I prefer the steam room and I use it for unwinding after a workout. I think a good sweat can be beneficial for detox reasons, but not for weight loss. An aside: I have a lot of pet peeves for behavior in steam rooms/saunas, haha. One of them does relate to people who go in there for a "workout". WTF? I'm also a Virgo, so…

Thanks dude :)

Interesting, thanks for that. My frame is bigger than most women my height (size 11 feet) so I don't have an average build at all. Hence me always thinking I'm fatter than I really am. I'll be interested to see when I drop more weight if I really do need to lose 45 lbs. It may be more like 30...

Hey Dan, I've read your post before but I guess my reading comprehension is lacking :p Appreciate that info, btdubs. My TDEE is 2550 (according to this: http://www.fitnessfrog.com) and the Katch-MacArdle BMR for me is 1721. So at a 30% cut TDEE that would bring me to approx 1575. So basically I should be eating about 400…

Yep, eat back your exercise calories with your goal being to net 1200 at the end of the day.

Add me, girl, if you wanna. I'm pretty encouraging!

I like this.

Please don't cut your net calories under 1200. Your body needs a MIN of 1200 net calories. You risk harming yourself and lowering your metabolism, which will only make your weight loss efforts more difficult. Net 1200 a day and I promise you, you will lose. (Net, though. So if you burn 300 calories working out, you should…

I signed up this past January and only recently got on the forums. Biggest mistake of my life.

um, this is amazing. I don't see a problem. In fact, I see a solution. More dinosaur money.

I think you should do more weight training, girl! As you lose more fat (not weight) you will be so ripped. nbd.

The steam room is broken so I now have to use the sauna.

I've heard of this as well. It's common with Ayurvedic diets. It's important to note that this practice does NOT have anything to do with weight loss, though. It's about giving your digestive system a rest to allow for restoration, not digestion. (i.e breaking the fast.) I think there's some merit to it, but again, not for…

I want to see other funny MFPals responses to this thread so I have to type "BUMP."

TaeBo!! I pretty much memorized my VHS copy in high school. I also made illegal copies for my friends by rigging up another VHS player to my TV, so pro.

I ran out of almond milk and had to use yogurt in my smoothie. It was too thick.

No, never!!! Good on you for going outside of your comfort zone. Your trainer was likely trying to get you transitioned into doing more intense training by starting with those modifications. You know your limits and you know when you can work harder. Push yourself, and let your trainer know when you want to push harder.…

Haha, I hate that! #5: There were no 8lb hand weights available for my 21's, so I had to use the 10lb and got stronger.

Getting really personal here. I feel like I've had good judgement in every other part of my life except fitness and health. I've been overweight basically since puberty and although I've lost about 70 lbs over the last 6 years (and kept it off), I don't feel like I've done it in a smart or healthy way. Not to mention, I…

No, I wouldn't hate you! I just hate the response "Do what?" - it sounds ridiculous, ha. And I have to ask people to repeat themselves all the time, you're not alone.
-
I feel like such a pervert right now.
-
Oh, I also hate the response to a misheard/unheard question or statement: "Do what?" THAT SOUNDS STUPID. I'm a hater.

I'm from Dallas and I HATE y'all, especially as a written "word". Nails on chalkboard.
