How to kick that dessert addiction?

I have a similar problem. When I'm used to eating something sweet after dinner, I have crazy sugar cravings. One thing I've found that's helped over the years is to switch to fruit juice and then cut that out or cut down too. I LOVE apple juice and grape juice, but normally don't let myself drink them because they're so high in calories and mostly devoid of nutrition. When I'm trying to cut out sugary sweets, though, I'll buy some and, when I'm craving sugar, I'll drink some. If I do this for a week or 2, I find that I don't have the same cravings for sugary sweets. And then I can go back to cutting down or out on the juices.1

I'm in the same boat, I get it. I LOVE Fiber One Oats & Chocolate bars. SO yummy and chocolatey and 140 calories per bar.1

I like to have a little something special after dinner, but was able to come up with options that aren't high cal (or alcoholic, which was my thing back back far back in the day).
A small piece of dark chocolate, a pear, a good cup of coffee (I am trying to convince myself I like decaf now), a kombucha or homemade iced tea, and one of my favorites, this non sweetened drinking chocolate. It's the ritual that I crave more than specific foods.2 -
I break a square off a chocolate bar, like off of a Symphony's chocolate bar with nuts and savor the taste in every bite. Ugh they're so good.1

I've been there. The group of people I ate dinner with in college got ice cream every night, so it'd be weird to be the only one not eating it. But try eating wayyyy slower. It's strange how fast we eat our food without really enjoying it.2
