Parties this weekend

I'm rather nervous for this weekend. I have costume parties I'm going to tonight and tomorrow night (I'm going as Hermione and Wonder Woman!). The problem is all of the calories from the drinking and the inevitable compulsion to eat poorly once I start drinking and the day after. Tips anyone? Besides telling me to drink less because that's not going to happen lol.

Work out hard to make up for extra calories. Eat before you go so you'll eat less there and don't sweat it too much. It's only one weekend. Just try to stay in your calorie range.0

I've heard that doing alternate alcoholic drinks with water, 1:1 ratio is one trick. Do mixed drinks with least calories, and use more of the mixers like seltzer, diet soda (not sure what your drink of choce is). Bring a dish you can enjoy; and maybe eat before you go so not as tempted.
Last party I attended I tried to to stick to the protein offerings like shrimp and veggies with minimal dipping. I also mingled more with the groups farther acrrossthe room from the snack table LOL0 -
I know this probably sounds crazy but 1: I don't drink, and 2: I don't party but last year for thanksgiving and Christmas I ate before the gatherings and did not touch any of the foods there0

There really won't be any foods there. These are college parties that's single purpose is to get everyone in attendance smashed. However, many times my group of friends feel compelled to go to Chinese or pizza places at 3am when no one is in the right state of mind to make rational decisions. Also, while I don't feel sick from hangovers usually, it's extremely difficult to avoid unhealthy foods after a night of drinking. That's usually my downfall... While it is just one weekend, I would rather not spend the next two weeks making up for it if at all possible.0

inevitable compulsion
Smart. You know the COMPUSLION to over eat/drink is INEVITABLE but that not actually doing these things is INEVITABLE.
I say, remember why you want to lose weight...don't be too hard on yourself...have fun.....get back on the wagon on monday.

This is NOT a judgement!! :flowerforyou: But I guess because I'm a mom who has experiences some of the "negative" side of these parties with my own kids, (ER calls are NOT fun) I just ask you to focus on being smart and safe while you party, and the calories and or extra pounds will be taken care of when you get back to your routine.0 -
you cant have it both ways.
you dont want to drink less, so then dont moan about the results when you stuff your face with donner meat and chips!
as the saying goes... dont be upset by the results you didnt get from the work you didnt do!0 -
I'm not saying I won't see negative results from this weekend, but any tips on how to minimize the cravings for unhealthy foods or what you did to prepare/recover are much appreciated!0
