Just did a yummy Buddha bowl tonight. Roasted broccoli, carrots, and chickpeas with 1 TBSP oil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Made black rice. Made a spicy peanut sauce (peanut butter, lime juice, liquid smoke, milk, maple syrup, and cayenne powder). Super easy and tasty!

I'm 46 and had a full laparoscopic hysterectomy 2 years ago. I gained a bunch of weight, but really because I wasn't exercising or being careful about what I ate AT ALL. I started back on mfp last February and have lost 35 pounds. I've been riding my bike and doing some other stuff and I feel much more in shape and strong…

I have been using Achievement, which hooks into your other healthy apps (mfp, map my ride, stop think breathe, etc.) and gives you points for logging into and using those apps. When you hit 10,000 points, you get a $10 pay pal credit. It takes a LONG time to get to 10,000 points but just getting 'credit' for logging,…

Zatar! It's a middle eastern spice blend that I was introduced to by Hello Fresh a while back. I found it in the local mid-east grocery. Different and very good! It's great for roasted veggies :)

Another breast cancer survivor. Would love more survivor friends - please feel free to add me!

I had DCIS a few years ago at 40ish. I had a mastectomy (no recontruction) but didn't need chemo or radiation since it was still IS :) I then elected to have a hysterectomy (took everything including ovaries) since my mom has ovarian cancer. This put me into menopause of course, but I've got to say it's really been fine. I…

Mahsa and MrsDaso - my mom had thyroid cancer 30 years ago (also only needed surgery) and currently is fighting ovarian cancer. She's had the same experience with all the steroids MrsDaso - it's really tough :( But, hey, we beat cancer so I'm sure we can use that strength to get stronger and more fit too :)

WowCSARdiver - I didn't know that about cancer survivors - very intesting! Eff cancer for sure. Completely sucks! Sue - Stay strong!! I volunteer drive for the American Cancer Society and I take lots of folks to radiation. It's trying and grueling, but you can totally do it! The lady I drove today said she's tired but…

This is the best, easy soup ever!! Three Bean Soup!! 1 Cup = 187 cals, 2 g fat, 10 g fiber Saute until tender: 1 ½ cups diced onion 2 tsps garlic 2 tsps olive oil or canola oil 1 cup chopped green pepper (optional) Add and mix 16 oz. can kidney beans – rinsed 15 oz. can black beans – rinsed 16 oz. can refried beans…

Another vote for Premier Protein caramel flavor. They are awesome! I also just tried Costco's protein bar - so good!

Posting to see the comments - I have the same problem. I put so much junk in my coffee that it's just way too many calories. I've been forcing myself to drink it black during the week and then I make the doctored coffee a weekend treat. But it's hard for me to get excited about black coffee.

I'm in Youngstown Ohio, feel free to add me :)

Freeze the tofu for a few days, then thaw it out and use it. It makes a WORLD of difference. Changes the whole texture. I will only use tofu this way!

I am 44 and had a hysterectomy 2 years ago. My weight loss might be a bit slower than before, but that might also have been because I was younger! Generally, though, the same things that worked for me before work for me now. Log and exercise!

This is my favorite, filling, super easy, delicious, low cal/high nutrition soup: Three Bean Soup!! 1 Cup = 187 cals, 2 g fat, 10 g fiber Saute until tender: 1 ½ cups diced onion 2 tsps garlic 2 tsps olive oil or canola oil 1 cup chopped green pepper (optional) Add and mix 16 oz. can kidney beans – rinsed 15 oz. can black…

I hate to say this, but I have much less trouble with this when I work out earlier in the day. If I wait til evening, my trigger load is up and I'm much more likely to get a migraine. Early in the day I'm usually ok.

I've needed some new workout clothes and because of all the shout outs to Old Navy, I bought some stuff there tonight for the very first time! We'll see :)

Thanks OP for asking the question - that just came up this weekend and I was wondering too!

I've been doing instant oatmeal with chia seeds, slivered almonds, and wheat germ added. It's easy to do at work as you just need water and a microwave. I find it very quick, easy, tasty, and filling :)

I just became a big fan of the caramel Premier Protein - very tasty and just what I was looking for in terms of nutritional profile!

Hi, I had breast cancer a few years back and I'm currently helping my mom deal with her ovarian cancer diagnosis. I've gained all the weight I lost a few years back, so I'm back here working on getting it off again. I'm also in my mid forties, professor, married, no children.

I love cereal! Sometimes with milk sometimes without. I sometimes eat heartier cereals (Raisin Bran, Frosted Mini Wheats) as a meal. I sometimes use sugary cereal (Honey Smacks, Special K Chocolate, etc.) as a dessert.

I have a similar problem. When I'm used to eating something sweet after dinner, I have crazy sugar cravings. One thing I've found that's helped over the years is to switch to fruit juice and then cut that out or cut down too. I LOVE apple juice and grape juice, but normally don't let myself drink them because they're so…

I usually take a packet of instant oatmeal and add some wheat germ, slivered almonds, coconut shreds, and chia seeds to give it some heft and nutrition. Very easy, just add water and nuke!

When I was diagnosed in July, the nurse navigator said that breastcancer.org has solid, reliable information you can trust and an extensive set of discussion boards. I never added much to the discussions, but it was very good to have a place to get good info and where I could've asked questions. Don't google cancer - there…

Health issues tend to take over your life :( I'm sorry you're going through all this! Try to focus on making yourself feel better - light exercise that isn't too overwhelming. Remember, you don't have to run a marathon for it to be beneficial. Perhaps walking or swimming would help you control stress? Perhaps some gentle…

I was just diagnosed in July and am still in the freaking out stage. I don't know a whole lot yet. It's 5cm DCIS (at least at the moment - I'm expecting that's it's broken out of the duct since it's so large). Hormone negative. Don't know yet about HER2. Mastectomy scheduled for Aug 20. Getting a tissue expander put in…
