This has always worked for me in the past. Eat normally for the first of three days, get plenty of water, and eat NO BEEF. On the second day, if you are on a day schedule, have 16 Oz. of a lean cut of beef with all visible fat removed pan broiled with no added fats or oils before 11:30 am. Drink 1/2 your body weight (Lbs…

I was trying to figure out just where to post, but Woot.com had a nice inexpensive HRM with a chest strap Saturday for $35 (29.95 +5$ s&h). I know i'm a little late :( If your not in a hurry they have them from time to time. I got my Sportline HRM from Wal-Mart last year for cheap. I like it but would like to have more…

This sounds so good, and this post made me feel good. I know what bump is but I read the mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm bump reply as mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm BURP. I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. Yup, I'm a guy.

Like some of the other post stated, you can go at your own pace. I suggest going really, really, REALLY slow to start out. I tried a few months ago. I had been bicycling about 12 miles 3 times a week and I still thought I needed the couch POTATO to 5K program. I went too fast and suffered from delayed onset muscle soreness…

Does your SuperCenter have a produce department. Wow, you can eat the freshest produce everyday. It's also cheaper than McDonald's. Save money Live better

Woo Who! Me too! I fell off about a month ago. I hit a stone wall (Kidney stones) just as things were getting good. I was running about a mile and a half and bicycling 12 three times a week. I was feeling great. Now I have personally procaimed this day the fifth day of October two thousand nine as breaking my bad habits…

It is such a treat to come to this thread after running and see how everyone is doing. Welcome to all you newcomers, I'm glad you're here. Huge thanks to all of you who keep coming back offering words of encouragment. :flowerforyou: W1D6 done. I had another run-in with gravity today. I had just started my second run…

W1D5 done, I ran 6 segments. I should be at 8 Sunday. I think a third week one will do the trick. I'm feeling great. My lower half is lookin good. Now I have to work on my upper. It is affecting my run. I try to "run on eggshells" like a Coolrunning.com artical suggestion, but my footfalls are like - piff....FLOP! - The…

I just looked it up on Amazon and watched a YouTube video about Mio HRMs. It looks like it works the same as the Sportline S12 I am wearing that I purchased from Wal-Mart for $35, except mine has an accelerometer / pedometer built in too. I really like mine, but I would be curious to know how it compares to the Polar brand…

Week 1 repeat day 1 done. I ran 4 segments today and walked the rest. I've found out my best cool down is to ride my bicycle. I'd been giving that up for the running but I've found I can do both. I hope to be running all segments by week's end. Thanks for all of the motivation in here. Everyone have a wonderful day!
-
W1D3 done! next week will be a repeat. I've been walking all the segments of Ullrey's podcast, but running the last segments and adding one each day. That should be more like the Couch Potato to 5K program I needed  Everyone, have a wonderful day and a great next week!

Consider the foods you eat in the evening. Are they natural diuretics? If so, then that might explain the early morning kidney call.

This advice is golden!! I ride a Trek road bike and just now finished a 12 mile ride. I used to be a Schwinn guy and dead set against Huffy. You could see the difference in the welds on the frame. These days everything is manufactured to high quality standards...Even the cheaper store brands... My job is Quality Assurance…

Well here it is Friday, I did W1D1 Monday and when the pain caught up to me I was unable to get to W1D2 until today. I was in so much pain it took about 2 minutes each time to even sit down on the toilet. I did remember to stretch this time. This was definitly harder than I thought. I've been riding my bicycle pretty…

What kind of bicycle do you ride? Just changing the tires could make a huge difference. I bought a cheap HRM at Wal-Mart, but I haven't used it to clock my calories burned while riding yet. I'll experiment this weekend and let you know what I find out. I ride a Trek road bike and usually ride 12 miles three times a week. I…

kurneckc, I could almost just quote all your posts. I seem to be a few hours behind you  I'm definitely feeling it in the upper thighs. Ouch! I hope it subsides before tomorrow morning. I'm making a checklist of things I have to do to prepare. 1. a little caffeine 2. stretch before AND after. 3. set iPod, HRM, and…

Any words of advice on how to enter the C25k workouts in the exercise diary? I forgot to set up my HRM and pedometer :ohwell:

Week 1, Day 1, First timer.... DONE!!! Ran to Robert Ullrey's Podcast. Excellent!! C25k...not exactly couch...Felt like Olympic runner to 5k. I'm 5'9" 260 lbs this morning and have been riding my bike 12 miles at least twice a week. I'm plum tuckered. That which does not kill you, makes you stronger...Ask my wife, she says…

OooRah! I am ready. I've been measuring the distances in my neighborhood on GoogleEarth, and I'm building my playlists for my iPod. Count me in too!

I'm wearing one I bought at Wal-Mart for $35, but I don't like the HRM functions. The pedometer is pretty good though. It's call a sportline S12 12 function ECG heart rate watch. The box says" World's only one-touch heart rate + pedometer.

Yep! I was dreaming I went to HE double hockey sticks, was devouered by the devil himself, excreted, and eaten by other nasty beasts. I felt it all. Then I started drinking some acai and agave nectar stuff for a few days and added DHEA to the supplements I was taking . It changed my dreams for the better. Now I drink that…

I like to drink Bossa Nova acai berry and agave juice. I've noticed a little benifit. It's like a natural energy drink, it tastes really good, and it gives me weird dreams if I drink it too close to bedtime (which I do) The only things I don't like is the price, It's $3.29 for 9+ oz. at the grocery and the…

Wow, that's exactly what I took to a family reunion last weekend 7 layer and a fruit thing. The fruit thing I took was different though. In a 9"X12" Gladware pan I put a layer of angel food cake sliced about 3/8" thick. I piped in some Philadelphia cheesecake filling. (Warning: don't use the entire container and don't…

I've been told by a nurse that the easiest way to get blood out of fabric is to use hydrogen peroxide. Since it's in a matress you might put some on and use some sort of wet vac on it???
