Wow! Great job! Hopefully I'll have some before / after photos in a couple months. Woot!

Just remember that everyone walks into the gym a first time, and feels exactly the same way. It's intimidating for about two visits, then you realize you're seeing the same people and they're harmless. They are more concerned with how THEY appear any way! You'll probably meet a friend or two anyway. Good luck!

Periods of anxiety attacks in my own life. Things that helped immensely: Yoga Meditation Running Exercise in general And, my diet. I cut out coffee and other caffeine sources and noticed an immediate difference. Eating well seemed to help also. In my case, the more vigorous the exercise, the less anxiety attacks I had. The…

Looking good, but don't lose any more in my opinion.

Having done WW online for a while, I have found MFP to be essentially the same thing but for free. There's not a lot of difference between the two. No reason to have both, it's redundant.

I personally think that image is trying to show that BOTH are extremely unhealthy.

Always. But I am trying to gain muscle mass while losing fat. I'll let you know how it goes. I have lost 8 lbs in less than a month am VERY conservative in the amount of calories I credit myself back from exercise though. MFP over estimates a lot of exercise calories... I research and make sure it's correct, and then even…

First of all modernmom, VERY impressive on your weigh loss. Pat yourself on the back. Secondly, this is what your workout would look like if it were heavy lifting: Circuit 1 Squat as heavy as humanly possible for you. 3-5 reps. 10 sets or so. Long rest between sets. Circuit 2 Dead Lift as heavy as humanly possible for you.…

This might help: http://www.fitday.com/webfit/burned/calories_burned_Calisthenics_e_g_push_ups_pull_ups_sit_ups_heavy_vigorous_effort.html Also, generally speaking, moderate exercise equals about 100 calories every 10 minutes.

Yes! Fellow meat heads on mfp! I love it.

Yep, ATG...

Why squat? You will develop a rock hard *kitten*, that's why.

I agree whole heartedly with assisondiseas on the 6 major lifts. They might seem daunting at first, but they are doable. They're full body compound lifts. The only way to go. I think, however, that you could lift using the above approach (which is more of a power lifting style), but follow a body builders diet. Power…

This. Including running barefoot. It has changed everything for me. There are "glove" shoes made for this. I'll never go back to shoes.

A moderately strenuous yoga class burns about 300 calories an hour. That's a rough estimate only. Don't know if this helps, but we generally know that 10 minute of moderate aerobics (can still talk with your neighbor on the treadmill some) burns about 100 calories every 10 minutes or so. I often use my own perceived level…

@futbolk- thanks for your comments.I actually watch both also (my scale shows both so it's hard to miss), but I only really care about the bf% I think. @amart -Those links are AWESOME! The first one is hilarious... Sadly, I am at the almost 30% pictures of the second one, but I got inspired seeing the difference. I'd like…

Thank you. That's 19.5 pounds, which again is about 2lbs per %.
-
Thanks. That puts me at needing to lose about 13% bf to reach 169, at 16% bf. That's 26 pounds, at 2 lbs of fat equaling a single % point. Think that's accurate? I have no idea. Thanks!
-
Oh, I'm 29% right now. My goal is 19%, which using my buddy as the template, is about 40 lbs. That seems like A LOT. I think my math is off.

This is a great post. Thanks.

I can easily eat a whole pound and half package of bacon in one sitting. It's probably my number one favorite food.
