I think every body is different and everyone needs to find what works for them. Personally, I think that if you were eating 1200 cals, then burning 600 then you were only eating 600 per day and that is very low (unless you've had instruction from your Dr/RD etc). I used to get really excited about my birthday - it's at the end of August so I usually have a lovely long bank holiday, which I claimed all of lol!! The last 3 years though I haven't been so excited about them - I'm 30 next year...woah, where has the time gone...not even sure I'll really celebrate that one to be honest!

Could pop the peanut butter on to fruit like apples or bananas! You could try pasta with a simple tomato sauce but blitz some peppers, onions in to the sauce so it's smooth. How're they with helping to prepare the meals? I read somewhere that getting them involved in the food prep could help them want to try and eat it…

The ones with the yoghurty bit in the middle are so good...they're really 'thick' though and take quite a lot of chomping to get through them, do leave you satisfied though!

I use Kara Coconut Milk: http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=2781&prodid=3603&bid=507 Very slightly coconut in flavour, is good in coffee - takes a bit of getting used to in tea and awesome on cereal or in porridge! Tastes pretty good as a drink too!

I'm 5'9 - so nearly! SW - 220 CW - 148 GW - 126 I've got a small frame and being 148 at the moment I still feel quite heavy in myself. I am starting to think about toning more so I might actually end up weighing more than 126 but I'm not really going to know until I get there :-))

If you have no medical need to cut back on carbs then don't. I personally keep mine under 30g because my body sucks. However, cutting back on refined carbs, such as white bread and pasta etc isn't a bad thing in any case.

Thanks for the replies! I'm sure I must spend around £300 per month on 2 adults and 1 child (only with us 3/4 of the time though). Really need to be careful over the next couple of months - might try out planning for the week ahead and doing a weekly shop instead of monthly bill buy
