I buy hiking shoes for regular walking and boots for hiking. You can pick them up reasonably from Sports Direct, my favourite brand are Karrimore, they last at least a year, usually much longer and I wear them to work too, so almost every day. There's no need to buy the expensive names.

Having spent 8 months recovering from knee surgery and post opp complications a couple of years ago, I found that I had to concentrate on getting the knee healed first. After I learned to walk again the extra lbs that I gained came off very easily. Hang in there @

This is me! I've lost 3st 12lb so far, my bottom pouch is shrinking nicely, but my top belly (as I call it), so far isn't shrinking much. It's the area I'm most self conscious about, and I wish it would catch up! I'm hoping that another 10lb loss (my goal-a healthy BMI, just) will make it look.a lot better, if not I'll…

The copper IUD left me suffering with the same symptoms for years, because like you, I didn't believe that it could cause issues because it was hormone free. It took a worried GP to send me to the gyn on a 2 week cancer pathway appointment before anyone suggested it could be IUD related. Fortunately it wasn't cancer and…

If you google there are lots of step/equivalent activity charts on the web

I lost 14lbs in 6 weeks doing 5:2, that might be worth a go. 2 days of 500 calories and 5 eating at or just below TDEE
-
Have you considered IF? I see lots of posts on 5:2 pages saying that they had got stuck in a plateau and fasting helped to get things moving again.
-
I never eat breakfast, I just can't face food in the morning, and since I've been doing 5:2 I don't even look for food before lunch time, whether I'm on a fasting day or an eating day.
-
15 miles and I'm ready for bed, can't think how difficult that would be!
-
Sounds like intermittent fasting would be a good place for you to start - specifically 5:2.

I'm in :)

Nothing anywhere near as glamorous as the outfits above! My old work trousers so I don't have to go through the embarrassment of having to ask for a bigger size of uniform. I'm wearing jeans at the moment, but PPE uniform is likely to become mandatory soon.

It will pass once your system gets used to your new way of eating. Until then drink lots and think of hunger as the fat screaming! I did 5:2 successfully last year, then ate like an idiot and put the weight back on, but I felt the best I've felt in years while doing IF.

I'm 5ft 9 and a half and I have a goal of 154 = 11stone. I have a large frame - wide hip bones and shoulders. I've been that weight before, and I know it's the lowest I can go without starting to look gaunt and ill.
-
I'm 4lbs up (far better than the 8lbs last Christmas!), but it's a fast day today, another Wednesday and hopefully that should banish that 4lbs. Although TOM is looming so I might not know for sure for another week - water retention etc.
-
*Stands on tiptoes* I'm ft 9 and a half, can I join in too? I'm currently 179.6 lbs (down from 196) and roughly a UK 16, although I've not bought new jeans yet I'm having to belt my 18's tightly and they are looking baggy. I'm doing 5:2 and loving it. Anything under 154 (11stone) and I start to look scrawny!

I LOVE 5:2, it very quickly become a way of life. It's the only thing I've found that I can stick to easily, and I have so much energy, the complete opposite of any other diet I've tried. Here we are Christmas week, and I'm on a fast day and feeling great. I have another planned for Wednesday too. I look forward to my 2…

I do 5:2 and eat my 500 calorie meal at around 7pm on fast days, with only tea coffe or water up until then. I only eat 1800 calories in non-fast days!
-
Research 5:2 and give it a try - not as scary as it sounds and is working wonders for me :)
-
I'm doing 5:2 - intermitant fasting where I eat normally 5 days and fast (eat less than 500 calories) for two days. This way I'm not feeling deprived of all the niceities that are about this time of year, and 'you can do anything for one day' or 'I can eat it tomorrow' is enough to get me through fast days.
-
I'm planning on sticking to my 2 fasts (I'm doing 5:2) both the week before and week between New years and eating pretty much what I want inbetween. I don't have the same capacity for sweets and chocolates that I had before starting 5:2, and the fact that I don't deny myself most of the week means I don't particularly…
-
Have you considered 5:2 or other forms of Intermitant fasting?
-
Sounds like a good decision! I LOVE my One, I feel lost on days I forget to put it on.
-
Me and I LOVE it! I'm on my 7th week and loosing steadily.
-
I eat 1800 on non fast days. My TDEE is between 2000 and 2500 depending on how busy I am at work - as measured by my fitbit. This seems to be working well for me, although I'm only on week 7.
-
I LOVE 5:2 intermitant fasting, it's the only thing I can stick to easily and isn't half as scary as it sounds.
-
Have you considered trying 5:2 or a similar fasting plan? I've only been doing it 5 weeks but it's really helped me to reset my thinking on what hunger rather than being bored actually is. It's easy to do, just eat 500 cals 2 days a week (they don't have to be consecutive) and eat normally the other 5 days. It feels…

I'm in South Wales :) Good luck!

I thought I'd check back in on this old thread to say that I'm absolutely LOVING 5:2. 4 weeks in, 8 fast days and 7.4lbs lost. Not only that but I have loads of energy and my eczema is far better than it's been in ages. I can't believe that I actually look forward to my fast days rather than dread them.

Thanks all, @saladcrunchy , I'd be interested in what two meals that you used, as a starting point.
