  • Way to go! I am back at it also! 4 years after having my baby girl I have struggled to get back to ore-pregnancy weight. Down 17lbs so fat and another 15 to go! Let’s do this!!
  • Great job girlfriend... you're doing the right things. Keep at it. You WILL reach your goal! Weighloss and nutirition is a life change and it's not easy. You have had GREAT sucess so far and it will continue. Way to go :) cheers! Steph
  • Can't. Stop. Crying. I had to get out of the car and stop listening to the radio. When I got back into the office it was on the news. I can't focus on work now, this is SO heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and community hit by this so very tragic event. What the EFF is wrong with humanity! The…
  • Amazing, thanks for the post. I have been kicking up my cardio like CRAZY and although I can run now for 30 mins and not die, I feel like I need to kick up my lifting. I would love to hear what your routine is for your arms/back and abs. I have access to a gym at work and I think I have 8lb dumbells at home…
  • You look great! keep at it and you'll reach your goal. Great sucess story, thanks for sharing!
  • Good call.. yeah I see what you're saying. I think I need to tone it down a bit and focus on working out with a lower HR and see if I can increase speed etc w/o increasing perceived effort. Apprecite your reply, thanks so much!
  • Thanks Freda! Appreciate it! :)
  • I haven't.. but I will, thank you!
  • LOL I second that :) Let us know how it turns out in an Asian soup if you try it! I like it but haven't experimented much with it. I like Acorn squash much better but would be willing to try more recipes if you find something that works! Cheers :)
  • Amazing.. thanks SO much for your reply, I really appreciate your feedback!
  • I know, right!! I often wonder if I'm going to give myself a heart attack! It's really boggling my mind these days, so I had to post and ask. I say, let's listen to the replies here, and I think you're ok, girlfriend and all the power to you for kicking it up the way you do! Way to go :)
  • Oh my, what the heck is a lactate threshold test? It doesn't at all sound what I think you mean it to be ha! Googling that LOL
  • You're right... I have been considering going to an exercise philologist because I'd really like to know the real numbers. LOL to the four young male athletes back in the 70's :) Thanks for your note!
  • hehe thanks :) So I guess 186 (220-34) is pretty close to what I'm hitting.. but that's a great workout to me so..... Ahh.. things that make you go HMMM! :)
  • Good to know, and thanks for your reply! I was considering going to the DR too. I am curious what my resting HR is. I just thought that BY NOW it would go down from exercise because my body is used to the high intensity workouts. Guess not! lol!
  • I am 34, 5'8" and I am using a Polar F7 watch and chest strap to measure my HR. I guess I'm just wondering if others are experiencing the same 'high' HR... The only time I feel like I"m going to pass out is when I hit 192 for 30+ seconds, but I can usually manage to stay at 168-178 for a full 45 minutes and feel like I've…
  • Mind Blown. You look incredible and I hope you are SO very proud of your progress! Congratulations on your success thus far, I wish you all the best to reach your goal! GREAT Work, keep it up girl!
  • HA! ME TOO! I go through jeans as well. One pair I got patched like 4 times because they were the best pair of Guess skinny jeans I've ever had and couldn't live without them. It's annoying, but I have found spinning to help my legs tone up and I don't notice the rub AS much, but it's still there. It probably will be…
  • Wow - kudos for tracking your food types and amounts. It is a little crazy to think someone eating raw could gain weight, but if you're not eating enough satisfying foods, I can absolutely see how you would over-eat. Congrats on losing now and I wish you luck on your goal!
  • Good call. I need to do more upper body weights and rowing after I spin. I need to get back to that.. thanks for sharing your exercises - I'm going to give 'em a try :)
  • Re: Cauliflower crust pizza: OOohhh I love this recipe. It doesn't get as crispy as I would like, but I love the flavour of all the toppings and you can't even tell its cauliflower! YUM!
  • Welcome! I agree that 1100 calories is too low. Def amp it up a bit and eat to your calorie goal. I went heavy on the cardio when I started and still do, as I spin twice a week... but I have found that yoga once a week has helped my upper body stay toned. Sometimes I get bored of the weights and I have found yoga to be a…
  • These are my all time favourite quinoa veggie burgers, courtesy of Chatelaine magasine. I serve them on a grilled portobello mushroom cap, with a slice of cheese, a slice of tomato and a dollop of tzatziki. I can't stop raving about them. Ingredients 1/2 cup uncooked quinoa (about 2 cups cooked) 1 tsp vegetable oil 1/2 227…
  • I loved quinoa so much I wanted to try quinoa flour and flakes. I add it to my own granola bars... I also started making quinoa coconut pancakes which are delish. All quinoa is so versatile... hope you guys enjoy this recipe! Here's the recipe: Coconut Quinoa Pancakes (can be shared with kids 8+ mos)* makes about 12…
  • AAh-mazing! You look incredible! I especially love your short hair.. you look fantastic, and so beautiful! Congratulations and keep at it! You have so much to be proud of!
  • Sadly, my fav - spicy salmon/tuna maki rolls are about 450 calories. I just logged one today for lunch and almost fell of my chair.
  • I have a recipe on my blog here for granola bars that I make myself. They are approx 160 calories and they gives me the chew and sweet that I sometime crave. Check it out.. I also like knowing all the ingredients in them, and no preservatives.
  • I agree and that's why I use my HR monitor. I find it helps me nail down the calories burned and I never rely on the machines anymore. I am also trying to do more exercise outside... no machines there, the HR monitor is essential.
  • Girl, you should be so proud of yourself! You look fantastic and I bet you feel like a million bucks. You have such a gorgeous face! Congratulations on the weight loss, keep it going, stay focused! You're an inspiration!!! :)
  • Cannot wait to make these tomorrow night. Thanks so much for posting the recipe!
