I didn't order any of the new flavor but I did place on an order on GNC for 40% off last night for 4 boxes and bought another 6 boxes off the quest site this morning for 25% off and free shipping. I think GNC sale is still on but they are higher than the quest website. I got my favs: Choc Chip Cookie dough, Chocolate…

I was on a 1200 cal food plan before I had WLS sleeve surgery from 2/1/12 till pre op liquid diet two weeks before surgery date of 6/11/12. The WLS nutritionist said to intake 1400 cals but I did 1200 pre op and lost 47 pounds during that time. After my WLS sleeve I struggled to get in 500 cals the first couple months but…

Yes, I no longer need wide width. I used to wear a 9 or 1 1/2 and now wear 8 1/2 or 9 reg width. What I really like is now being able to wear tall boots. I went kinda boot crazy last winter and bought 5 pairs! I could never wear tall boots before even the wide calf boots were too small for my calves. Good luck!

I went to a plastics consultation last year and it was like $40,000 to have all I wanted to have done. I decided I would just live with the loose skin. It doesn't seem to matter with clothing sizes as I can wear size small tops even with the bat wings and size 4 or 6 pants/jeans with loose skin in belly. Sometimes the…

Go to Salvation Army or Goodwill to get clothes while you are loosing. You will only be wearing them 3 weeks or so before you have to get smaller sized ones. Take your "too big clothes" to a consignment store to sell. Use that money to buy used ones. I did this while using and made money off my plus size clothes and then…

I had GERD bad before my WLS Sleeve in June 2012. When they did my sleeve they found a hital hernia and fixed that also. I have had no GERD issues at all post op and do not take Prilosec like I had to take on a daily basis before WLS. My surgeon did say that the sleeve can make GERD worse but for me it was the opposite. It…

57 Grams of protein a day isn't very much really. As other said, Quest bars the best. Expensive but worth it. I bought some Pure Protein bars Tuesday and ate one for dinner and I now remember why I love Quest bars the best. The Pure Protein bars just didn't taste good and I felt like crap after one too. The Quest bars have…

I just bought a Schwinn Elliptical off Walmart.com at site to store delivery. Others were selling it for $399 and walmart.com had it for $329 and free shipping. I just picked it up last night after work and my boyfriend is putting it together for me today while I am at work and he is off. It's a Schwinn A40. I didn't want…

I bought some last year at Walmart. It is pretty pricey considering it is pretty tasteless and is like eating flavored ice! I would rather have real ice cream or just go through a drive through and get a cone myself. Skinny Cow fudge bars are good and so are their Ice Cream sandwiches. Local Aldi stores have the Skinny Cow…

I buy mine at GNC locally. I think right now they are buy 3 get 1 free. I am a gold card member so I get them for like $2.39 a bar and then I usually have a $10 off coupon when I buy them so I get 12 bars for $16.88 w sales tax and that makes them $1.41 a bar. I try to stock up on them when on sale and usually will go…

Congrat on your success so far! You might up your cals some for a week and then drop them back down. How much exercise cals do you burn a day? If you are only eating 900 cals and burning more than 300 cals in exercise daily you might be not consuming enough cals too!

I love Quest bars! I was worried about all the fiber in them also but they agree with me good. I can't eat Fiber One bars. They make me ill and this was long before WLS Sleeve surgery. I can eat the Fiber One Brownies and Cookies with no issues though.

You look great! Congrats on your weight loss! I need the same plastic surgery for my loose skin but when I went to Plastics dr it was like $10,000 just for those two combo surgeries and my insurance would not pay zip! I hate my batwing upper arms. I still wear cap sleeves and sleeveless and you can see my arm muscles from…

"Understand, but what keeps them from eating 1900 calories and starting an exercise program? If they are large, they got that way from eating unhealthy and to much and no exercise (most of them). Since they have to follow a strict program with surgery why can't they start that without the surgery? Many on here do and are…

I haven't seen locally at any stores that usually carry Quest protein bars. I did ask for a sample of them from the Quest website but I don't know if they will send them out or not. They will for the bars. I have tried HealthWise Protein Chips online from Bariatric Choice website and they are good. I used to eat them alot…

My only regret is I waited till I was 47 to have my sleeve surgery! I don't regret having my WLS sleeve at all. Best thing I have ever done. I had it on 6/11/12 and lost 47 pounds pre op from 2/2012 till surgery day and then lost the rest of my weight by April 2013. I have been in maintenance since then. I got as low as…

Just two days ago I looked at the NoGii protein bars. I was gonna buy some but when I saw they were almost 290 calories for one bar, I put it back on the shelve! Quest bars usually have around 160-180 cals per bar. I will stick with Quest bars. I have tried Power Crunch bars and they are very yummy but not as much protein…

My WLS surgeon told me the sleeve can make GERD or acid reflux worse for a while right after surgery. I had bad acid reflux pre op for years. When they did my sleeve they found a hital hernia and repaired it while in there and I haven't had any more acid reflux post op from sleeve and hital hernia. I think it might be…

I love Quest brand protein bars. I usually eat one a day. At first I could only eat about 1/2 a Quest bar but I am now 2 plus years out from sleeve WLS and can eat a whole bar now. My WLS nut. thinks the Quest bars are great since most the carbs in them are fiber carbs or "good for you" carbs. I only buy them when on sale…

The burn of 506 might be correct for your weight for that period of time. I am in the 130's at 5'4" and burn 300 cals in 30 minutes and get my heartrate up to 170 or more. I try not to get it up that high but it is hard not to push myself I guess. I have tried getting my heart rate up and then slowing down to lower it and…

I've had the Polar FT7 for almost a year now. I am able to see how many calories I burn during the time frame I hit the watch to start and stop along with fat burn, fitness burn and ave heart rate and max heart rate on the FT7. You just have to remember to hit the watch when you start your workout and then hit it again to…

It depends on what your weight is as to how many calories you burned. I can burn 300 calories on an elliptical machine at the gym in 30 minutes. I use a Polar HRM FT7 that has a chest strap. I can stay on any type of exercise equipment more than 30 minutes or I get really bored and have found that the elliptical machine…

Today is a new day. Just get back on your program today. You can do it!

As tempting as trigger foods being brought into your house or foods you want to avoid, the choice is really yours. That is life. After surgery those foods are still going to be there. That drive in fast food is still there. You have to be responsible for your choices. No one else can be. As for myself and the weight loss…

I forgot to mention you can view Leslie S's walking videos on YouTube for free. Also You Tube has exercises you can do while sitting in a chair also.
-
Leslie S's Walk Away the Pounds dvds are great! You can stay in your PJs and walk in your house in front of your tv. I did this when I first starting loosing weight and walked 1-2 miles every morning before work and then would do another 1-2 miles after work. In fact a group of us at work used to do the 1 mile walk in 30…

My nutritionist told me that a person needs 130 grams or more of carbs a day for healthy brain function. I think it depends on what type of carbs you eat to be honest. Non processed food carbs are much better than junk food carbs. Carbs with high fiber are very good too like Quest bars. Most of the carbs are fiber carbs so…
