  • Started Keto right after Christmas...didn't even wait until the New Year because I was tired of all the food. Down 28 LBS and my blood glucose has dropped to almost a normal level. While I know not everyone agrees with the Keto WOE and it may not be for everyone, I'm really happy with the results so far. I think it's great…
  • Thanks again! Great advice!!
  • Thanks everyone! I appreciate your replies and will keep them in mind marathon day!
  • Thanks Pondee!!
  • I buy the Jif packets and take them to work with celery, english muffins, etc., but I only use a 1/2 packet at a time because I have a hard time justifying an entire packet of peanut butter in one setting. Just an idea if you don't want all the calories in one setting.
  • I travel sporadically with my job and actually find at times I eat better traveling then when I'm home. I try to pre-plan as much as I can for meals by myself. During the meals when I dine with others, I try to be careful of my choices and the portion. Granted this isn't always the case but I try to do the best I can. I…
  • Not a Nigerian scam, but a couple of months after my brother passed away last year my dad received a phone call from my nephew (his grandson). The "grandson" told my dad he has been in an accident, was in trouble, and he needed my dad to wire him some money. When my dad asked him why he didn't sound like "grandson" he said…
  • I actually liked it...it was more relate-able to me than past seasons. People who were previously fit that let themselves go---who aren't the 400-500 LBS but perhaps a more "average" overweight. I always thought that it didn't seem right that they always pick the super obese people to be on the show since I don't think it…
  • What did you end up ordering? I plan on going there tomorrow evening and have already logged the lettuce wraps as my meal...LOVE them!! :)
  • I completely understand! Practically all of 2014 has been like that--but I've recently just jumped back on the horse again to finish this time!! If you read the success stories in the message boards, there are a lot of people that have successfully reached their goal but admit they've had struggles before reaching it. The…
  • Type 2er here too--was diagnosed a few years ago, and yes I also have the "dawn effect" in the mornings. I remember when I was first diagnosed...what a reality check! I would go as far as saying that I went through a few weeks of depression...wondering how did I let myself get so far out of control?? But like someone else…
  • One of my favorite meals is from the local Chinese restaurant....Egg Drop Soup and an Egg roll=275 calories. Sometimes I'll get the steamed chicken and veggie's. Good Luck....You've Got This!! :flowerforyou:
  • Ice Cream or Chocolate. And if you combine the two it should be NEGATIVE calories!!
  • I hate pictures...almost as much as I hate stepping on the scales because they both can mentally tear us down. Like Chrissy said...compare them to your pics from 37 lbs. again--and consider it one of your in between pics. You're doing great...don't let one pic bring you down!
  • This is my thought too. I was a broke single mom and couldn't afford to go to the gym. I would put my daughter in the stroller and walk walk walk every day. Might boost your energy too.
  • In the same boat here...every week I say OK, time to get back on plan!! Having a hard staying on track. Will do good Monday-Wednesday but then Thursday hits (don't even get me started on the weekend), and I completely cave. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS!!
  • Have you checked out cheapcaribbean.com? My daughter and I went to an all inclusive in Cancun and I booked it off that site (great deals!!). I compared their ratings and reviews to those on TripAdvisor.
  • I cut mine into about 1 inch slices...shake the chunks in a plastic baggie with a little olive oil and seasoning salt and grill it. It's my go-to veggie in the summer! A grill on med-high will give the outside a nice grill mark and cook it slightly without making it mushy.
  • During the work week I fix a bowl of Quaker's Weight Control Oatmeal--has extra protein and fiber in it. I'm addicted to the maple flavor. I eat that usually when I get into work around 8ish. Around 10:30 or 11:00 I have a yogurt only because I like to eat every 3 hours or so. Weekends...usually a couple of eggs with toast…
  • This is so true and thank you for posting! My daughter is now 24, but I wished I had thought about this when she was younger. When she was growing up I tried not to say the "diet" word in front of her---I would always say I was trying to eat healthier. But...I was always discounting myself and my body in front of her. If I…
  • If I ask I guy out, I plan on paying. I wouldn't imagine asking someone out and then expecting them to pay....but that's just me.
  • Thanks for ideas! Will have to try a few of these out to get my protein in!
  • Love Love Love this and really needed to read this today! I am 45 myself...and have struggled with weight issues my entire life. I'm now about 25 lbs. from goal and have back slid a little bit---seemed to have lost my mojo and had a weekend of mindless eating while camping which followed a few weeks of eating whatever…
  • My go to Chinese restaurant meal: egg drop soup & steamed chicken and veggies.
  • I should have said registered nutritionist--that is who I actually went to. Sorry for the wrong info.
  • Hi Rae-Rae! I would recommend seeing a nutrionist! I found out I had it a few years ago and instantly I cut out all sugar because I thought that was what I was supposed to do. Then I went and to see a nutrionist. Nowadays, it's not so much about cutting sugar--it's more about the amount of carbs you intake. A nutritionsist…
  • LOL...confusion is so me too!! He's probably just tired of the dating website scene and is quick to judge based on what seems to be the norm. Be up front with him and let him know that it's not like you to talk to more than one at a time. Then I'd let it ago unless he tried accusing you again...he probably just needs to be…
  • Did you meet him on a dating website? The reason I ask is because I think it's common knowledge that the majority of people (men and women) on dating websites talk to multiple people--they don't want to limit themselves to just one person because they're basically window shoppong--always in search of the next best thing.…
  • I'd also invest in a cheap video recorder and put it in your window (hidden). Catch the little sh*ts on camera next time!!
  • BTW...now I'm hungry for burritos thank you very much!! I should have added in my earlier post that my weight fluctuates daily also. I try to only weigh in once or twice a week--otherwise frustration sets in when I don't see what I want to on the scale which often led to sub-conscious reasons to cave for that…
