If you love running, I wouldn't give it up, but you could CHANGE it up some. Instead of doing 5 10-min miles everyday, you could try a faster tempo run of 3 miles at 9 min pace or go out longer for 7 miles at 11-12 min pace. Also you could add in intervals of sprinting and jogging for 2 miles or so some days or do some…

I didn't read all of the responses, but in the paperwork provided by my pediatrician (for my 18 month old) says "if your child throws their food, take away their plate...hungry children do not throw food, they eat it". I thought this was pretty harsh...however, if the doctor is using this method to get the kid not to throw…

I have used something similar (though not the same company) in Georgia. I was happy with it first, but found that for my family at least, we did not use all of the produce every week so it did not end up saving us any money. Sometimes it was because we got something we didn't like or didn't have time to make it or not…

I run about 9-12 miles per week. I am trying to increase my mileage slowly so I don't get injured. I would like to be at 15-20 miles per week eventually. I try to run 2-4x during the week (2 or 3 miles each time) and then a longer run on the weekend (5-8 miles). The longer run will be getting longer as I get closer to my…

question about this app for all of you that have it...I have yet to go on the computer, I just track my runs with my phone. Why does it sometimes add my run (the same run) 2 or 3 times. It looks like I ran over 12 miles today because it added my 3 mile run FOUR times and I can't figure out how to delete the duplicates from…

The only one I have other than 30DS is the Fast Fix Kickboxing. I really like it. It's definitely fast and it takes a few times through to get the moves down, but it is fun if you like kickboxing! :)

"""Remember: "Puke after the finish line and you've gone out too easy, puke before the finish line and you've gone out too hard, puke ON the finish line and you have paced it perfectly.""""" ^^^^^lol...that is too funny! I will be doing a 5k next Saturday and I have never been consistently training prior to a 5K before. I…

I read the previous thread and figured this was a response to that. A little "tongue in cheek" but good information none the less. ;) I do think newcomers who think 1200 is the norm because that is what MFP spits out to almost everyone if you plug in a 2lb loss/week deserve to know that there is an alternative that might…

I agree with others...when it happens, I just go over for the day. I call those days "Saturday" and "Sunday" Seriously though...just realize what happened and move on. It might happen again, but you just have to take it one day at a time and you can get back on track tomorrow

So what is a good base? How many miles per week or per run would be a good base to have before starting interval training?

I don't have any problems with pants because most of my height is from my torso (I'm 5'10", but can where regular length pants). However, I totally feel your pain in regards to the shirts. I have the most trouble finding shirts that are long enough in the torso and in the sleeve length. It is very frustrating! I've…

I didn't gain any weight freshman year and I think I lost about 10 lbs sophomore year. Freshman year I lived on campus and even though I had a car, I walked to most of my classes....that probably balanced out the dining hall. Sophomore year I moved off campus but I was broke and no longer had the "free" food at the dining…

Hmm...i was a teenager 20 years ago and I think I actually stopped riding my bike when I was about 12. This is probably just isolated to me because I moved to a different town where the streets were much busier. I still played outside a lot, it just changed to basketball, softball, swimming instead of bike riding. And I…

Unfortunately, I still have those. And manual locks on my car also...ugh, to be part of the twenty-first century would be nice ;)

I agree with the chicken idea. I just started doing that this week myself. Much better than frozen dinners. Also I bought frozen veggies (i like the spring mix with zuchinni, squash, brocolli, and carrots). I toss some of that (still frozen) in a tupperware and shake on some garlic powder), then at lunch time I nuke in the…
