  • Almost all restaurants provide food high in sodium. I just grit my teeth, order what I like, and eat fresh veggies, like their garden salad. Then the next few days ignore what the scale says and drink lots of water to ditch the excess sodium, hah!
  • My NSV for today - raked, bagged the leaves from my entire backyard without getting winded. Also- ran out of fingers to put my wedding ring on. Finally
  • Feel free to check out my profile. Started at 355, am down to 239. Been keeping pixs every 2 months :)
  • I started on the treadmill a month ago. Hate it. Would rather be outside, and if I were less lazy I would switch back, but at this point meh. The treadmill walking vs outside walking is so different. Your pace varies outside, on the treadmill you hit a pace and stick it out, only elevation changes (if youre on the program…
  • Yep, its franchised. that is all.
  • ETA: Best Cheat Day EVER
  • Again - places like Golds gym turned a VERY cold shoulder at my interest in their facility. Perhaps thats THEIR way of catering to the people feeling picked on because they are perceived as "too fit" if I understand the complaints correctly. I don't think any place of business directly challenges people joining due to body…
  • I gave up soda 2 years ago for non-weight related reasons. Since starting this I've more or less given up the "drinking" calories like juice - though there are days I have just poured a small 4 oz glass and watered it down just cause I wanted the flavor. I don't really CRAVE the juice anymore. I've more or less given up…
  • Oh my GOD! You look HOT. Are you sure thats you in both photos?! :noway: Congrats on such remarkable endurance, perseverance and positively fantastic results! :flowerforyou:
  • ETA: For me PF is perfect. I have a membership because I want to be able to afford doing intro strength stuff - the only other gyms in the area are WOW and YMCA, and Golds Gym. Golds is a tiny gym, and the manager made me feel very unwelcome. YMCA starts at $70 a month and have a miniscule strength circuit compared to PF.…
  • I couldn't do it.. I couldn't even stand up to my manager speaking Dutch while chomping on a juicy apple. It was pretty awful having to wash my face every time she had something to say :S
  • omfg, talk about a great supper. You should totally have shared with me
  • Don't do cheat days, but there was that one time when cheese fondue attacked me and forced me to eat it and I was up 5lbs that weekend and took 2 weeks to work it back off and get back to where I had been. Ahh such a delicious beat down :) I won't soon forget it  (Sodium and I have serious conflict issues. It loves…
  • Not sure what youre looking for but... If you're dong cardio, and burn off XX calories - log it as such, then you get a bigger calorie deficit on MFP. Eat at least half of those calories back if you are trying to lose weight, all of them back if you are in maintenance, and if you are over or under slightly, who cares.…
  • Cardio 5 days a week - 35-60 minutes each time, depending on my mood, hit target heart rate and keep it there using a treadmill. Strength circuit 6 days a week (alternating muscle groups) No idea if its a great idea, but its working for me for the last 4 weeks
  • That sign isn't up at my PF (not that I can see anyway.) Not that I knew what deadlifting meant until I googled it   I don't think I have ever seen anyone doing it at the gym, and TBH I can almost 'get' why. These types of gyms are very newbie friendly, and for a newb to walk in and think "ohhey I wanna do…
  • I have an armband thingy for my phone, I wear workout pants that have pockets usually. Else, like at my walking 5k, I leave my keys with hubby and everything else in a top secret compartment in my locked stow n go van >.> When walking "off treadmill" or "au natural" I take along a fanny pack for the keys.
  • My diary is open to the general public, my friends list is small and manageable, and all are welcome to comment on it. Thing is I have enough confidence in my food choices that I don't care if people think my kaas fondue 2 weeks ago that I ate half a baguette with (omg yay! so good!) was a terrible decision or whatever…
  • Australian, Brit, Dutch in that order .. I can't go to Australia ever or Id be all doe-y eyed and drooling (and maybe other things >.>) at the guys who say g'day. Every days a g'day
  • Ive been equally confused by the whole protein issue - and spoke to my fitness trainer, and my reg dietitian- both said (for me doing toning, and not bulking up) that protein Im getting on a daily basis derived from the foods I eat is more than enough. My dietitian elaborated on why, and I found it fascinating - the body…
  • Egg yolks are high in cholesterol but that isn't a huge issue, its eating them in combination with a thousand other high in cholesterol foods that you need to start sweating the bad numbers. Id eat them more often than twice a week if I didn't have so many other tasty options to pick from  EGGS AREN'T EVIL At least…
  • It is impossible if you never try. It is impossible if you accept defeat as the final outcome. It is impossible if you decide you cannot do this. That being said: My heaviest was 355 at the start of this year. I have had to roll with child #2 leaving home while I was in surgery for gall bladder removal, Child #1 deciding…
  • 1 - Never say no to something I want, just plan on more exercise that day. 2 - 5 days of cardio, 5 days of alternating str toning, 2 rest days 3 - Moderation, moderation, moderation. 4 - If you're hungry- eat, no point starving yourself. Just know the difference between feeding boredom, and feeding hungry. 5 - Keep fresh…
  • A startling fact. Lots of topless sunbathers on the public beaches of Holland. Not all of them are guys! There is no self respect issues - just tan line concerns  It was startling for me as a newcomer to the NL many moons ago cause you just dont HAVE that here in the US! I am positive there are many similar…
  • If you are clothes are geared for getting attention from the people around you (the more revealing the more attention) then ya - loads of self respect issues there. I personally am looking forward to being skinny enough to wear a hot dress so my hubby won't take me out to dinner in it *wink wink*
  • I don't log food for my MFP friends, I do it for me so why would I lie to myself? The FEW times I sort of err 'adjust the numbers' if you will is if I accidentally skipped a snack time and ate something extra at a meal to compensate - rather than adding it all under 1 meal I add it as the snack it was intended to be. So I…
  • Enjoy those calories while you can, MFP will whittle you down slowly but surely, lmao :) Keep up the great work and don't knock the early success!!
  • Sweety I was EXACTLY where you are not too long ago. I know how hard it is to see the changes when youre losing weight - its always nice to SEE them not just see the numbers moving. So. Let me be one of those people who tell you what you want to hear but can't see yet : Your cheeks look slimmer, under your chin looks like…
  • Different body types, different levels of activity, and different workout routines all line up to make each person lose weight at a very personalised speed. I lose .6lbs a night, when I was much heavier the amount was higher- I suspect when I get nearer my goal weight I will be losing a LOT slower (sort of hope so.) It's…
  • Id rather hear 'Love you' as hubby rushes out the door late for work, or hanging up the phone, late for a meeting than never hear it at all. I much prefer "I love you" when hes hugging on me, or we're snuggling up close. I hate acronymed affectations. the whole "i heart you," thing kinda ticks me off, it turns love into…
