  • You absolutely can become addicted to sugar...in fact, manufactures count on it. Although we might not all be eating frosting by the spoonful, you are not alone in the mindless eating "a little of this" throughout the day. Being mindful about the habit you've developed will go a long way. Tell yourself BEFORE you go into…
  • What is your ultimate goal that you are working towards? With my limited knowledge, I definitely think you are on the right track with both nutrition and fitness. You might want to get a pre-workout drink that has amino-chains (especially for lifting days) to help push through the reps and recover your muscles a little…
  • I have a Fitbit pedometer and it links with MFP.
  • I would think that's pretty accurate for a 60-80 minute bike ride. I love my Ft4 and want to think it's pretty accurate.
  • The only one I tried was the almond coco loco and it was delicious! I should definitely get a couple of more to have on hand for a treat. Yummy.
  • ^^^THIS for sure! I know it's never fun to see an increase, but we have to remember to be realistic with ourselves too. I had a 2 lb increase in one day this week, but had to remember its TOM. 13 lbs in one week is astonishing! Keep at it and it will happen.
  • I've been using the C25k app, but they have you jogging in intervals and not sprinting. But the concepts are the same: all out, recover, repeat. Good luck!!!
  • I have a hard time believing you are so arrogant. HITT is based on exertion, and everyone has their own physical limits. The point is to spike your heart rate. For some, running at 6mph accomplishes that.
  • LOVE this idea. Maybe they would be good pants to hang out in at home in the winter months too!
  • I do it with the bigger things...loose 5 pounds, get a Starbucks for a treat. I like the idea of doing it with smaller things too!
  • The others are correct, the TDEE method has already calculated your burned calories into the equation. There is no netting of food. That is why it is important to select the correct "activity level" when determining your calorie intake and deficits. Hope that helps.
  • You look great! And I love that you are using the same dresses to really see the changes!
  • I too would love an invite....glad I kept reading the comments since I wasn't able to find the group either.
  • I'd love to see what suggestions you get. I have been known to make a protein shake with almond milk, but then I'm getting more carbs than I would prefer.
  • Pregnancy hormones are a power thing...they can absolutely alter your taste preferences.
  • Maybe changing your weigh in day to Friday would help too. Weekend food has a nasty way of showing up on Monday morning and artificially inflate the scale. There are some really great suggestions for you on this thread! Hope something works for you.
  • Not intentionally. I did recently order a dress that was too snug. Rather than sending it back, I decided to keep it for when I can fit into it.
  • I found this link very helpful when I got started. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12
  • I can never drink them as a meal replacement. I'm like you, they hold me off for an hour or so.
  • You're welcome to add me as well! It's easy to become obsessed with calories, especially when its so easy to log them on MFP. I personally choose the TDEE calorie method because I found starving myself ineffective. Good luck!
  • I'm more curious as to what "drinker" means on this site....
  • MORE calories in the smaller restaurants? Wow, I really thought it would have been the opposite. Thanks for all the great suggestions!
  • Do I try to figure out the pieces part of the meal? Bacon, then shrimp, rice....
  • Your body needs fuel immediately following a workout to help in the recovery process. This is especially true if you did strenuous exercise or resistance training. I would definitely recommend having at least a small snack in your bag to eat right away. I personally love a protein bar or protein shake. But an apple with…
  • I would say that 1200 is definitely too low! After some research, I personally have decided to follow the concept of TDEE. Or Total Daily Energy Expenditure. There are a couple of different sites that you can use to find your BMR and TDEE, but I used http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/. Use your current weight for…
  • I would check out the Eat More 2 Lose Weight board...and figure out your TDEE. Those would be excellent starting points in figuring out how many calories you should be eating. Good Luck.
  • I'll be curious if you get any good suggestions. I struggle on what to eat/not to eat before my Saturday am workout session.
  • You will probably get all kinds of opinions on this topic. From the little bit of research that I have done, your body needs at least 1558 calories just to be a body. To maintain your current weight, you would need 2414 calories. (I'm not sure if you adjusted this to reflect any of your exercise.) To loose weight, you…
  • I just sent a request...
