I do cardio 5x a week for 40 mins, so I do believe in exercising. I was just wondering as a hypothetical.

My BMR is 1,279 cals a day.

Good to hear! My metabolism is in the tank and desperately needs a revival...

That was so good and heartwarming! Thank you for sharing, I hadn't seen this before :flowerforyou:

I know this is nothing new, but I see this ad all the time on another website I visit...look at her arm!! Not a good look :noway:

I made mini cupcakes and they didn't rise in the middle either. They were like little mini volcano cupcakes

You should invest in a digital food scale that measures in ounces.

I love it. I've been doing it for 20 days now and I've noticed big difference in my muscle tone and endurance.

I like to spread Laughing Cow light cheese, Turkey, and a little Avocado. It's such a yummy snack :smooched:

I was to the point of weighing myself 2x a day, morning and night...how neurotic is that  But yes, it really is detrimental for your psyche. You've been working hard all day, doing everything right, then what? The scale has gone up .5? Or it's the same...So weighing yourself every day actually is a really…

I used to HATE exercise as well. Believe me, before I started seriously wanting to get fit, I would never exercise. The only thing that snapped me out of my lethargy was Jillian's 30 Day Shred. Previously, I would use the treadmill, but I was always phoning it in (as Jillian would say  ) The scale was barely moving…

You're probably not seeing the weight come off because cardio 2x a week isn't enough. When you're closer to what your body wants to be, you have to push yourself harder to get it to lose those pounds. I highly suggest a strength training program (or something like 30 Day Shred) to kick your body out of its comfort zone.…

You need to use weights. I'm a strength training beginner so I used 3 lb weights, and let me tell you, it KILLED...but you have to push yourself to get your muscles to change. What you will be doing for the first week probably is modifying the heck out of the exercises if you're not used to any strength training, then…

I think this website + a good workout routine is really all you need. A dvd that you own is a good investment, along with a set of hand weights. I personally love the 30 Day Shred for toning, although you really need to go extra cardio to get your calorie burn up. However the toning that you get from the shred in such…

If you're not used to strength training, 4 lbs will be more than enough. I use 3 lb and with some of the exercises, the arm lifts for example, it kills! But the undersides of my arms are a lot more tone for the effort :smooched:

Just change your goals to be Lightly Active. Don't count standing as exercise, let MFP calculate it for you as part of your daily calorie needs. Only count actual exercise you do like cardio, circuit training, what have you.

I'm on day 16! Stick with it, you're going to start seeing the changes in your muscle tone, and that will be excellent motivation for you to want to keep going.

Flavored lip balm!

This should clear things up for you: http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/diet-fitness/how-do-take-my-measurements.html

You know, it doesn't burn as many calories as working on the treadmill etc, but the toning that you get from it in such a short amount of time is invaluable! I've been doing it for 15 days now and I see big differences in my arms, legs, chest...after only 15 days! I'm still on lvl 1 because lvl 2 is too much of a challenge…

My husband got sick when he tried it the first time. You probably overdid it and your body wasn't quite ready for that level of exertion yet. Next time, try modifying some of the exercises more, but just make sure you complete the workout. You have to work yourself up to it, but you'll get better with time.

Hanna, for me it's pretty slow at 1200...like .5 lb/ week. I exercise daily and eat back most of my exercise cals, but the closer you are to your goal weight, the slower the process is. At first I set my expectations too high, seeing other people losing 2.5 lbs/week, I figured I would as well. But once again, those people…

My vote is for 30 Day Shred as well. I've noticed a lot of toning after just 2 weeks, give it a go:heart:

Stock the fridge with lo-cal, yet satisfying snacks. My favorite lately is no-sugar Jello pudding boxes...I whip it up, pour it into 4 serving glasses, then top each with a dollop of Cool Whip Free, and it all comes out to like 85 cals. It's really sweet and creamy and makes you feel like you're getting a treat. Don't…

I just tried lvl 2 also... At first, I was like hmmm...this isn't so bad... Then the myriad of plank-position exercises began :noway: I need to continue lvl 1

Need to go shopping later...what are some things I should pick up? Looking for new ideas, thanks :flowerforyou:

Dang, I only burn 187...and I'm killing myself the whole time...what's up with that
-
I would get the kind of free weights that are soft...filled with sand or whatnot...because I'm always throwing them down on the ground between strength & cardio/abs

I prefer turkey bacon as well :drinker:
