being short is an issue that many can't understand :) It's almost a bit discouraging to know that at our height (I am just under 5'3") we have crazy numbers we should weigh....I mean our range is like 100-130 lbs....that number seems unattainable when you are starting out at 200lbs. My advice is to run.....when we start…

I think that something "happens" to us in this process....we start out needing one thing but as we lose and gain experience we need something different which means we need a different "type" of friend to help us through the next phase of our process. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not but I have seen it in myself. I…

hum.......my favorite sandwich when I have the extra calories for it is peanut butter and banana.....yes I can say that there are "natural peanut butters" versus Jif so perhaps that is what she is referring to?

makes me wish there was a place on profiles to list your "weight loss beliefs" so you could search out others to befriend who believe in the same ideas :) might be more motivational as some people lose weight to have others who have similar beliefs :flowerforyou:

soooo glad to see this thread :) I'm 5'3" and my original goal is 140 at age 45 SW 204 CW 151.2 GW 140

Great job so far and to everyone reading this.....please please please take pictures. You might not think you can see the loss but each month put your pictures side by side and all of a sudden you will SEE it. Take pictures....you won't regret it! Congrats on the progress so far!

congrats on your success so far and I"M RIGHT THERE WITH YA :) I'm down to my last 11 lbs til goal and it's slowing down and harder to lose. Just posted a topic TODAY about trying to be happy with a .2 pound weight loss when 7 or 8 used to be the average. We can do this but it would be awfully nice to have others around…

I hope others read this thread and see that obsessing over the "number of pounds lost" is a small part of the journey and that measuring yourself, getting stronger, exercising goals, and other things all spell success too :) I hope the "downward slope" on the weight loss report is enough to remember that whether it was a…

I am 45 and going through early menopause now :( (haven't had a cycle since June) and have a couple suggestions....first please eat. Eat regularly....breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a couple snacks in between. Yes you have to choose your food well....you need low calorie foods with lean protein so you can eat regularly…

That's is great and you are awesome not only for doing it....but for posting it! I hope others continue to post these messages of encouragement to others so everyone realizes that the c25k program is for ANYONE wanting something more :) I was 204 at 5'3" when I started and I huffed and puffed in the beginning and…

Congrats! Good luck on your marathon!

You have done an incredible job! Congrats and it's nice to see that big smile in place of the unhappy look! Nice!!!
-
I think we all feel this way and I took the advise of those on here who said to do TWO things....pictures & clothes. I kept taking pictures and I lost each 10 lbs. You will hit a point where you put them side by side (especially awesome when you try on something you wore religiously when you first started this!!!!) and can…

thanks guys...I am not done yet but sure hope to make it to goal :) in the meantime I am happy with the running successes I've had and hope to keep on "keepin' on" :drinker:

Congrats and you are my hero :) I also started running in my journey to lose weight and have fallen in love with the alone time, the healthy weight loss, and the stress relief of it all!!!!!! I'm not at your marathon level, but I can follow in your footsteps and continue on my path and hope to be where you are in the…

You look amazingly happy...and for the record that is a beautiful picture of you! Congrats on your hard work!!!

awww...I wish we lived close too :) would be nice to have someone to run with sometimes :) we I guess we "virtually run together" instead!
-
I feel fortunate after reading all of these posts....I live in a small town and I run. I run all over town and honestly not sure anyone would ask me how I did it because it's hard to miss that I run. And as the weather turns colder they will see me run in the snow too I do hope :) At work people don't see me exercise so…

I should follow you down that path since I'm "headed your way"! so if you feel someone watching/stalking you then maybe it's me :)

omg...I like that! "Fat is hard....Fit is hard....Choose your hard".

I am certainly no expert and in my process of learning I have read all the posts saying that it's "simple math" that you burn more calories than you eat; I too have found that I can not lose much just eating at a deficit. If I do not run I do not see much loss. I've been at this 7 months and I am starting to learn what…

Fabulous :) Congrats on your hard work!
-
just go to it....just go do whatever it is you can and please consider only having people on your friends list who work out most days and have successes to share. They will motivate you more the the ones who are in your same mindset and need YOUR encouragement...right now you need OUR encouragement so take some time out;…

congrats on your success.....but in all honesty the best achievement isn't on the scale...it was what you achieved in your mind. An attitude that you COULD and WOULD do it. I'm proud of you!

Jealousy is a nasty little disease most often exhibited by women.....sigh....imagine what we could accomplish if we'd stop being so incredibly catty. Ya look great and the best way to deal with it is to get to a place mentally where you smile, say something polite like "I'm sorry you feel that way", and kill 'em with…
