The fact that that you have been kinda yo-yoing with your diet for so long can cause your body a little longer to adjust! Instead of a couple of weeks, it may be a couple of months. Remember eating too more didn't do anything good for you and eating too little didn't do anything for you either! Let your body get used to…

I have been trying to download it for a week. no dice. I have searched and searched but no luck so I just found another website(i think it was bodybuilding.com) that some one had posted one that they made. I can email it to you is you PM me your email address

Ha! My boyfriend did this one time but instead of an umbrella it was a cell phone charger and instead of a library he went to a hotel and told him he stayed there last month and said he forgot his charger! Worked like a charm!

make your diary public in your settings so that we can :)

Yes ma'am I have similar stats to you (4'11 and 139) and 1200 is too low! your body will get used to it and you will have trouble maintaining for the rest of your life if you keep it up! Remember, you want to look good, but not at the cost of having to eat low calories for the rest of your life! I would net your BMR to…

Thanks guys! I talked to one of my friends that is a health and exercise nut and he recommended that I just use dumb bells on my shoulders and do the squats and it worked just fine! I forgot about the steps in the circuit room until I got there. It was perfect! This is the first day I actually feel sore after lifting in a…

I love the ceviche salad there and I have them make my margaritas with lime juice, tequila, splash of triple sec sweetened with agave and that's it! Way lower in calories and it tastes better IMO.

Oh, thanks for the info! I didn't even know what the machine was called until I saw someone posting that it was no good and then googled it. lol. I mean I know the basic equipment since I took weight lifting class in HS, but that was 12 years ago!!
-
Ack! Ok, that makes sense. I am thinking I should either find another exercise to do instead or find another gym to go to that has the proper equipment.
-
The only question I can answer is about the log/book issue as I am starting the program today and have many of the same questions as you. I have a smart phone so I took a picture of all the exercises for today so I can reference and used a check list app (color not for android) to list my exercises and log the weight info…

My gym only has the smith machine. How much is this going to impact my workouts? I am starting today.

Are you using a HRM to track your burns? I take it as Moderate is working out 3-5 days per week for around an hour per work out or Moderate intensity (the talk test) The talk test is a simple way to measure relative intensity. As a rule of thumb, if you're doing moderate-intensity activity you can talk, but not sing,…

It is very possible with strength training that you could be that weight (143) and still be the size that you want. I would focus on BF% instead of the scale. Sometimes the scale plays mind games.

I am starting today and I am finding that the numbers in the book are HIGHER than my TDEE-20% I hope I am eating enough, I really want to do this right!!

I agree. I use mine purely because it was built in to my bathroom scale and for trending purposes.

It's a Weight Watchers Glass Body Fat Scale here is a link to the good housekeeping review: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/product-reviews/health-products/bathroom-scale-reviews/best-bathroom-scales#slide-22

Try this one: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/mbf/ It is about .2-.5 points shy of my measurements on my scale (which was rated one of the best for BF%)

I will let you know! I just got my book today. I know a lot of ladies in the eat more to weigh less group has read and have had great results from the program. I would check the group out.
-
Congrats!!! I just got my book today, thanks for the post (I am sure it is awesome from the part of the arm showing, but I think it needs to be re sized) :-)

AHH! My boyfriend does the same thing!!! He can eat whatever he wants and never gain, but I am 4'11" so our calorie intake is very different. I had to sit down and have a talk with him about it. I had to tell him to stop giving me the sad face when he feels bad that he ordered something fried and I didn't. Also to stop…

They talk about this on the podcast http://www.fat2fitradio.com. I really enjoy listening to them, they really do their research!

I would say that you may have better luck with adding a little more protein to your diet. I notice that this site puts protein pretty low especially if you work out. I would also check your BMR under tools and make sure you are netting no lower than that.
-
I don't think it will hurt for you to eat more. Alot of people find success upping their calories once they are close to goal. I say up and report back your findings! The same thing happened to me when I went out of town for my birthday a few weeks ago. I upped my calories after that! I lost about .5 pounds since so I am…

Hey hun! I am sorry about all the backlash from all the other posters! I guess I read another article, or maybe I just kinda understand what you have going through. I heard in your post that you are smart and know that 600 calories a day or even a 1000 is too low to maintain and be healthy. That's great! That means you…

I have one and it is crap. If you can take it back, I would. It isn't really accurate if you got the one that doesn't require a chest strap. I would order a polar 4ft on bodytronics.com for the same price (about $60)

Chobani for sure! I think the Okios taste chalky to me. My new fav breakfast that actually holds me over til lunch is: 1 6oz thing of chobani plain fat free 1 honey tangerine 20 grams of honey almond granola 1 teaspoon stevia It is yummy!

Yeah, we tried spicy she freaked out. She also is afraid of anything hot (understandable) but she also is afraid of anything really cold like ice cream. I think it's the extreme sensation you get.

when you tear open a granola bar then forget that you didn't log it so you piece the barcode together so you can scan it. Or when you have that debate with yourself when the wrapper goes in the trash. Do I fish it off the top or do I try and search it in the database? lol
