Awww... Broscience at it's finest!

Yep, it was the very fact that I felt I needed the pad that told me my bar position wasn't quite right. when I first started out squatting I had the bar in contact with some of the vertebrae on my neck, which is too high. Now I kinda squeeze myself up into to the bar & get it resting on my trap muscles where it should be;…

I think it should be a means to an end. After logging for so long hopefully you're learning how to judge the caloric content (& other things) about the foods you're eating. And hopefully you're learning what healthy things you like & how to prepare them & the benefits of planning ahead, & about what exercise suits you…

Yes ^^^ It really depends on what you're primarily after, cuz they're built for different purposes. I use my FT4 for cardio tracking WHEN I'm doing true steady state cardio only. The fitbit would be useful for getting a more accurate count of your typical daily expenditure, but not as accurate as the HRM during intense…

Look at you RD! In just 3-4 months that's AWESOME progress! Congrats! :drinker:

Pfff.... a crossing glance & a kind word would be great! Not gonna happen though. :grumble:

While I was in high school it was Holden Caulfield from from Catcher in the Rye. Imagine my surprise when I get to the end & realize he's recounting his whole story from a shrink's couch.

This is directly from an old Bill Cosby routine - "Dad is great.... he gives us chocolate cake!"

Commando does not work for a guy... ...unless you're into juggling

Looks like you and your hub did it together! That's awesome! Congrats on your success!

Thanks guys, the high socks were a great help! Not sure why I didn't think of that in the first place. Even tho I look like a dork wearing em, it was a good thing I still had some knee-high stripers sitting in the back of my sock drawer. Now they have a purpose

This ^^^ The not caring as much about your looks thing is just one of many factors that change once you're married. There's just generally more to worry about in life when it's not just all about you as a single person. When there are other competing priorities, fitness/nutrition can tend to go on the back burner for a lot…

- I go running outta there shame-faced cuz if there's no urinals, it's not a men's restroom - just apply it against my pile of bills to paid - chef, definitely.

This is no joke ^^^. Lowfat chocolate milk is one of the best recovery drinks you can have. And $ for $, it is definitely the best and best tasting!

I "Tebow" after every big lift. Actually, I'm just catching my breath on one knee, but "Tebowing" sounds better.

There's this one dude, he's actually a good guy, I talk to him once in a while, just a little... off. He does hard workouts about 5 or 6 times a week but before & after each one he enjoys a good long smoke just outside the gym. It kinda surprises me how hard he can go even with the smoking habit. hmm... maybe it's not…

Nope, that's pretty much all you can have.... broth, jello, non-dairy drinks.... oh, and popsicles. Is this your first? I go in for my....um 6th or 7th in a month. Never fun

Just re-read it. So just to be clear, when it talks of de-loading, it means you've now failed at the squat or bench or DL for 3 successive attempts (a Monday on DL, a Friday on DL, & then a Weds on DL for example). You then go de-load by 10% of the weight you were failing at, on that exercise only. You then continue the…
-
I agree with this ^^^. Also, I thought the deload protocol was after failing for 3 attempts on a given workout, you just need to deload by 10%, not switch to 3x5. I'll go re-read it I guess. Have you used their downloadable app (for iPhone or Android)? It's awesome! It tells you exactly what sets/reps/weight to use based…

Haha... tongue exercises?
-
Jealous of long toes. Mine are like stubs. In fact, a couple pair are webbed - good for swimming though
-
I have a talented tongue. I can do this ^^^ I can touch my tongue to my nose (without hands) I can flip my tongue over, either direction. I can do the Gene Simmons tongue wagging thing
-
Haha... "I always do them standing (that’s how you pee, so that’s how you press)" Hey, two birds with one stone I guess

If you're av is even somewhat accurate, I'd say don't be in a deficit any longer. Only beginning lifters that are obese can have some (marginal) muscle gains with a cal deficit.

Thank you, yes! ^^^ There are a lot of folks that have been around this site for several months, had some success, have learned a thing or two and think they've learned it all. Then they go around e-bludgeoning anyone who doesn't know the few things they know. And they think they're being funny. They forget that they were…

Haha! Even more respected when you do it from the squat rack...

38... but I've been told I have the maturity of a much younger man

The "fatso" reporting was actually sarcasm. But, yeah, the lynching that goes on in the Chit Chat section gets tiring after a while.
