I am also back here after a successful 86 pound loss and a subsequent 92 pound gain. I am 6 months in (as of tomorrow) and at least 30 pounds down. I am only weighing once a month to keep my focus on healthy behaviors and not neurotic scale watching. I am trying to lose the weight very slowly this time. Some days I get…

Hang in there! When I start to feel defeated I have to remember that this is a long term lifestyle change, and that if I eat healthy and exercise regularly eventually my weight will fall into line. If you quit then there is no chance it will get better.

I lost 86 pounds (on a 5' frame) a few years ago and I had the same experience. As an obese person, I couldn't see myself properly - "I couldn't be that big!" I was normal weight until my late 20's so the person I expect to see in the mirror is thin. Even as I gained (ALL) the weight back, I couldn't see it. I am losing…

I have a little over 50 to lose. I have lost it one time before, but gained it all back. I am trying to make smaller more lasting changes to my behaviors instead of perfection dieting.

I am able to establish new patterns fairly easily, and they make my life so much simpler. Sustaining a habit is the bigger challenge for me. I eat the same thing for breakfast every day - because I like it and it fills me up and gives me good energy. I eat a similar lunch most days, but I have some healthy back-ups that…

I lost 86 pounds a few years ago with exercise and MFP (very sensible.) Then I quit drinking and accidentally ate too much ice cream a couple of hundred times and gained it all back. I totally used food as a comfort during stressful times, and I felt horrible about it. Guilt, shame, hopelessness - I've had it all! BUT, I…

I just started back after a long time off (during which I gained back all my weight.) Feel free to add me.

Hello! I am back on MFP again after regaining most of the weight I lost. I lost 86 pounds on MFP a few years ago and I have gained 78 of them back. Yuck. I am an emotional eater who turns to ice cream when I feel lonely, or tired, or bored, or happy. I want to lose this weight and change my behavior. I don't need to get…

Yes it will. Don't give up, and be kind to yourself. Oh, and did I say "Don't give up"? Cause, "Don't." I am 5' tall, 41 years old and started at 196. I have been hanging out at 113-117 for the past several months, so you can do it. :)

Seeing a picture of myself at 196 pounds (I am 5' tall) was enough to 1) make me cry and 2) give me the determination I needed to change my life. I needed that pain to kick me into gear. Face it, embrace it, erase it!

Great job! I am on week 5 of Insanity, and I highly recommend it!

I am on day 1 of a sweet strike, so I feel your pain. Hang in there. It will get better. :)

At 5' tall and 196 pounds, I could only walk for 10 minutes at a time, and I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Gradually, I added more and more exercise, and it got easier as I lost more and more weight. Just do what you can do and push yourself a little. As long as you don't give up you WILL get there! Don't let…

-
You are always such an inspiration to me!
-
I agree with this.

Take a deep breath, forgive yourself and move on. Every day is a new chance to make a good decision. Accept that you cannot change the past, and the future doesn't begin until tomorrow. So focus on today. Right now. You can do this!

I try to get my water in before drinking any soda, and I limit myself to one diet soda per day. It is my afternoon treat!
-
Doughnuts. I like them, but for some reason I have always been able to refuse them.
-
Absolutely I will be working out!
-
Great job! Keep up the good work and you'll rock that Marathon! It can be done!

I am 5' tall and 40, and I have lost 79 pounds since January 2012. You can do it.
