Short term: Continue to make exercise a goal and don't allow myself to feel guilty for making that time. Make good choices that set a positive example for my children Long term: Feel strong Feel healthy Be at a weight where I'm not putting stress on my body (probably around 170, but we'll see!)

Yes! Have you found a solution?

That's awesome! I also came from a home with a dad who was a carpenter so his workouts were built in to her day and a mom who dieted when needed and made workouts sound like a chore. I love that my kids get excited to "exercise" and see it as just part of a lifestyle rather than what you do to reach a goal.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words! I can't believe how good it feels to be strong. I am truly at peace with whatever weight my body is at, but this feeling of being strong and more able is not something I ever want to lose!
-
Awesome! You are doing great! Keep it up!
-
Thanks for all the tips!

That's a great tip to ask for samples! I will do that! Thanks!

I know absolutely nothing about protein powders. Is there a good resource to look at different options? I don't even know where to start.

I'm currently set to 2 pounds loss a week, but in reality I'm perfectly fine with a pound or 1/2 pound a week. I drink a glass of wine maybe 1-2 times a week and we eat very little processed foods. I even haven't had much refined sugar in the past few weeks as I gave up sweets for Lent. When your weight was holding were…

I'm confident that's not it. I recently got a fit bit hr but only will eat back a very few of my exercise calories (less that 10%) and never calories my fit bit adds for daily activity. I have been extremely careful about weighing and logging everything the past few weeks. Before that I wasn't as consistent, which is why…

I have. I tend to adjust it more frequently that every 10 pounds so the changes don't feel so drastic.

Thanks! I have done her step workouts in the past and enjoyed it. I'll check her out again. Do you have a favorite?
-
Do you have any favorites? I loved the cardio kickboxing suggested above!

Unfortunately my problem isn't related to joints (I promise you don't want more details) so that's not an option for me. Thanks so much for the suggestion though!

I just did most of it (my daughter woke up in the middle of her nap. Figures. But I really loved it. Absolutely perfect! I'll be checking in to more of those. Thank you thank you!!!

Thank you!

Where can I find that? Is it online?
-
I'll check it out! Thanks!

Not a yoga fan. I get my muscle toning in at the gym, I'm needing some heart pumping stuff. Thank you though!

Kicking is not an issue! I can do some modified squats so some is okay. They just don't work me much so I don't want a video that relies on them like many do. I'll check that out! Thanks!

I just tried 30 day shred today actually. When you remove the squats and jumping it's not much of a workout. :(

I don't at home, darn it. We may get one in the future but for the time being there just isn't space.

I'm so with you. I am feeling so good about my chest and arms but my butt and thighs just aren't losing. I am totally fine with embracing the fact that they will always be my largest areas, but I look so out of proportion now! I've lost hardly any in that area even though I've lost 45 pounds!

I just bought new jeans from the misses section, NOT the plus size section for the first time in 7 years. I am on cloud 9!

Ha! Yes!

I was getting ready for church this morning. In the shower I was thinking how I wished I had some khakis because it is cold out so I didn't want to wear a skirt. I remembered that I had khaki pants that have been too tight for awhile, as in unable to snap. I geared myself up for disappointment while trying them on. Turns…

I guess it is more specifically my abs that are incredibly weak.

I can do squats and deadlifts, though I honestly didn't know those worked core, so good to know. I can only do planks on forearms and knees for about 10 seconds at a time. Can't do mountain ckimbers, push ups even on knees are a challenge.
-
I bought some Danskin ones from Walmart just to be cheap and I actually love them. Hands down my favorite for "running" (I feel more honest when I use quotation marks).

See if your gym offers some kind of training session or something. Form is super important for lifting so you want to make sure you are doing it right. This will also give you more confidence in using the equipment.
