I see you are ultimately only trying to lose 11 lbs, so I would probably change it to 1/2 a lb a week...that's more realistic.
-
I think the calories are so low, because at 176 lbs for a man, you probably shouldn't be shooting for 2 lbs a week loss. Maybe change it to a pound a week or maybe even half a pound. You aren't too far from your ultimate goal at 176 lbs.

I can't even imagine. I have never been able to shop at any normal stores, even when I was in high school. I can't wait for that to happen, but it will be a long time from now.

Woohoo! I've lost a 5-gallon bottle of water or an average human leg, but edging in on an elephant's heart!

I really don't think I will be all that attractive even when I lose all the weight, especially since I will have extra skin around my stomach, arms, and such, even with weight training. I doubt anyone will be attracted to me, but if they are, that will be a plus. I am doing this more for my health and to be around for my…

You started a pound heavier than I did, but my face was so much heavier than yours, and still is, even after losing 40 lbs. Your face looks great. I wish I could see the rest of you, though. I would love to get an idea of what -125 would look like on me, sort of, maybe. Congrats!

You are so inspiring! Thanks for sharing your journey!

Hopelessly single, and probably will be for the rest of my life. I have been single for a LONG time.

Princess :) Actually, I am hopelessly unemployed...have apps out all over town.

There are way more than I ever thought existed. Great question, OP!

Being a vegetarian doesn't mean all one consumes is vegetables.

I really like this thread. Great job!

It's just my son and I, but he eats the same foods I eat. I eat normal foods, not "diet foods", so there's no reason to cook anything different for him. Why not make the same foods, but watch your portions? I just don't understand why it is hard. I am trying to teach my child to eat healthier, so I don't feed him a bunch…

I see a lot of people talking on this thread about "losing weight"...yes, you can lose weight eating very little, but you can also lose muscle, and become very unhealthy. Lots of people on here have also shared their experience with how it has hurt them in the past. Lots of people are saying "it works for me, I'm losing…

Um, no...this is not the reason you are fat. You eat too much and move too little...or you did before you started to lose weight.
-
So, if you eat around 1200, and burn 400 or more calories, your net total for the day is less than 800...this is exactly what the OP is talking about... Also, to the OP...I began a thread like this, a couple months ago, and it turned into a mad house, and eventually was deleted by the moderators...just a heads up...

1991 Chevy Cavalier Station Wagon...I upgraded about 4 years ago from an '89 Oldsmobile Station Wagon...I have no clue how many miles there are on it, since the odometer has been broken since I got it...and it has been stuck on 189,000 or around there since then...lol.

Thanks for the complete recipe and instructions!

Yeah, what's up? I am so confused...

I have found what has been working for me, but I thought maybe there was an even better way, that would make it go faster. I have not felt deprived, and felt the way I was doing it was sustainable. I am just sad, because I still feel like I could do better, and faster.

What's a date? I think I forgot, because I haven't been on one in years...I prefer my men older, but I am getting a lot older myself, so I think my cap is getting smaller. I am 37, and just can't picture myself with someone over 50. I have dated (and married) men (and women) anywhere from 4 years older, to 17 years older…

It isn't about being competitive, it is about wanting this weight off. I have picked a goal weight for myself, and I actually upped it a month or so ago. MFP is not suggesting 1200...In fact, MFP suggests over 1700 for me, but I want to lose more, faster. And, yes, lots of people on this site say if people are very obese…

I have decided to just start eating 1000-1200 calories, and see how that goes. That seems to be working for so many people, so that is what I will try. If I pass out or feel bad, I am sure I will get over it. It will definitely take some getting used to. But, since everyone is saying that very obese people can safely do…

So, a lot of people have said if someone is over 100 lbs overweight, than they can afford to eat 1200 or less, so basically starving themselves, and it is okay. So, maybe that is what I need to try. I just don't think I can eat 1200 calories. I feel starved if I eat 1500 calories, even if it is all veggies and protein rich…

Thanks..I have studied all this stuff, and it still confuses me, because there are still a ton of people who eat way below BMR and say they CAN'T eat at their BMR or they GAIN...they are adamant about it, saying they have tried it and it didn't work for them. It just makes me wonder if they can do it, can I? I don't know,…

The problem is I still have SO much more to lose, and want to get it off, and if I can get it off faster, and still do it healthy, than I want to do that...but I also don't want to hurt myself...I am just so tired of being fat, and I guess I am just jealous that some people can do it, and I can't.
-
But, I don't know what works best for me...that's why I posted this...I said I was confused, and wish I knew what was best for me. I want to try and lose faster, but it scares me because it hurts some people...yet others have no problems with it...I wish I knew which type of person I was.

I am seeing people with less than 100 lbs to lose eating at very large deficits, and they never eat back any exercise calories...and they are doing fantastic. About the nutritionist, I can't afford one, and my doctor says I am doing a great job, and he has seen great results in my labs since I began losing weight and…

These look really good, and I get my first CSA box on Wednesday...I really hope there's some zucchini in there!
