  • Abe knew what's up. I may be on the computer tomorrow (the real one, not this little purse computer). If I already have a picture of my armadillo, I'll try to figure out how to get it uploaded.
  • I should but I probably won't. It sounds like a lot of extra work honestly, getting someone to take the picture, getting that onto my computer, logging onto here on same computer. Ugh, who has time for that. Plus, surely you can just take my word on it, right? What could be more trustworthy than a random stranger on the…
  • I love armadillos. And yes I know they are invasive and destructive and can carry leprosy, lol. I'm just jealous of anything that can roll itself into an armored ball to avoid its problems. My tribute tattoo for my dead granny includes an armadillo. :)
  • This is one of the best threads I've ever seen. Please don't ever stop posting these pictures, guys!
  • I bought a weighted hoop a couple of years ago, I never could figure out the trick to hooping when I was young but then decided to try when I read it's easier with a heavier hoop. I actually surprised myself when I managed to do it! I never could keep it up for more than a few minutes though, and haven't touched it in…
  • You can change your taste buds, but it takes time. For instance if you're eating a lot of highly processed food on the road, a lot of that is greasy and salty, and if that's how you're used to food tasting, the less greasy/salty foods may be really bland and boring. So I think at first it's just a matter of eating the…
  • What kind of schooling/training did you need for your job? Are there entry level jobs in that line of work?
  • I had to tighten the straps on my bra, and use the middle set of hooks instead of the biggest!
  • Those months are going to pass regardless. Do you want to be two months older and 10 pounds lighter? Or two months older and the same weight? See, it's just a head game.
  • My husband tried a juice fast a few years ago, blending all his own veggie and fruit juices. He did lose a lot of weight, felt great, skin looked great. He did eat some food but did juices I'd say probably 80% of the time for 60 days IIRC. Since then he's gained back everything he'd lost, and then some. As has already been…
  • I agree with the others that it's easier once it's a habit, but wanted to add I recently went through a few weeks where working out got really hard, I was already in the habit of getting up and doing something most days but suddenly I had the hardest time getting motivated, I still did them but couldn't keep up my normal…
  • YES! I mean, my friend likes them.
  • Is that a Son of Beast? Or something like that?
  • In addition to the other advice you've already gotten, a good massage therapist might be able to help with the trigger point issue. Good luck with everything!
  • Same here, I started reporting only half of my exercise time on here because I kept reading that the estimated calorie burns were inaccurate. It's been working well for me; it's enough extra calories that I'm not starving even on days I work out more, and I definitely see more response weight-wise since making that change.
  • This is the best sentence I've read in ages. I wish I were a math person so I could steal this and use it for myself.
  • @jrobertson290365. forgive me if I'm misremembering, are you the same gentleman who posted earlier this summer who had walking a full mile as a goal you'd set for yourself? If so I just wanted to point out how flippin' awesome it is that you'd made that goal already! Though I do hope you can do it pain-free at some point,…
  • I'm so sorry you had to go through that, and I hope you can come to some peace with it. Nine years is already a long time to carry such a burden, emotionally. As far as the healing goes, I suspect there're too many factors to be able to predict that from one individual to the next. I delivered my first via c-section but it…
  • If I ever get to the point where the 6-8 calories daily from the oil in my coffee beans is the only thing keeping me from my goal weight, then I will adjust my goal weight. ;)
  • The therapists at my chiropractor's office did a few different therapies when I went through that the first half of the year. They mostly did some kind of deep heat therapy followed by myofascial release. A few sessions of deep tissue massage too. It seemed to help, but it still took me about 6 months to recover (but I…
  • Lol... If I can get a pic I will share! It's easy to get him to do it, I know just how to annoy him, but getting a picture quick enough would be the challenge. He'll do it sometimes on stage but we have no shows coming up, plus obviously then I'd have my hands full. Back to the music though, I used to have an mp3 player…
  • There's also the fact that some breasts are made up of denser tissue than others, and that's just luck of the draw genetic-wise. If yours are more on the fatty end they may sag worse, but like others have said, I don't think there's any predicting that in advance.
  • Amon Amarth is fantastic. Slipknot's Iowa was (for a while) my go-to for the treadmill but I haven't dug that out in ages. Vader and Behemoth. Anthrax. Crowbar. Lately though most of my workouts have been outside and I don't listen to anything but birds, bugs, and traffic. And I don't work out to him, but holy cow, that…
  • Metal bassist, if I were technologcally astute I would post links lol.
  • I absolutely agree with the above... I've had plenty of days where the motivation came from the getting up and doing, not the other way around. Sometimes when I really don't want to do anything I'll tell myself I'll just walk instead of run. Or I'll just go out for 10-15 minutes instead of 30. Or I'll get on the bike but…
  • Oldschool metalhead right here, add me if you want!
  • Is there any other exercise you could try in addition to walking? If your back issues are stunting your progress there, maybe back off the distances you're walking temporarily, and try something lower impact (like swimming, yoga, stationary bike just off the top of my head) as a supplement. Then once you've lost a bit more…
  • Thank you! I've been debating joining the gym near my house specifically for strength training, but I am clueless and horrified of the free weight area. This is exactly the help I needed!
  • Active as in working out often, or checking in here often? I try to do both. :) and I'm kind of in the same boat, all my friends on here disappear for months at a time so I'm the only one ever liking my own status, haha.
  • Hey all. I mostly just lurk but I'm alive.
