  • I am 5'10" and currently 183. I spent most of my young adult life at 145lbs. once I started being stupid and "dieting" I went down to 130 and looked like a skeleton. But that started my yo yo of up and down. I have gotten up to 194 and have worked my way down over and over again but can not seem to get down past 170. I…
  • Keep up the good work. NO EXCUSES! you can and will do this!
  • Fantastic comment xMrBunglex! That is so true. I lost weight and kept it off for two years. I lost motivation too Chantel. I gained it all back and I am here again. IT is a normal part of this journey to feel like it is never going to end. I know so many times I wished "Can't I just do this once and stop working so hard…
  • Try a book called "Deliciously Deceptive". It has all sorts of veggies "snuck" in meals. Its great! She did this so her kids would eat veggies
  • Im back too. I gained back all the weight it took me two years to lose. I wish the picture on my profile was what I looked like now. But 20lbs back up. I am ready to start again.
  • my weight goes up and down from week to week. I have put on as much as 7lbs!! and then dropped it plus more. Our bodies are strange like that. But nothing like GOING UP on the scale to make you go crazy! Keep it up!
  • its the last to go. Believe me. Keep going. tummy is 80 percent diet 20 percent working out.
  • I think you need to see a picture of the second woman when she is not oiled up and flexing. She is quite lovely and not crazy muscle looking. But to build muscle you must lift heavy weight and eat lean meat. Cut the sugar and carbs. 45 min of cardio 3 times a week lifting 3 times a week. Get a log to track your progress in…
  • water, water, water, flavored water, raw carrot chips, egg whites with veggies! hardly any calories at all!!
  • you could easily burn 500 calories doing weight training! (if you have the time) http://healthwellnesspost.com/how-many-calories-does-weight-lifting-burn.htm Plus the weight training will help you burn calories during the day when you are not "at it". If you have 3 sets of weights 5-10-15lbs you can use the training…
  • We have both. I would give you the following reviews: Wii is nice to weigh in and it has some decent fitness things. It just seems so much more cumbersome than the xbox. At least it keeps you moving! XBOX: this is so much more interactive than Wii and you have to just show up in front of the tv. your body is the…
  • WAY UP NE Iowa here. Riceville, IA. Very active and ready to stay healthy!
  • This is bad and good. I like to see people finally deciding to get fit. But the people I call the "2-4 weekers" that come in every morning and take up the treadmills and weights, talk and waste time while I am trying to squeeze in my work out. They give up in a few weeks. The beginning of the year (new years resolutions)…
  • damn strait!
  • Food is food and time is time. With the hours I work and time I have to work out I eat when I can at night. I ALWAYS eat breakfast, a snack and lunch. But I get off work at 5 it takes me an hour to get to the gym and I stay there 2 hours some nights and I don't get home til late and then I eat. I leave a protein bar in my…
  • 1000 calories is way too much. Check your settings. Timex is not a dependable HRM. I know it is cheaper but not worth it. Spend the 100 bucks and get a Polar. You will be much happier!
  • oh and check your water in take and keep your sodium low! Make sure you are eating ENOUGH as well. You will find that just having a deficit does not make you lose weight either.
  • Your one main cause of weight gain may actually be GRAINS! check out Paleo Diet. (it is not actually a diet but a way of eating normally if the word diet makes you nuts-it does me) I had lost some weight and then it just stagnated, since I cut out grains and diary it has been coming off! it is great because i can now fit…
  • Just started Paleo today. It is basically very clean eating. No grains, sugar or processed foods. I was doing very little meat and seemed to be hungry and trying to fill in my calories during the day with grains and snacks. With this i am not hungry during the day most of the time. Check it out online.
  • yes my dear, it is called the runners ****s. I eat a yogurt or drink coffee RIGHT AWAY before a run and make sure I go before I run. It is the only way. Either that or you are going to have to run circles around your house until your body gets used to going before! It is a real thing and most go though it! Good luck!
  • used to do it, do better without it. Once I stopped adding all the "stuff" to my day I started losing! Strange I know..but doing it all natural worked for me. I was on it for years!

  • at first I dropped weight fast too. But there probably will be a time that you platau, dont worry! It seems like you're doing fine. Dont worry about things too much, especially since they have not happened yet. Congratulations on you loss!
  • I used to be awful, but as I get further into this it has become easier. Self control is what it all comes down too. I know that sometimes I wake up at 3am with a feeling of really "wanting a cookie" but dont do it, I go pee and get a drink of water and go back to bed. no worries, it will get better.
  • yesterday had REAL symptoms of sugar addiction withdraw. People at work were eating a sweat pasta dish and I was just about losing my mind and started sweating on my forehead and lower back! crazy. Today has started off better. Have been able to stay under 30g for almost 3 days now. I lost 30lbs right away (20 since being…
  • I USED to not worry about sugar from natural sources. But I lost 30lbs successfully, the last 20 here on MFP. I had stayed at that weight for over 2 months, worked out harder and still no loss. I started reading up about insulin resistance and decided to start keeping my sugar below 30g a day or close to it. In the first…
  • CHEESE!!!!!! BREAD!!!!!! CAKE!!!!! But I am trying hard to eat very very little of those things. Hard!!!
  • It is worth the money to get a Polar 4 or Polar 7.
  • also, I wear my regular (no underwire) bra AND a tight sports bra to keep the girls under wraps, nothing is more painful!!!
  • I am glad to see others said Target. I LOVE the Champion line also. I found some great shorts that have a built in "stretchy" Lycra under short! so they hold everything in and look super cute. SO NICE! the Champion shirts are nice and bright and they keep the sweat off you too. They have lasted me forever also!
