I’m eating at deficit and was very disappointed to come to the realisation that I couldn’t grow my backside whilst losing fat :(

Can totally empathise. I have no bum. :( I’ve been doing hip thrusts with dumbbells at home and it feels like it is activating my lazy backside but too early to tell if it will make any difference. Thinking of getting resistance bands to use to do sideways clams etc.

Thank you! The whole weight lifting thing has been a bit of a revelation for me recently. I’ve always done lots of cardio in the past and used to run a lot but was always ‘fat skinny’. I think strength work is probably what I’ve been missing all these years and hoping to do some body weight stuff at home. I have some heavy…

Am I too late to join? I am having slow progress these last 3 weeks and need to log more accurately and also work out! I've got a sore knee but hoping to start HIIT as soon as it's better!

True.

Thanks for your answers. I personally really like IF but I also had an eating disorder as a teenager and would have found being able to say 'I'm doing IF' a wonderful cover up. I take the point of those who are saying that IF done properly doesn't mean a greater restriction in calories and that those with a prior history…

I have started to add less and less milk to my usual latte and now I drink it black or with a dash of milk. I have a bean to cup machine which produces lovely expresso.

Almost!! I’m 5 foot 7, started at 185, currently 173 and aiming for 140. I’m in North east England.

Fab!! I have been close to losing a stone for about 3 weeks now but keep losing and gaining the same couple of pounds! I have around 2 stone to go too.

I’m struggling a little bit after a good loss in the first month. I have around 30lb still to lose so feel as if the weight should still be coming off fairly consistently. I really need to try to get exercise into my day.

Fantastic transformation. I practise IF and eat around lunch time as my first meal of the day. It makes it easier for me to stick to my calories!

Wow! Amazing. I’m currently losing weight after my second baby (who is now 2.5!!!). I already lost the weight very quickly whilst breastfeeding on sub 1200 cals. A year later and it’s all back on again. Hoping to have more sensible and maintainable weight loss this time!

I’m at 175 and hoping to reach 140 but I’ve already lost 11lb and it’s all starting to slow down and I’ve fallen off the wagon this week and not logged for a couple of days. Need to get back on it! I’m doing 1200 as I have a desk job 3 days a week. I do a form of intermittent fasting so I leave eating as late as possible…

Great transformation in such a short time! Amazing what a stone weight loss makes!

Wow, what a difference! My children are my inspiration too, I want to have more energy for them!

Everyday here.

I don’t eat breakfast and have my first meal around 12.30-1pm. I’ll have something like a bowl of soup and fruit for lunch or some chicken breast with a big salad. For dinner I’ll have something like baked fish with veg and a small potion of bulgur wheat and quinoa. Boil in the bag fish is also really quick to do in the…

I think other people have made really good points about logging- 10 calories here and there soon adds up. It doesn’t matter so much if your bmi is high but you are a healthy weight already so it won’t shift all that easier. I would also say, I have a sticking weight which is around 10lb heavier than my goal weight and when…
-
Well done! I’m slightly shorter than you at 5 foot 7 and also aiming for a healthy bmi in the next few weeks!
-
P.s. would this be worth buying?
-
Great, thank you for the suggestions folks!

I definitely self sabotage. At the moment I’m trying to visualise how good it will feel to be slim for Christmas and not to feel embarrassed about photographs.
-
Exactly what happens to me! Aiming for 140 too

Thanks everyone. No, I haven’t lifted anything before bar some bigger dumbbells (I think they are in the loft!). I used to do boot camp so have done quite a lot of burpees, lunges, planks, squats etc. in the past. I tend to be fat skinny when I lose weight- just want to look more lean and also to have a bum (which is…

Yes, I find this works for me really well. I’m in a rush in the morning and don’t really feel like breakfast anyway. I’ll have a coffee and then have lunch around 12.30 as my first food of the day. Today I didn’t get hungry until 2pm so I waited until then to eat. It’s basically a form of intermittent fasting and the idea…

Well done!!

I’ll be your friend! :) I’m 5 foot 7 and currently 177 lb having just lost 8lb in the last 3 weeks. I’m aiming for around 140 lb although 145lb would also be great! I lost weight about a year ago and got down to around 150lb, bought some nice new clothes and then put the weight on again so desperate to get into my old…

I have around 40 to lose. I’m 5 foot 7 and 177lb having lost 8 lbs in the last couple of weeks. Want to be around 137lb (but would be delighted with 140!)
-
Yes, I’m on 1200 and managing well on it- eating plenty of veg and protein. Have lost 8 pounds in 20 days so far. I’m 5 foot 7 and do a desk job 3 days a week. The rest of the days I’m moderately active running after two children. I started out at 185 pounds and aiming for 140.

1200 is pretty much the minimum a body uses just for basic functions (unless you are really really small). When you log everything you eat, it’s amazing how quickly 1200 calories is used up. I thought I was consuming roughly maintenance calories but when I logged it I was eating around 3500 calories!
