  • Thanks. Found it. Noticed the triple post and not sure how I did that either. Evidently I need some work on my technology usage.
  • I am joining in this discussion to see the answers because I have changed my activity level about 6 times in the past two weeks because I really can't decide how many calories I should be eating! I think in your case, it looks like it depends on whether or not you are adding the activity you are doing as exercise. If you…
  • In the cardio section of exercise you can type in "strength training," and an option will come up where you can type in how many minutes you spent doing strength exercises and it will give you a number of calories burned. It will be a very low number for the amount of pain and suffering you went though! :)

  • You definitely need to go on vacation! Your family is more important than food. :) Staying in a condo puts you at a definite advantage since it sounds like you will be cooking most of your meals. Like others said, pack healthy food and plan treats into your day. :) And try to do some activities that burn calories. Swim,…
  • I know how you feel! If you look at my profile photo, underneath you will see I joined this site in 2009! I come back on and off, always able to lose/keep off the 10 pounds or so that creep back on but NEVER able to lose that last five pounds. I know for me, it's because the ONE TIME when I was able to get only 4 pounds…
  • Memorial Day weekend started a season for me that is going to involve some kind of party, cookout, or otherwise food-involved festivity just about every weekend from now until the summer is almost over, so I understand how you fell off the wagon and how you feel! I also was up a little over a pound from my previous loss. I…
  • I use the gardening topic in the mfp database and just only eat back half of the calories. I think the MFP database probably estimates calories pretty high, but it really is impossible to tell for sure without a heart rate monitor. But I beg to differ about gardening being a low intensity activity, depending on what you…
  • I knew that and we kept her on gluten until all of the testing was done.
  • It's really hard to say. We already were eating pretty healthy to begin with, and, as I said, we had already tried, one by one, to eliminate other things before we took out gluten. Because she was so sick for so long, and is really afraid to be that sick again, she's very cautious about what she eats and we are pretty…
  • I have found all of these articles that are suddenly coming out very interesting...because about 2 years ago, my (then) 14-year-old daughter started becoming very sick a lot of time time - bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss, etc. Over the course of those 2 years, we had her tested for everything under the sun -…
  • As other people have mentioned, the coupons many times are for processed food. However, there is one great way you can save money on fresh produce, and that is by price matching. Some stores (like WalMart, for example) will honor the sale prices in competitor's ads. I get the Sunday paper ads for all of our local grocery…
  • I have been on mfp on and off for several years, and really only have about 10-15 pounds to lose. I know for me, once I get to the "only 5-10 pounds left" mark, it won't come off unless I am exercising and staying within the "macros," which for me means eating very "clean." It's hard. Which is why I am still here and…
  • Thanks for the suggestions & encouragement!
  • Do your posting with no stirrups...that's killer! :)
  • The baking method makes brown rice come out with a really nice texture every time. If you bake it plain, then you can just add whatever you want every time you eat it.
  • bump
  • I think Ruby Tuesday's has better low-cal options. I was disappointed with the Chili's menu when I went there recently. I hadn't been in a long time and there seemed to be a lot of changes. Plus you can sign up on Ruby Tuesday's website for coupons and sometimes get buy one get one free entree coupons. :)
  • I was drinking tons of diet coke for years but this past year have had major problems with pain in my hip joints (and I am only 38, not overweight, and in decent shape). I heard that aspertame can cause joint problems, so I quit drinking the diet coke cold turkey last week. Two days of terrible headaches later...my hip…
  • what is insanity? Is that a Wii game also?
  • My heart was not in this today, but I guess at least I did it. workout 7 - hard time 31.22 av hr 107 max hr 180 calories 141.9 When do they introduce the fitness test?
  • I have 8 pounds left also and it has been slow going! Trying not to give up, which is what I have always done in the past and then I gain the weight I have lost right back....sigh
  • Workout 6 -hard time 35.31 av hr 111 max hr 176 calories 173.8 I have decided that all exercises with the word, "mountain" in them are killer. :)
  • I started with the 3 week set on medium and didn't think it was challenging enough also - and then I changed the 3-week to hard and it still wasn't enough, so I jumped into the 9 week set at hard. The 9 week at hard is harder than the three week. Some workouts are harder than others, but I have only done 6 workouts so far…
  • Congratulations! Do you think you will do the program over again or will you move on to something different?
  • I ended up dragging myself into doing the workout - only 80% completed, partially because I had to skip two things that wouldn't pick me up, and also because I skipped the cool down. The trainer actually called me names on this workout! haha! Workout 5 - hard time 27.40 av hr 116 max hr 180 calories 144.3
  • Very good idea about using weights. I feel like I spend all my time fumbling with the band also. I might have to look into prices for those. I did not work out yesterday because I did so much other work (horse chores at both ends of the day for a friend and snow shoveling), and was going to make up for yesterday's missed…
  • Tonight I had an egg on an english muffin with a slice of american cheese, two slices of oscar meyer thin-sliced turkey, and a little bit of margarine. It was a quick, easy, filling dinner after an exhausting day and was 400 calories.
  • Oh, my goodness - please tell me it isn't true that Mountain climbers go up to 75! 55 just about kills me! lol
  • Don't give up! You can do it! I really appreciate you starting this challenge because it has helped to motivate me to be faithful at exercising. Also - I really like the custom and/or trainer generated workout options that you can choose from. The custom is nice because you can pick what you want to do and not have to be…
