Why don't you pack your scale first? Keep logging, exercising, etc., but forget about the number on the scale.

Great Attitude! You are both (Sunshine and Shanta) fortunate to have supportive friends and family. Fantastic Job!!!

BPerucco, Can you share the name of the drink? Thanks!

I suggest you google your question and research this issue. I have found that most Dr.'s, nutritionists, and fitness experts by a very large margin agree that you must eat before exercise. What to eat, and the amount to eat, depends on what type of physical activity you are going to do, and the amount of time before…

Welcome everyone! Glad you are here.

Laddyboy - How do you adjust (or do you adjust?) your exercise to your zig-zagging? I tried this plan (stuck for a month now) and it drove me crazy trying to figure out when I should exercise, when I should strength train vs. cardio. It seemed like my high calorie days were my cardio days, but then the net calories still…

Update - thanks to everyone who replied. For those who do not cook (like me) I really like Mama Mary's traditional sauce. When I want thin crust I use Mission Plus Carb Balance tortilla, and when I want thinker crust I go with Boboli Whole Wheat. I never found a store by me that sold the Newman's Own.

You don't want to look back on your vacation and regret anything - either going overboard or missing out. I say eat what you want, just limit portions. And stay active. It's only a few days, you can't do too much damage, and will likely take it right off when you come home.

I'm with you - if you figure out the answer, let us know!

Welcome! If you have not already done so, read the NEWBIE posts under General Diet section. There is good info there.

Allow me to paraphrase a very wise woman! This is YOUR chance. Right now, You have two legs that can walk the world if YOU want. YOU have a mind to calculate calories, points, anything. YOU can swim the Nile, YOU can run to Nebraska One of these days, it might just be that YOU have an accident or an illness and can no…

Welcome! I am also a huge fan of reading and when I started my latest weight loss journey, I went to my local libraries and checked out everything related to nutrition and exercise. I found alot of gimmicks, but the ones that made sense to me say very similar things. 1. Eat every 3 hours 2. Get plenty of fiber and lean…

Wow - forget putting it out of sight. I would toss it! Your co-workers I understand, they have no obligation to support you, and they can live their lives as they wish. But the spouse? You are a much stronger person than I to put up with that!!

Welcome!

Welcome back! Most of us have tried and failed (and tried and failed...) on multiple diet plans. MFP works if you stick with it! If you have not done so already, under the "community" tab, there is a search button at the top of the page. You can type in a food you like (for example, Pizza) and it will likely lead to a…

Welcome Karend73! Glad you have found the site, and your way around it.

Lucky you to not have experienced a plateau, and I hope you never do! The way I understand it, your body adjusts to your new routine. So even though you are doing everything right, your body wants a "time-out" from the weight loss, and holds onto the weight instead of shedding it as it had been. Sometimes you just need…

Look at your own profile and remind yourself why you are doing this. Then look how far you have come in such a relatively short period of time. You absolutely can meet your goals!!

There are lots of quick easy things you could eat without resorting to expensive programs. You could start a thread just on that subject. Here are my favorites: Breakfast - Fiber One Honey Clusters Cereal. Lunch/Dinner - Wraps. Any tortilla (I like Mission Carb Balance), Purdue Short Cuts chicken, low fat cheese. Eat…

Can I vent too?? I hate the end of the day "If every day were like today... you'd weigh xxx in 5 weeks"!!! That would obviously only be true if there were no such things as plateaus!

I save my favorite tv shows, and only allow myself to watch them while exercising.

Reading the posts on this site, you will see most people tweak the percentages until they find what works for them. I use 30g of Fiber as my goal, and I usually am right around 30, if not a little over.

Welcome!

Do not starve yourself the rest of the day - otherwise tomorrow will be just like today. Eat real food, full of fiber and protein, every 3 hours or so, and that should help with the hunger from now on.

Way to stick with it! You are hope for all of us who are "stuck". Great Job!

I am in the same boat, and am so frustrated I have stayed off the scale.
