  • No, I've lost weight and achieved my goals on Abilify. It's possible:)
  • I'm a senior in college next semester. I live off campus, but I don't have a car and there are no grocery stores within walking distance, so I eat out every meal. It's tough, but I have found healthy options (still high in sodium unfortunately). Add me if you'd like!! I need more friends on here:))
  • Add me:) I need more friends on here. I don't log exercise, but I exercise most days and I'm trying to get back into shape after an injury set me back...
  • My coach says you have to eat exceptionally well the entire day before you box, and if you are getting in the ring, the closest you can eat to it is four hours beforehand, but he recommends 5 hours. For regular training, I've read in many fitness magazines and journal articles that your body loses muscle when you do not…
  • I'm not saying I won't see negative results from this weekend, but any tips on how to minimize the cravings for unhealthy foods or what you did to prepare/recover are much appreciated!
  • There really won't be any foods there. These are college parties that's single purpose is to get everyone in attendance smashed. However, many times my group of friends feel compelled to go to Chinese or pizza places at 3am when no one is in the right state of mind to make rational decisions. Also, while I don't feel sick…
  • Finding a work out that I absolutely love to do keeps me dedicated. I love boxing which is an amazing work out; it keeps me in shape, but it is more fun than work. Finding something you love, whether it is boxing, zumba, tennis, etc., will keep you coming back because it isn't something you loathe doing. I've also noticed…
  • I'm 21! I've been on here since the beginning of the year and I've only just realized it is better to do this with support! Feel free to add me!
  • I don't know how terribly fit I am, but I'm a physically active college student looking for friends! Feel free to add me!
  • 1. What did you have for breakfast? Grande iced skinny caramel macchiato and a spinach feta wrap from Starbucks 2. How much water do you drink per day? 3 or 4 bottles of water 3. What are your favorite snacks? almonds, fruit, or cottage cheese with blueberries mixed in 4. How many calories do you eat per day? It was 1250…
  • I'm 21. Been here a while, but decided I should start getting friends on here! Feel free to add me too:)
  • I got through my week of boxing practices last night, which are 2- 2 1/2 hours a day Monday-Thursday! I also finally felt comfortable enough to put a picture of myself on here (now that I am so close to my goal weight)! :)
  • I am in the boxing club at my university and have been for the past year. You either have the option to just do the workouts or do the workouts in addition to compete. For the past two semesters, I have opted for the workouts only. My new goal is to spar this semester.
  • alcohol, skinny caramel macchiatos from starbucks, and the occasional cupcake!
  • It's a discrete pedometer that not only tracks steps, but number of floors climbed, number of miles walked/jogged, calories burned, and sleep patterns when you wear the wristband that it hooks into at night. I got mine for about $90 on Amazon in blue, but you can get it in pink for about $10 more which I thought was a…

  • I've been bingeing and purging since I was 18 (now 21). Before that, I struggled with anorexia for many years. Needless to say, I have a really complicated and screwed up relationship with food. Reading all of these posts makes me realize how far I have come, even though I am not perfect. Some practical things I've learned…

  • I've struggled with it for years and what I've realized is the binges are tied to how I'm feeling that day. If I'm stressed, sad, anxious, whatever, I feel compelled to "numb out" through bingeing. If I ever feel those emotions, I do something I enjoy that is not related to food or I get the feelings out in some way. My…
  • I'm doing amazingly on Topamax at 25mg twice a day. I have to keep my stress levels down or the urges will return (they did during finals week), but I've been really successful with it. I think the combination of that and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) really helps. What I have noticed though is every time I go out to…

  • Struggling with both bulimia and anorexia (in separate periods of my life obviously), I do know that neither is easier to recover from. While bulimia is a compulsion, you also probably want to stop the bingeing, giving you more of an incentive to get better. With anorexia, on the other hand, you are obsessed with…
  • If you want a really interesting and actually somewhat humorous book for recovery? Try Life Without Ed by JennI Schaeffer. Best eating disorder book ever, and I've read a ton.
  • I went to the Renfrew Center, which was the first treatment center for eating disorders (at least in the US). They have centers all up the east coast and a couple others out west. While it didn't work for me, I wouldn't say it was their fault (I wasn't ready). I spent six months in day treatment and intensive outpatient,…
  • Hi, I'm Jule. I am a junior in college and I have been struggling with disordered eating since I was 13. Up until 18, I suffered from anorexia, but 2 months before I graduated high school, it switched over to bulimia and it has been that way ever since. I went to treatment when I was 19 for six months and I don't do it…
