I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Isn't it the best?! I've been a "runner" for about a year or so, and to be honest, I still hate it some days. But then there are those days that everything falls into place and it feels perfect. Totally worth the effort. :)

I started almost exactly a year ago too (well, started with INTENTION, I was on MFP in January of 2012.) I've lost just about 30lbs too. I'm 5'7" at 175ish and started at 205. i LOVE seeing someone who started this journey when I did with similar weight loss results. Here's to the next year and on!

large amounts of uncooked veggies (any kind) will add bulk to your meals and help you to feel full. Also lots of water while you eat and during the day.

Take my advice (I wish someone had given it to me when I was your age): All you need to do to lose weight is CONSISTENTLY maintain a calorie deficit. No diet pills, no special foods, just a calorie deficit. For you, I would say start at 1600-1700 NET calories. Granted you can achieve a deficit easier by exercising (gives…

Amazing, you look terrific! This site has changed me too, so much for the better.

What a great thread!! Makes me feel not so alone. I've always hated my body type/frame and felt gigantic no matter what. I'm 5'7" and change and started out back in 2007 at 220. I'm now 185 and my goal is 150/140 or a body fat percentage of around 20%, whichever comes first.

You should be more upset that in 2012, men still earn, on average, 15 to 20% more than their female counterparts. No go drink some wine and chill out.

those pictures were weird.

You know what I think? I think some smart fella should post weight room etiquette (WITH PICTURES) for some of the most commonly implemented training sets because that is the one thing that keeps me out of the weight room and in a weight training class - I don't want to look like a rude dumb *kitten*. Any takers? :) ( also,…

I just want to say that I love Coke Zero Cherry with ALL my heart. Unfortunately, I am so neurotic about consuming any kind of soda that I can't fully enjoy drinking it. Analogy of my entire life.
