Bodybuilding group here on MFP: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/415355-improving-grip-strength
  • MFP (obviously) Pandora Stronglifts (is my workout tracker) Yelp (to find anything anywhere, is better than Siri) Mapquest (replaces my GPS) Sportacular
  • I am SO sorry for your loss! Obviously there is no reason to feel bad about not gym-going & nutrition when life hits you that hard; not in my book anyway. I hope all gets better for you from here on out. :flowerforyou:
  • Ok, let me say, even tho I poke fun at it. It is a good workout to do. I'm not P90X anymore now, but I did 3 rounds of it last year. And I pretty much did the Yoga about half the time (subbed other times). Yoga is very good for giving your muscles good recovery and elasticity, which is def needed if you're stressing them.…

  • I guess since Michael Phelps' races are minutes long at best, he shouldn't count it as exercise.
  • I think one of the selling points of the Spike Diet (at least the one that's popular around here in MFP land) is that the leptin levels are allegedly raised for the whole week. OP is refuting this. I do think, however, that it could offer an energy/phsychological boost for that brief 24~ hour period. And I don't think OP…

  • As this topic has come up several times the last couple days, I'd refer you to a couple other threads, particularly the first: 1. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/518319-hiit-cardio-explained-a-great-way-to-run 2. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/521324-hiit-am-i-even-close
  • No, there should be a max time for it to be considered HIIT. You should run (or whatever) at basically as high an intensity as you can, which will be mean you're ready to give out after 10-30 seconds. Then a short rest, then do it again. You should probably only be able to do that 4 - 8 times before you're totally gassed.…
  • Yep, my 4 pack will never be a 6 pack. It can't happen.
  • I was just faced with this too. Is there any chance you can parlay the option 1 into a raise with your current job? It would sure make the decision easy.
  • I used one in combo with a 50 ft rope attached. We'd load it up with weight, and then I'd bend at the hips & pull the rope one hand over the other til the sled came to me. It was similar to rowing but one arm at a time. After four lengths I was gassed. It's good auxiliary work for back & shoulders & lats.

  • Honestly for a 5K WD, I think just training by running is fine. From my experience the obstacles aren't going to be so imposing that it'll really work you hard. In fact, often times there's kind of a line to get thru the obstacle, which gives you a bit of a rest from the race. They're mostly just really fun. If you really…
  • It's what happens when you drink pop too fast
  • I swear I will never, ever leave this wonderful..... ....deactivated

  • Smart enough to use mfp :) not smart enough to stay away from the forums :(
  • and it's not just on MFP. According to today's pop culture a guy can't dress himself, think for himself, is capable of only serving himself & his most primal desires... In fact, provided he's white, he's the only one where it's always open season and no holds barred on insulting him. right hun? or did I say that wrong?

  • This was the song used (loudly) at my university library at 11:45 pm to usher you out. Not that I was ever there that late to study, but naturally I grew to hate it.
  • I haven't actually done any races for about a year now, but when I was, I'd only do a very light run the day before. Generally this would be like a mile or mile & a half. Just enough to get warmed up & keep my body used to running, but I didn't wanna spend any serious energy the day before the race.
