Hi there. You say you've chosen to lose 1.5lbs per week when you set your goals, so MFP will have cut 750 cals from your daily intake to achieve that loss. It could be that suddenly eating 750 cals less per day is too drastic a cut for you. Perhaps try setting you goal to 1lb per week, which equates to 500 cals less per…

Hi there. So long as you log it the same way you weigh it, it doesn't matter. A piece of cooked meat will weigh less than it did when it was raw, so there'll be a calorie difference if you weigh it raw but log it as cooked weight, or vice versa. Cheers

Hi there. Congratulations on re-igniting your passion for mountain walking and for life! Sounds like you have very exiting times ahead :) I started hiking up mountains this year and although I'm out with an ankle injury at the moment, I'm absolutely loving it! Can't wait to get back into it. My goal is to complete the…

Fantastic pics, thanks for sharing! (And really cute haircut!) There's definitely a big difference - glad that you can see the changes too :) Congrats on your progress so far - really inspirational!!

Hey there - I'm so pleased I stumbled across this thread, I was beginning to wonder if I was all alone:) I'm 40 years old and don't have any children, I just never really felt that maternal thing. Anyone can feel free to add me too :)

I'm interested in this topic too... So if a HRM isn't accurate, what's a good method for estimating how many calories your burn during strength training? Thanks!

Congrats on your weight loss - that's fantastic! Hope you have a fantastic time on your holiday and enjoy being pool-side with your new, slender body :) If you're not comfortable showing off your tummy, how about a super-cool, retro, high-waisted two-piece? Add some giant shades and a big floppy hat, and you're pure…

Today I climbed the Hakarimata Summit and was 15mins faster on the ascent than when I did it 4 weeks ago. I haven't stopped smiling yet :) Great thread idea, OP :) And congrats to all who have posted and found something to be proud of. Carry on with your bad selves

Looks yummy - thanks for posting! Tagging so I can try this when I next have a chocolate craving :)

And here is an exercise day. Good luck with your weight loss and fitness

Hi OP - welcome to MFP :) I'm currently on 1200 cals net. I'm 5' 1", 40 yrs old, 70kg (154lbs), trying to lose 0.5kg per week (1 lb). Here's what my diary looks like on a non-exercise day. However, if I'm actually still hungry (as in, really feeling hungry, not just wanting to put food in my mouth), I'm happy to go over. I…

Tagging for NZ winter :)

I get pretty hungry on my rest days too, so instead of trying to stay under my calorie limit for that day, I focus on my average calories for the week. Currently I aim for an average of 1350ish net cals for the week, which means I eat between 1500-1700 each day depending on how much exercise I do in the week. It means I go…

My lovely partner does this too. At first I would chastise him, but seeing his crest fallen face made me feel like a total jerk. Now I try to just say thanks and put it in my treat jar in the hope that I can hold out till I have enough calories to eat it. I don't always succeed, but it's my battle not his. Otherwise, he is…

I think we all get a bit obsessed with that number on the scale - it's just so much easier to define ourselves by a number that we can get in a just few seconds. But you are actually losing inches - which must have a more visual result in the end. Isn't that more positive than some mythical number that depends on muscle…

Love it!! I scarfed 2800+ calories today and I don't feel guilty either :) a) I needed to get some cravings out of my system. b) This is why I try to eat healthier most of the time - so I can splurge when I feel the need. c) On average, I'm still doing better than I was before I started this! Cool post - love you, love…

Hey there :) I see you give the difference in measurements for your other areas, but not your waist, you just say it's 'huge'. Is there any movement in your measurements there? I'm just asking because I have been experiencing something very similar in my hip to thigh area *shudder*. I can't see any difference when I look…

Bananas. That is all.

Hi there Not sure if this helps or not, but I would burn around 500-ish cals on the Elliptical in 50 mins (I usually go for an hour and burn about 600 cals). I use a HRM to estimate cals, and I'm working my butt off (gasping, sweating buckets, and fighting the urge to turn the resistence down) to get an average heart rate…

Wow - 22.5% (4.5 sizes) smaller than I think I am! I do know that my mind hasn't quite caught up with the weight I've lost so far, but I was so surprised that I asked my partner to choose which size he thought I was and he picked the right one - what a hoot! Thanks OP - this was fun, and a good little boost =)
-
Not drastic??? Oh my gosh, I can see a huge difference! Way to go - you look smokin'!!

I've lost small amounts of money on several occasions because I've also felt to awkward to ask a friend to pay it back, so I get where you're coming from. However, isn't it interesting that the lender is always the one who feels awkward and like they are jeopardising the friendship by asking, when it is actually the…

Gosh, what a blunt and mean thing to say! I think you look incredible - well done on your amazing progress :) I've recently had two people say that I should stop losing weight now or I will get too skinny (thankfully they haven't worded it quite so rudely as your 'friend'). It's quite surprising to hear people say things…

Wow - that is just fabulous! Congratulations!! And - your new suit is so colourful and fun and flirty - quite a difference from your plain black one! Bet you feel like a million bucks in it! :)

I like to have a banana before my weekend workouts - the sugary energy hit is great and I can go much harder and longer than I could on an empty stomach or some other snack/meal.
-
Are you weighing your food for greater accuracy on calorie intake? Also, MFP's calorie burns are somewhat over estimated - if you're eating back cals then you might want to bear that in mind. Otherwise, not sure without being able to see your diary

Dear 16 year old me... You're not perfect and nor will you ever be, but you'll do just fine. Enjoy the journey, and all it's ups and downs. xx

I will always try to find something positive to say. I want to be supportive of my friends - that includes encouraging them if they haven't had a great day. I think it's more constructive to lift them up instead of telling them off. If it's me, I know I'm already beating myself up enough over my poor choices, and I don't…

I'm no food photographer, sorry - but this burger was so freakin' tasty, I just had to share... BBQ, bacon, double blue cheese burger, with an 'everything but lettuce' salad :)
