Thank you all so much for your replies! It's nice to know we aren't alone in this! Keep on working hard to reach your goals. My progress is slow, but I'm definitely getting there.

Isabelle, this post is to be supportive to other new moms. As someone who lost 118 pounds before having a baby, it IS much harder to lose after having a baby. I have MUCH less time and energy to work out now. I still make time for it, but it's difficult to do so with being a working mom to an infant. I AM losing weight and…

Thanks everyone for your replies! It's definitely harder to lose weight after having babies, but it is do-able! The 34 I've lost in the 7 months since giving birth have been SO hard and slow in coming off... but slow progress is still progress. Keep on working hard, ladies! We will all get there. :)

Thanks for all your comments! It's nice to know we aren't alone. Yes, I'm a working mom too so time is hard to come by at the moment. Keep on pushing though... I've found that my baby is a great motivator. I want to be healthy for him!

You will get there! My starting weight was close to yours. Keep on fighting!
-
Good luck to you! It sounds like you are making great progress so far. Congrats on the little one too!! :)

It sounds like you are on track and doing the right thing. I gained 100 pounds from my antidepressants over a four year period. I stopped taking them cold turkey in January 2012 and started my weight loss journey. I have since lost that "medication" weight. Keep on working at it - the weight will come off.

I know that I'm not really all that fat anymore but I am still self-conscious of my body and think my stomach and legs are still fat. It's hard to break out of the old perception, but I still have work to do. Not sure if I will ever be totally happy with my body!

I am not a "clean" eater and just count calories. I have been very successful in weight loss. Obviously, cleaner eating has more health benefits, but I've lost weight just logging calories and not eating clean.

I use all three and have been for the 2 years I have been on this journey. Elliptical is the most gentle on knees and legs though, in my opinion.

Polar FT4. I've been using it for about 2 years now and highly recommend it. The prices have come way down on it too.

Thank you all for sharing your stories with me here and for your kind comments!

I have one once a week, and I know for a fact I could not have come this far and lost this much weight without them. They keep me sane.

On a message board! We were both writing that we were shy so we became friends and started messaging each other. Then we were friends on Facebook, then later started Skyping. Then after a few months, he came to visit me in New York from California and he never left. Two months after arriving, he proposed. We are getting…

I hear you on this! I'm 5' 3 and 158 pounds. I wear an 8 or 10 and still have a large stomach and thighs. I still have 28 pounds to lose but everyone is always shocked. I've come this far already, and won't stop until I'm happy. Not going to bust my butt losing all this weight to still not like how I look. P.S. saw you are…

Very cool! Thanks!

Thanks to all for your kind words! Means a lot! Very disheartened by a few people though who came on here and criticized. It's very rude to do that on someone's success story, telling me that I'm on a diet (really? Do people go on a diet for 16 months? Don't think so). Another person telling me that losing weight is easy…

I am blown away by all your kind words and hearing some of your stories too. Thank you all so much!

Thanks everyone for your kindness and support. I know my methods may not work for everyone, but this has worked for me and maybe for others as well. :flowerforyou:

The whole point of this post, as I stated, is that this is NOT a diet and that I have changed my life, so,I'm not too sure what you're getting at.
-
Thank you! Yes, it really is simpler than people think, just hard to put it into action!

Just dropped off my engagement ring to be resized down!

I NEVER had surgery. I changed my mindset and attitude, and therefore have lost successfully and kept the weight off. I know several people who had the surgery but thought it would solve their problems without changing their mindset. They gained the weight back.

Way to go! Proud to be your friend! Keep kicking butt!

Baby steps to start!! Walk a few minutes if you can, until you can do more... cut back a little on the calories until you can cut back more. You are courageous and you have taken the first step! Keep on stepping!

Getting married October 5th! I met my fiancé on here! :)

I love my Brooks. I was fitted at a local Fleet Feet store, and they recommended several shoes to me based on my stride and foot.

I started running 9 months ago and just ran a 15K (9.3miles). When I started, I could hardly run for more than a few seconds. I run AND do weights and cardio at the gym, but really, to improve running, just keep running! The more you do it, the better you'll get.
-
I am the exact opposite. I can run outside for miles, but on a treadmill, can hardly run two miles! I thnk it just depends where you started running. For me, I started running outside and over the winter when I was forced to use the treadmill, my body was not used to it. Try running on an outdoor track maybe? That's what I…

This might sound silly, but I use a big water bottle that has a straw. I find myself mindlessly sipping it at work and drinking about 12 cups a day. On the weekends at home, I actually drink less because I drink out of glasses a t home. Try a straw!
