Would you trust the calorie counts from the watches or do you mean don't trust them on anything?
-
I leave mine on. It adjusts your calorie burn according to how much effort you're exerting, so I just leave it and don't log the exercise. Edit: Missed the first comment. Exactly what rkmomm said.

Just discovered Fitness Blender from other posts. You can narrow down to exactly what you want; I even found a few that specify 'no jumping,' which is good when you're on the second floor of a very old house!

It's kind of sad how this thread went from basically, 'Any like-minded people here?' to 'You're not special, I'm not affected by your situation so obviously everyone's equal in 'Murica.' I haven't been active in the group in a while, but in the LGBT group you generally get fewer people triggered by the insinuation that…

I decided to spend the extra money and got an Aria. It sends each weigh in to a Fitbit account, and can also connect to other trend tracking websites. For me, the convenience was worth the money, but you could do the same thing with a $15 scale and a minute on the computer.

It's finals week. That should be all I need to say.
-
You're not gaining and losing 5lbs of fat a week. If you weigh every day you have to be prepared for fluctuations based on a ton of factors, like sodium, water retention, etc. Use a weight trends website you can look at for the overall trend, or just weigh less frequently.
-
7lbs a week is not a loss rate that's going to be sustainable. As you get lighter it will take fewer calories to lose. 30lbs is a big difference. You're going to lose more slowly now than in the beginning if you're eating and moving the same amount. Which is good. Everyone here will tell you to keep your goal at 2lbs a…

Were you given medication to treat it? I'm hypothyroid, but since I've been on medication for it long enough that it's stable and the correct dosage, it doesn't effect my weight loss. It might take a while to get to the correct dosage, and it can take a few weeks to start feeling the effects of the medicine, so definitely…

It's just calorie counting and working out, but somehow made to be more complicated, haha. Also, they're setting you up for failure by telling you certain things don't need to be counted. Why not just log you calories and exercise on here? It's the same thing, but you can set your own goals that work better for you, and…

If you're counting steps in general, all steps count whether you intentionally went for a walk or you got them at the grocery store/work/walking to the kitchen/etc. If you're not constantly wearing a pedometer, though, I wouldn't log steps from work as exercise, I'd just raise my activity level.
-
That sounds like a good way to use it, thanks!
-
That's what I did. These are both from the full report of your first link: Under "Product Purity": "This product failed its heavy metal screening for lead. This means that lead levels in one serving of this product exceeded Labdoor's standards, which are derived from proposed and established California Proposition 65…

I definitely have to think sometimes, "Am I actually hungry, or do I just think I should be hungry because I haven't met my goal yet and my goal's already low?" I try to drink some water and maybe have a tiny piece of candy and distract myself, and then reevaluate later if I'm still feeling hungry. Doesn't always work, but…
-
That's good then, thanks! I don't think they're fear mongering, but they do drop the rating significantly and cite things like aspartame. I'm just saying that that doesn't mean much for everybody is all. Like for me personally, that wouldn't drop the rating. There are probably more people that want that in the rating than…
-
And I'm not trying to shill SlimFast or anything, I don't care whether people drink it or not, I just think some things are vilified on websites like this when they don't need to be.
-
It would be helpful if they actually let users know the numbers they found (unless I missed it somewhere). Somehow I doubt I'm going to get lead poisoning from it though. A lot of the bad rating comes from things like additives, too. What if I don't care about drinking aspartame, etc.? It all depends on why someone is…

Very bottom of the page is a reply box. If you're not seeing it you might need to adjust/try a different browser.

I find my Fitbit (no matter the model) is usually more accurate than MFP. I don't do exercises other than step-based, though.
-
You don't have to, but it's part of the formula for MFP to eat them back, and I personally don't see the point of depriving myself if I'm hungry. If you're eating them back and find you're not losing as much weight as predicted, just eat half the exercise calories. Adjust again if necessary, etc.

I had 2 SlimFast drinks for breakfast today. 2g of sugar total for the two bottles, 40g protein, 360 calories. Maybe they used to be full of sugar, but they're not anymore. They're good protein drinks for me, so I use them. If they work for you, I don't see why you can't try them out.
-
My various Fitbits, which I've had for a couple of years altogether, have always been very accurate. I'll get worried every once in a while at a high burn, but if I actually sit down and work it out it's always right where it should be. As long as your stats are entered correctly in Fitbit then yeah, you can just subtract…

When I first started, I didn't exercise at all, just ate at a deficit. That works, so even if you absolutely cannot find time to move, you can still lose weight. You don't have to exercise, you just have to eat less than you burn. That said, when I started walking every day I was a lot happier because I could then eat a…
-
I sit at work, so I take a walk every day to hit my goal. Yes, 10k is arbitrary, but it's a good goal for me since it means I get to eat a decent amount without working super hard for it. If I don't take a morning walk, I use my breaks and then walk after work. My morning walk is usually ~1.5 hours for 8k steps, and the…
-
If that works for you, then that's great. For myself, I don't see the use. I've got workout time, and I've got free time. I don't feel the need to stress about working out extra when I already work out. I need that down time like I need air, haha. Whether that's Facebook or something else is irrelevant; I'm not…

This is coming from someone who can't even touch her toes, but it looks like supported and unsupported vertical splits have your torso in two very different positions. Are you adjusting for that or are you trying to do a supported split and take your hand away? I don't think I've ever seen a dancer do that for anything…

What exercises are you trying that have made you dizzy besides the karate? Also, walking counts. You could just do more of that, if nothing else. You could go from walking to jogging, beginning with very very slow pacing and gradually increasing so you can find a speed you don't get dizzy with. I would imagine starting low…
-
Yeah, that makes sense. The answer I got on the Fitbit boards was basically that the Flex 2 is newer than the One, and so calculates a little differently (hopefully better). Either way, I'm not going to stress about it anymore, haha. Thanks!

I drink a SlimFast as part of breakfast and sometimes a snack. 20g of protein and 5g fiber for 190 calories is pretty good, and it can help with cravings. You can do the same thing with a protein bar if you don't like drinks, or some other protein powder. As long as you log it and don't expect it to be a magic cure, I…
