How do I delete a post?

I'm doing LCHF and intermittent fasting, currently along the lines of 18:6 some times as long as 24 and some times as little as 12. I go with the flow as to how I feel and what's going on!

I'm full of it..... lol... When I started Keto, I experienced a high that lasted about 2 days. Felt good ever since, except when I've strayed off the path. Sleeping better, thinking better, very rarely hungry, don't feel tired after eating, enjoying eating tasty food that fills me up. If I had found this way of eating…

A "taste the difference" type coleslaw is a recent and tasty part of my breakfasts.

Take note that a litre of water weighs 1 kg (2.2 lbs). 1 pint of water weighs +/- 1 lbs. Water plays such a big role in weight fluctuation. During hard excercise people can lose 3/4/5+ lbs in weight. Any excess carb not used in the short term will be stored with 4 x its weight in water (1 gram of carb + 4 gram h2o). Salt…

Generally speaking: Either get some Ketosticks and test your pee. or Change you eating habits and cut the carb intake down to less than 50g per day (lower if possible / practicle). Please read up on the subject, before you start, there is a lot of misinformation on the subject and more to it than just cutting carbs. An…

I weigh daily. Continue to do what works for you. There is no wrong or right.

To loose weight you will need to achieve a overall calorie deficit. Calories come from : Alcohol Carbs Protein Fats Let's say you took in "no carbs what-so-ever" (highly unlikely) and got all your calories from fat and some protein and exceeded your body's total calorie requirement, the excess would get stored initially as…

I have checked the article you mention, it is written as part of a Diabetic site and written in the context of people who cannot produce enough insuin to control their blood sugar levels. As a diabetic has a problem with insulin production, then, if left uncorrected, blood ketones levels (as well as glucose) can increase…

Fantastic transformation. I bet you feel a million 1'000'000 AU $'s better!

Bump! Any one here?

Not true if you body is in a state of burning your fat reserves you will produce ketones. That they don't appear in your pee is a matter of accuracy of the indicator on the test sticks. You can be in ketosis and not register on the pee sticks. They are a rough guide.

As long as you are not a diabetic, you cannot have excess ketones in your system. Your body self regulates the quanity of ketones with insulin. It actually reaches an equilibrium in a few weeks producing only what it needs to feed the brain and CNS. You can test for ketones in your pee because your body cannot burn them up…

AKA Cheesy fry-its, yummy. Done 'em for years - initally to lose much of the fat content - but now just for the pleasure. Great recommendation... +1

:noway: Sorry but I have to advise you that Ketosis is a natural body function. It's how the body fuels the Brain and CNS when there are no carbs available to use. We are designed to run this way when needed. When carbs are not available, we use fat to run most of the body's functions and ketones to run the dependent…

Good luck, take it a step at a time.

It takes a little time to get a good balance. I found that I had to use full fat cream, nut butters, oil and butter to keep the fats well ahead of the protein. I'm reasonably consistant now at 75% Fat, 20% protein, 5% carbs, but I have to watch carefully! I have seen that when I have a real low carb day (2-3%) it pays big…

Use calorie dense food - high fat. Do you eat toast? smother it in butter and or peanut butter (obviously not PB if your allergic...). Do you eat salad? dress it (alot) with olive / flax seed / rapeseed or mayonaise. Munch on some nuts and seeds.

I've edited my above post to try and be a little more helpful.

Yes, if your BMR is 1500. In basic terms your body is an engine burning calories as fuel. You have a fuel tank containing fat and carbs. You add to that fuel tank every day with the food you eat. Your body uses fat/carbs/protein as fuel in various proportions depending on availability every day. If you use more energy than…

If you are coming from a very low calorie diet and you increase your calories with "carbs" you will gain some water weight but this will be limited and also fluctuate from day to day. If may well be worth speaking to your doctor about the concerns you may have in regard to you diet. Without knowing you, my tuppence worth…

People who put on aftershave, cologne or perfume before going into the gym for a workout. In particular when they get on a machine next to me when I'm breathing in hard. The vapours taste awful.

Celery sticks with peanut butter or almond butter wedged in! Brazil nuts. Sliced cheese and sliced ham, turkey or chicken (or all of them!) rolled up - edam or gouda style works well as they don't break when rolled. Oh, yes I forgot, corned beef with cheese slice - now I'm salivating.....

I can't answer your question directly however, you can get Flax Seed Oil in soft gel capsules. I use a brand "Finest Natural" they contain 1000mg of the oil, they are easy to swallow and don't have any real taste - just don't bite! These are on the database. I do also dress my food with oil and can drink a spoonful if…

As per previous post - create a new excercise. Once done, you can re-use this excersise and change the time which will / should auto change the calories burnt. If you disagree with the MFP proposed calories just edit them to your chosen value. Good luck.

You are quite correct but there are knock on effects from not consuming enough protein or EFA's to supply the body's needs.

Hi. There are many different methods to dieting and I'm sure you'll get lots of input. In really basic terms, and in principle, as long as you consume less calories than you burn off, you can be a fruitarian, vegitarian, omnivore, carnivore or what you fancy. Just don't starve yourself and ensure you excercise regularly! I…
