My gym workouts sometimes only last 30 minutes too but for me it was worth the investment. If you are just walking or doing stairs or running for exercise than the fitbit would be ok. If you want to know your heart rate and how many cals burn, and stuff like that then you need a HRM with a chest strap. I had a gift card…

I have a fitbit one and a Polar FT7 HRM. Buy a Polar HRM and don't buy a Fitbit of any kind. Fit bit only picks up steps, stairs, running. It doesn't pick up biking, ellpitical or can be worn in pool for swimming or water workout classes. I wish I would have save a $100 and not have bought the fitbit one. I still wear it…

780 days of loging for me. I love MFP! I log everything I eat and am honest about what I eat. I have been at maintence level for about 11 months now. Good luck!

The best you can do is call your Canada health system and ask? From looking at your profile pic your loose skin isn't that bad or noticable compared to mine from loosing 130 plus pounds. I have worked out at the gym doing all kinds of strength training stuff along with cardio and it really won't help with loose skin. Your…

I try to go right after work if I can. Paying $43 a month motivates me to go 2-3 times a week or more also. I feel better when I go and workout. Somedays I don't wanna go but once I get there and workout I feel so much better!! You have to make it a priority in your life!

Yes you should. I always drink while working out. I usually down 24 oz in less than one hour of workouts. You must stay hydrated!

Depends on the weight of the person I guess. Best way to tell is wear a Polar Heart Rate Monitor watch. It will tell you exactly how many cals burned and time your work out lasted. Ave heart rate, max heart rate, fitness burn minutes and fat burn minutes. I love my Polar FT7! It is waterproof and I use it in the pool also…

I did 25 squats and 25 lunges on 3/17/14. I am still waiting to get the info on this challenge so I don't know how many we are supposed to do. Can someone please explain?!??!?

Link didn't work for me either. Please send to me? Thanks!

You do know you can count decaf coffee or tea as your water too? Sobe 0 cal is good too. I like Fuji Apple Pear and the Raspberry Acai flavors the best. I usually the Sobe in 1/2 and only use 1/2 Sobe and 1/2 water in the bottle as it it too sweet unless I do that. I average 12-17 8 oz servings of water a day. Water really…

Ugh! I can't just pick one! I like Chocolate brownie, cookies n cream, choc chip cookie dough, peanut butter supreme the best! I always stock up on them when GNC has them on sale online for like 30 or 40% off or if I get a $10 off $20 coupon from GNC to use in their stores from being a gold club member. I got a coupon for…

My health insurance considers skin removal as cosmetic surgery and it actually states it won't cover it. My employer switched our health insurance carrier in July of 2013 and I looked over the giant book they give to find if they would. My old health insurance Health Alliance wouldn't either. Some will cover it if you have…

I posted it on one of these WLS lists on here it was in May of 2013 so I don't remember the exact price but about $8000-$10,000 per procedure and I had asked about tummy tuck, upper thigh lift, butt lift, breast lift w implants and upper arms. The surgeon would combo 2 procedures so it was gonna be like $15,000 for 2…

At your post op stage it has to be head hunger. I know for me the first 6 months I had no hunger at all and only ate cause I was told I have to and even now if I am super busy I don't get hungry. Hungry from boredom yes but that is head hunger for me. Talk to your WLS program nut and see what they say. I was good to get…

Depends. M-F I usually have the same thing for breakfast protein shake with skim milk so I log that as I am drinking it. Lunches M-F I log usually in the morning too since I know what I am taking to work to eat for lunch. Dinner is usually logged after I eat it or if it's a gym night it might be a protein bar so I might…

I had the same issue pre op WLS. Which to choose. I asked my surgeon what he would recommend for me and he said sleeve and that was kinda the way I was leaning towards also. No regrets. The sleeve has been done for years as part of two part surgery and super obese people. Many had the first part done and lost weight and…

I have bone on bone in my left knee currently and have had for about 3-4 years. I am too young and at the time was too overweight to have a knee replacement surgery (which I don't want anyways). I did alot of walking. Walk away the Pounds dvds by Leslie Sansone work great. You can walk in your house in place. I would wake…

Welcome to MFP! I am not a diabetic but after reading your post and others that have diabetes I thought I would post. I have been obese my entire life, tried every diet there was. I was a member of Weight Watchers before age 10 and loss and gained many times on WW but never reached my goal. What worked for me was weight…

My two week pre op liquid diet started on Memorial Day 2012 and I was out of town that weekend visiting a friend in Indy so we did eat out during that time before and I do admit I probably ate more than I had been since Feb 2012 since I had lost 47 pounds pre op on my own. Really once you post op 6 months or so you can…

You won't know till you try it. Can you just sign up for one class at a time. I tried the at home Zumba DVDs back in Feb 2012 when I weighed 270 pounds and two days later had horrible knee pain so I haven't tried it since even now after loosing alot of weight. My gym offers it but I am still scared I don't wanna have knee…

I love Quest bars. I usually buy mine at GNC when on sale online for 40% a box or in the store when Buy 3 get 1 bar free and then have a $10 off $20 purchase coupon. Cookies n Cream is good. My Favs are Choc brownie, choc chip cookie dough, peanut butter supreme, white choc raspberry and double choc chunk. I usually end…

Quest bars! I also use Power Crunch brand too but not as high in protein but a nice dessert type snack as a treat and very yummy frozen. I eat a Quest bar for my morning snack most days M-F and sometimes on the weekends it will be my lunch if running errands or something. I buy them when on sale at GNC usually and get them…

I had sleeve surgery 6/11/12 Post op was 270 on 2/1/12 and on surgery date was 223. WLS program surgeon doesn't give goal weight at my program but I met their "goal" of loosing % of excess weight in Dec 2012 and then met my own personal goal weight of 130 in April 2013 I think. I got as low as 124 but then started…

Well for me my health insurance won't pay for any type of skin removal so its self pay and unless I win the lottery it won't be getting done anytime soon! I don't even play the lottery either! I think my bat wings aren't as bad now due to workouts but maybe I am just getting used to the flabby skin now! I am scared of the…
