I lost 6 stone by reducing carb/fat and walking. As soon as I stopped and went back to my old eating habits and doing no exercise I piled most of it back on again. I restarted the diet and walking at the beginning of September and walk for 30-60 mins per day. I use mapmywalk to track my workouts to give me distance and…

Thanks for this post. I have been struggling with the diet ever since my holiday and the change in weather. My body craves carbs in all shapes and forms, and stupidly I gave in to temptation. As a result I've gained weight slightly quicker than I lost it. The weight goes back on in the worst place - straight to the belly,…

Onions are allowed throughout the diet. Also herbs are allowed so you can chop them up and eat with your meal as a herb salad.

I've never had any success at cooking the galette - must have written off 3 frying pans trying - so I make porridge by using 2 tbsp oat bran and 100ml skimmed milk. Then it's sweetener and cinammon to taste. 90 secs in microwave. Muffins are another favourite with lemon and ginger being my latest flavour.

My hips are now smaller than my waist but my bust has pretty much stayed the same so I'm now rectangular at the top instead of the hour glass I was before putting on all my weight. I only do walking so I guess that is why my hips have disappeared. If u find a solution keep me posted. Well done on almost reaching your…

SW 248 CW 194 GW 143 I started 17th January 2012. Have been fairly strict with myself. Losing the weight but am now needing to do something to tone up my tum. It's anticipated that I will finish consolidation on 25th December 2013. Any advice on how to tone the mid section avoiding sit ups and crunches if possible, would…

I've been thinking the same thing - as I struggle with my PP days through lack of inspiration. I prefer the variety of the PV day. I think the only way to tell whether it would work would be to trial it. I imagine that the weight loss would be slower. In the meantime, I have been adapting the chocolate muffin recipe from…

I quit smoking 3 years ago. I didn't particularly want to quit - but I was about to buy a house and needed the money - I know it should have been for health reasons or the kids - but it wasn't. I liked smoking and could always find an excuse. to justify having one. I wasn't sure I would be able to afford the house, if I…

Love this thread - especially the one showing what x weight of fat looks like.

For a quick snack on the go, I nip in the supermarket and buy the chicken breast slices that have been cooked in tikka - very tasty. Failing that extra light cream cheese spread on smoked salmon or slices of ham also makes a quick snack. If at home, I tend to make omelette with ham shredded into it (or sometimes smoked…

I try a glass of water first as since starting my diet, I have come to realise that a lot of the time I think I'm hungry, it turns out I was thirsty. I wait a while and if I'm still hungry then I'll eat some ham or make a light omelette.

I'm on the 2nd Phase and it was a PV day today. I had oatbran porridge for breakfast. Salad and a boiled egg, followed by a lemon dessert (based on a cheesecake topping mix that I used to make - extra light philadelphia, lemon juice and a little sweetener to taste). For dinner I made some burgers and had that with salad…

On a low carb diet, the metallic taste in your mouth is from ketosis (according to the books). The advice given in the books is to drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day which will reduce the taste and to eat gum so your breath doesn't smell.
